Rate this book
Badass Brandon Shove is back in Vermin County, TN. It is the end of the road for him. The last stop in a life riddled with bad choices, mistakes, and dumbass moves. But needing a place to figure out what he's going to do with the rest of his life, and nowhere else to go, he's here.

And so is she.

Wonderful second chance romance…This book is set 20 years after the second book. Both Melissa and Brandon, childhood friends and sweethearts, are wounded people. Neither expected to see each other after Brandon abandoned Melissa at the altar when they eloped 7 years ago. After an oil rig accident, Brandon's will always walk with a limp and live with pain. Melissa's wounds are on the inside. Melissa hasn't told anyone that she was raped by her partner. When she opens up to Brandon, the healing begins. I received a free copy of this book from eBook Discovery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a wonderful second chance romance. Both of them have to fight their demons and find their path in life. I love this book. If you are new to the series, this book could be enjoyed as a standalone.

We first met Melissa and Brandon as children in book 2 and this book is set 20 years later. Melissa was a sweet but sassy little girl with a fiery temper but the woman we meet at the start of this book although having kept her temper is very much broken and has returned to Rodent to lick her wounds. Brandon has also grown up to fulfill his "Badass" nickname but he too is a broken man who has returned home.

The book is well written and deals sensitively with the horrific subject of rape. I was fully engaged with the story and finished the book in one day. This is an excellent series that I would definitely recommend.

This is the 3rd book in the series and it keeps getting better, It's interesting and engaging.
Coming back to her hometown, Rodent, after a bad experience she had in the hands of her partner, the last person she expected to see was Brandon who left her standing alone at the altar seven years ago.
Brandon came back to his hometown after leaving seven years ago due to his wrong choices and to recuperate from the accident he had.
The two of them never got over each other but many water has passed under the bridge and they each have their own demons to overcome before they can move ahead and have their happily ever after. This is the last book of the series. To read the Brendon's and Melissa's love story with the ups and downs to get to this point was heart warming. The imagery painted about their individual lives is riveting. The story descriptions and the emotional draw kept me reading nonstop. The characters from the previous books also grew in this story.
I am glad that I took the time to read all three books.
Enjoy!
