Another amazing suspenseful thriller, this book was so exciting that I couldn't put it down once I started it. All the mystery and intrigue kept me up late at night and I devoured the whole thing, gobbled it. ;) The beginning was especially exceptional as it piqued my interest. Although ending was quite epic as well.

Nicky is on the run from her ex-husband who is hell bent on finding her and doesn't care what lies he has to tell or who he has to hurt in the process.
Rhyder is the man hired to protect Nicky and her son but comes to her with some preconceived notions about her character and is somewhat cold towards her in the beginning.
Forced to spend time with her, Rhy soon realises Nicky is nothing like he imagined her to be and starts to question everything he has been told. Soon he is fighting the pull of the loyal, strong but vulnerable woman in his care.
Nicky, having been on the receiving end of his initial misconceptions, wants nothing to do with Rhyder McLean and is determined not give in to her overwhelming attraction to him.
This is an action packed, plays like a movie in your head adventure with some heart felt moments thrown in, for instance, the bond which grows between Rhy and Nicky's son is beautiful, especially given Rhyder's heartbreaking past and the chemistry between them is evident leading to some sizzling moments.
I found myself picking up my kindle at every available opportunity to get back into their world and find out what was going to happen and I will definitely be adding more of Mackenzie Crowne to my TBR.

What an amazing read!! This book grabbed me from the very first page and there was no way I was putting it down until I knew what happened! The writing was superb, the characters fascinating, and the pace of the book is perfect. Rhy was a bit of jerk at the beginning but by the end I was in love. I love a book with a strong female character and trust me that description fits Nicole perfectly. She's a courageous and determined mama bear that will do anything to protect her child.
This one should be at the top of the must read list! I HIGHLY recommend it.

Nicky had been taking care of herself for a long time. She ran from her criminal husband and has been hiding herself and the son he doesn't know exists. When her father dies, Nicky takes a risk which allows her husband's unwitting henchman to find her. On the run again, Nicky takes her son and runs to the only place she feels safe. Her friends hire a security firm to protect Nicky until her fugitive ex husband can be apprehended. Rhyder (Rhy) is the man on the job, but unbeknownst to Nicky, he is also the man her ex sent to find her. Rhy realizes he was tricked and used by Nicky's ex, but he isn't sure how much of what he was told about her might actually be true. Having been hurt before, he isn't willing to trust Nicky to be who she says she is. Nicky doesn't even want to know Rhy. She thinks she and her son are safer on their own and keeps trying to ditch Rhy. Eventually the two agree to work together, and long nights alone lead to lead to getting to know each other very well, in more ways than one. As the danger escalates, so does Rhy's desire to keep Nicky and her son forever, but his deceptions may tear them apart.
I was unfamiliar with this author but decided to check out the book based on the publisher. I always have good luck with Entangled Ignite titles. This story was no different. I enjoyed the characters, especially Nicky's son, Alex, and the fast pace of the plot kept me interested and invested in the story.

Nicky has been running for five years from her monster ex husband. She found out after she left him she was pregnant with their son and has to keep him safe at all costs. She trusts very few people but with no alternative she must trust her closest friends and stay with the security firm they hired to help keep them safe, until her ex-husband can be caught and face his crimes.
Rhyder was originally hired by her ex husband to send a massage that would clear his debt he owed him. The tables have turned and he's been hired to now protect her and her son while searching for the man who played him for a fool. He has so many issues to work through making this such an interesting story.

Nicole Gurmond Everson has been hiding from her ex-husband for five years, with her son, Alex. Though Jonathan Everson is the biological father of Alex, he never knew that he had a son. Jonathan started out being very good to Nicole, but within a year's time, he became possessive and abusive, before she even knew she was pregnant, she left him. So far she has been able to keep herself and her son, safe, but they had to keep moving around a lot for Nicole feared that he would find out he was a father, and in some way take Alex from her. He seemed to know people everywhere, finding her wouldn't be a problem, even with all the different names she had acquired over the years.
Rhy McLean, was working for well known company named Global Shield, who was hired by Jonathan Everson, to find his ex-wife, and the report he turned in showed her to be a greedy woman who robbed several million dollars from her ex husband. Rhys and a quite a few people believed had reasons of their own to want see Jonathan caught, but Jonathan always managed to come up with some kind of an assignment to let them get off the hook as far as favors go. It was Rhy that whose mission it would be to leave Nicole's wedding band on the night stand to let her know that Jonathan knew where she was, it was a ring she left behind five years ago.

Having to trust a stranger in order to keep her son safe is proving to be one the hardest things Nicky Guimond Everson has ever done. Until now, she has been able to stay hidden and protect her child on her own, but when her ex-husband discovers her whereabouts she is ready to run again and do what she has to do to keep him from finding out about their son. With her husbands henchmen closing in on her, and no plan of where to go next, she turns to her friends for help and a safe place to hide out. Her friends hire a security firm to help keep her safe, until her ex-husband can be caught and brought up on charges, and while she appreciates the help, the idea of trusting someone again leaves her wary...

I foresee myself reading more of Ms. Crowne's books in the very near future!! It had it everything you could want in a story; thrilling mystery, addictive story line, dynamic characters with explosive chemistry, and some toe curling romance too!! Definitely a impressive first read for me, highly recommend it!!

