Ember Evans, aka Spike, is discovering where she stands in the battle between light and dark. Being half human and half angel means juggling two worlds. It's not easy for the nephilim to find their place in the war between angels and demons.
When a rock scene girl turns up dead Arrow is blamed for the crime even though he has no memory of the night in question. Rowen insists Arrow is innocent but Spike worries that he’s defending a guilty man. Once she gets involved the truth is revealed and its more twisted than she anticipates.
The city's dark forces have not given up on having Rowen as their own and they're willing to destroy anyone who stands in their way. Even Spike. When the dark wants something, they go to any length to get it.
I am the author of the Alexa O’Brien Huntress and the Rebel Heart series. I write urban fantasy that is dark and gritty with a twist of romance and horror but which is ultimately about people in dark places discovering who they are and what they’re made of.
I’ve been writing since the age of 9 when I had a Christmas themed short story published in the local town paper. A lover of rock music, vampires and muscle cars, I’m a dreamer who always secretly wanted to be a rockstar.
I love to hear from readers so don’t hesitate to drop me a line.
I went into this excited after the last book, but I was sadly disappointed. Rather than building on the drama from before, it felt stagnant. I didn't feel anyone grew, but just emphasized what we knew from the first book. Still I have hopes for the next book. One point at the end did tug my heart and made me a little weepy, so extra for that. However, I prefer some growth during a story, not a re-hash that could have been avoided or just added to the second book.
Picking up from Crimson Sin was surprisingly easy. All of the characters are thought out and developed into relatable people despite their supernatural abilities. It was fun running into familiar places and faces from the Alexa O'Brien series, you immediately knew where you were in the Alexa series. It's kinda like having a back stage pass to some of the novels without being cheesy. My only suggestion would have been giving the readers a little more of what to look forward to in the next novel in this series. I felt a little lost at the very end, but I will still be there when the next book in this series comes out!!! Another great series by a very gifted, down to earth (so to speak) author, loved it!!!!!!
I'm glad I had a chance to listen to this audiobook, it's wonderfully written, well-plotted, engaging, and wholly entertaining. I love how the series is progressing, and the characters are growing. The storyline is fast-paced, action-packed, thrilling, and even emotional. I'm definitely invested in the series, particularly the characters.
Outstanding narration by Brooklyn Morgan. She portrayed the characters' personality, mood, and emotions very well, bringing them to life. I enjoyed everything about this audiobook, one I'll highly recommend. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Spike and Rowen continue trying to save Arrow from the clutches of the dark and the demons who are influencing his life. But Arrow starts having blackouts and it’s during one of these that he wakes up next to a dead groupie, covered in blood. Did Arrow kill the girl, were the demons setting him up, and after the demons start targeting Spike, will Rowen do something rash and make a deal with the devil? Guess you gotta read the book to know!
A roller coaster of emotions fuel this action packed story as Spike and her friends struggle with juggling the supernatural world and becoming rock stars. They face things we never will, but they share in the self doubt and fears that everyone fights. The Spirit Room is a place to let music express emotions. A fantastic story by Trina M Lee.
I loved this book, it was an action packed, emotional rollercoaster that was impossible to put down. I was hooked from the beginning, swept into the amazing world of angels vs demons, I couldn't help but be emotionally invested in Spike, Rowan & Arrows struggle. I can't wait to find out whats next for them in book 3, and hear more of Brooklyn Morgan's expressive narration.
This book just added to the amazing storyline that started in the first book. The way it continued the storyline from the first book is amazing. A series I really can't put down.
I really love the way this author writes and her subject matter this book isn't as great as the huntress but def worth the read only on book 3 so we will c
The Spirit Room captures the dichotomy of good vs evil perfectly. The heroine is the perfect mix of strength and weakness as she discovers who she is and what she can do. I love Cinder, as we all need that one entity to encourage us along the journey. Jett is a great sidekick, strong and ferocious but always loyal. Then of course there's the inevitable mix of romance; her attraction to two men further complicates her life but when is life not complicated? Great read...
Not only does this series have action, it has emotion. If you want to read a book that sucks you into their world and you feel all their emotions, then this is a series you'll love. I've laughed, cried, been angry, and in total despair yet at the same time have had hope. I love it when an author can make you feel so much emotion and takes you completely out of your own world and deposits you into something new and wonderous.
This novel is a must read you will not regret reading it!! I love the new characters in this new novel plus all the twist and turns through out the entire story line. I really got into it, Trina has a way of really getting me to feel the emotions each character is feeling I laughed, cried and even got angry. If you are looking for a great angel, demon, werewolf and witch novel this is it.
I love Trina's writing so far she has not disappointed. I also like that her stories are truly original. I get sick of the same paranormal stuff out there but these books break away from the same ole thing.
I had been waiting to read this, wanting to know what will happen with Spike's band and everyone after their run in with Arrow's demon boss. I hope there will be another to explain the actions taken at the end of this one.
Trina M. Lee's books have a way of drawing you into the story. This one was no exception. It has action, a bit of romance, and even some mystery. I enjoyed this book and know you will too.
