oh look! you can get it for free on smashwords. i looooooove smashwords! it's been serving me since long before i knew how to navigate around the various derivative potholes of the internet(i don't know myself what i mean. if you can figure it out, do help).
where did i even get this book? it was long ago and bigsurprise(not) i never finished it. but uh yeah, it was an alright novel, i think. i might still have it; let's scrunge it up, maybe i'll finish it. i remember lots lots of details- the rat, cat and dog. and the alliance thingy- heh. and to think i can't even remember conversations i had in the morning. my memory is a terrible, erratic thing.
I gave one star for the effort (it's never easy), another for the plot (nice storyline and vivid details), and a third for the interesting characters. The last two stars were lost to the book cover/description and transition/flow of the story. The book started off great, but got way too confusing along the line. I put it down for a few months, then decided to complete it because I never leave anything undone. The ending was even more confusing.
This book will undoubtedly keep you reading. Everyone is asleep. How long? Indefinitely. But their are a few lucky youngsters. Well let's rephrase that: There are a few youngsters. You might not want to describe them as lucky. The fate of the world is in their hands.
At first, I enjoyed this, but then the plot got a little too far-fetched for me. What began as a mystery morphed into a sci-fi fantasy, complete with robots AND dragons AND talking animals. A bit weird for my tastes, but my students will probably like it.
