There were many aspects of this story that I liked; the couple Alaina and Zane, the suspense with the families, and how it was connected with the MC group added excitement to the book. I felt that this story was a great introduction to what was going to be in store for us. There is one particular character I am extremely interested in! The writing from certain scenes to another was a bit choppy, BUT it didn't take away from the story for me. I think Amo Jones made me like the couple so much, the premise so much, that I was able to just enjoy the action of this story.
When secrets are revealed you feel a bit wounded for those involved and scared for the situation. This made some scenes thrilling and suspenseful. Then you have the sex scenes, and it’s hot. Their kiss is hot, their intimacy is hot, and the whole biker protecting his woman is hot! Alaina and Zane were really likable.
Zane falls for Alaina, but he is very tough. He is the president of his MC. He is book smart, street smart, and off the charts sexy. My favorite scene is after an intense action scene ends, Zane is starts to take in what had just happened, his vulnerable side comes out (bath tub scene) I thought that this scene was moving. I think he was trying to grasp what had happened and what he could have lost.
Alaina, is beautiful, innocent, but not weak or dumb. She is comfortable with herself and sex, so she isn’t a whiny character at all. She has a family tragedy and secrets, which again made the story exciting. She wasn’t a damsel in distress; she took care of herself for as long as she needed to.
There was plenty of interaction between the couple; it was a sexy and exciting read. I really enjoyed Alaina and Zane!
I would say that this story is a good MC book that has all the makings of a good MC series.
3.5 star read!
