After learning the truth of what the Solar Flare project has become, General Delgado takes Dr. Burnett prisoner, and threatens Odin's life if he doesn't immediately cooperate with the Project's plans. Desperate to escape, Odin takes the only action he can which would allow him to face the hundreds of armed soldiers between him and freedom: he gives control of his powers to Wendell. With Wendell unleashed, Odin watches helplessly as his powers are used to carve a horrific path of destruction at the end of which Wendell has promised that he grant Odin his freedom.

Personal Response:
I thought this was a very enjoyable book. There were times where this book got a little confusing and hard to follow. It had an intricate plot that took many twists.

Plot Summary:
In this book, Odin was banished to a world that was everywhere and nowhere. He was the only one in there besides the keeper, Eden. In this everywhere-nowhere world contained all the possibilities that Odin’s life could have been. Ones where he died at birth, others where his biological parents were still alive. There were infinitely many possibilities. He had to go through everyone and try and find out which was his life. Eden tried to sidetrack him and make him stay in her world forever, but he managed to explain to Eden that he did not belong and that he had to go back to his world and stop Wendelle. Eden helped him get back to his world, where he was found by his adoptive father.

Characterization:
At the beginning of this book, Eden was very childlike. She wanted to play, build, and she was very needy and didn’t want Odin to leave. Eden also had no concept of anything Odin was talking about. Towards the end of the book, Eden became conscious of what Odin was referring to. She opened up the line between her world and the world that was his.

Recommendations:
I recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy. This book is great for middle school and up. Other books I would recommend are Gone and Cress.

In the book Eden By J. Manoa, the main character, finds out what project solar flare is really being used for. The Head people for project solar flare have been lying to Odin for his entire life and he was sick of it. Finally once Odin starts to trust the scientist and guards, and starts cooperating with them, he finds out they were lying to him again and lied to him about what the solar flare machine was being used for. Doctor Burnett and general Delgado told Odin when he first arrived at the military facility that the solar flare machine was going to be used as a device that could create an endless amount of energy. Doctor Burnett was also being lied to. She found out that the machine was going to be used as a weapon that could wipe out any country with one shot. When Doctor Burnett found out, she immediately told Odin. Odin and Burnett started working together to try and stop the construction but when General Delgado found out that they were working together, he took Dr. Burnett as a prisoner. With no help, Odin turned to the only way he knew of that would work. He let Wendell, the voice inside take control of his body. Wendell had the ability to take control of Odin’s body and control his powers so Odin let Wendell take control and fight the people in the lab. In the next book we figure out how well Odin’s plan with Wendell will work and find out if Wendell will give Odin control of his body back or if Wendell lied to Odin and will be like a man truly possessed.