Irresistible Deceptions is a standalone romantic suspense novel from author Mackenzie Crowne and based on my one-time experience reading something from this author a few months ago, I knew I had to pick this title up. The story was well-paced, making sure that the feeling of anticipation is always there. The reader feels as if they're trying to stay one step ahead of Nicky Guimond Everson's ex-husband along with our feisty heroine. Empathizing with her is easy and I certainly found myself just as distrustful of Rhy McLean in the beginning. You'll find out why when you read the book (which you should!), but he does earn that trust bit by bit, even when he does act like a judgmental jerk who lets his emotions and past get the better of him. I was on the edge of my seat each time I thought it was safe to relax. There's never a dull moment!
I loved Nicky, even when she may have appeared to be overly paranoid, because after what she went through with her ex and being forced into hiding for five years, being that way becomes second nature. She doesn't immediately trust Rhy, nor should she, and she doesn't take any of his pronouncements or orders like a docile female. She stands up to him and speaks her mind when she feels the need to do so and her protectiveness of Alex goes above and beyond anything else. Her love and loyalty toward her son, her father, and those she considered family is what strengthened her resolve to seek justice and face her demons rather than weakened her. Nicky isn't perfect and she makes her share of missteps in this story, but those missteps were often brought about by her need to protect her son or out of love for her father.
There was so much to love about this story, but one of the things I most appreciated about it was the slow burn romance between Nicky and Rhy. There was a lot going on and they needed to always be on the go when it came to keeping Alex safe, so whatever feelings they were beginning to have for each other had to be put on the back burner. I do think that all that time focusing on other things equaled to a heck of a lot of foreplay and when they finally do come together, the wait feels so worth it. There was never any doubt that this was a romantic suspense story and it ticked off all my requirements when it comes to both the romance and the suspense. I was left, however, with one question by the time I got to the end: What happened to Charlie?! ^.^ Charlie aside, I'm highly recommending Irresistble Deceptions. Five-plus stars. ♥

A debt that has been cashed in only if he would have listened to his gut from the very first time they met.
This was an excellent read that had me wanting more. I love reading suspense stories but what made this more for me was that this woman would do anything to keep her son safe. Nicky made a mistake in marrying a man her father introduced to her she fell head over heels with him. Now she has been on the run from him for 5 years but she knew that sooner or later she would have to confront him. Rhyder “Rhy” was just doing a job and he believe the reports that were presented to him but what was sad was that he didn’t make sure that those documents were legit. He believed that this woman was a embezzler but what was shocking to him was that there was no mention of a little boy.
Nicky knew it was time to run again when she saw her wedding ring the ring she had left behind when she left her husband. It was time to go back to DC she knew that the risk was there when she attended her dad’s burial but she had to. Rhy needed answers and the person that would tell him who was responsible for killing his brother. He didn’t know that the job he just finished doing would be at the same place. Her dad’s friend ended up hiring Rhy’s group to help her find her ex-husband but she didn’t like it. Rhy knew that if he didn’t look after Nicky she would end up running away. He also knew that sooner or later he would have to tell her the truth about how her ex-husband find them and why they were now running. But there was something else happening between them this instant chemistry this sizzling passion that sooner or later would ignite.
Irresistible Deceptions was an amazing read. I loved Ms. Crowe’s writing style her creativity and how I was lost in the story within the first couple of pages. I loved the characters and found myself vested in them vested in their safety especially with Alex. He was an adorable little boy that loved his mother. The passion between Rhy and Nicky was sensual. The pace of this story was perfect.
I can’t wait to see if she plans make this book into a series based on Rhy’s employees in Global Shield.

This is a fantastic book. It has mystery, suspense, and Hot men. Nicky has been in hiding for five years from her ex husband. Rhy was trying to get rid of a debt from a horrible person. Suddenly these two worlds collide and now Rhy has to keep Nicky and her son safe from the man who killed his brother and tricked him into putting Nicky in danger. Can he keep them safe and will she allow his help? A must read book. can't wait to read more in this series.

I did not want this book to end. I was actually mad when it did. Mackenzie hit his one out of the ball park in my opinion. I think this is my favorite book by her to date!
The story was intriguing and very well written. The characters are well developed and strong.
I loved Rhy from the beginning. Yes he had some moments where I wanted to smack him up side the head. He makes mistakes just like anyone else, real or fictional. Rhy is in the security, and PI business. He is a tracker. He is called in for a job to pay a debt, and that job is to hunt down Nicky and make it known that her ex is on the move, that he is not done with her yet. Rhy realizes to late that the man that hired him, was not being honest about Nicky...but his job is the only thing keeping him going, and once his debt is paid he realizes his mistake and that the man that hired him was indead the man he wanted to bring down for the death of his brother
Nicky is a single mom on the run from a psycho ex. She is all about keeping her son safe, but will she make a mistake that puts her and her son in danger.
The chemistry between Rhy and Nicky is sparks of the pages. The question is can they keep the Chemistry at bay or will they end up caving to the desires they both feel.

I absolutely loved this romantic suspense written by Mackenzie Crowne. I was sucked into the world of Nicky and her son Alex right from the beginning. I had to laugh when she first bumped into Rhy, her description was pretty much spot on. While Nicky and Rhy are shoved together on multiple occasions to stop her monster ex husband from hunting her down, she always had that bit of sass that I totally love in a heroine. Rhy, alpha male all the way showed us his tender spot, that may not have always been visible to Nicky. Excellent plot and character development along the way. I didn't want to put this book down. Kuddos to Ms. Crowne for adding this suspense along her writing journey. I certainly hope that she will continue to sneak these in here and there as nothing beats that edge of your seat feeling with a good book. 5/5 Cross posting to My Reading Reality and BAPS Book Blog.

Irresistible Deceptions by Mackenzie Crowne was action filled all the way through. I was hooked and on the edge of my seat from the first page to the end. The characters Nicky and Rhy were so well written and perfect, can they make it last. This is a must read if you are looking for a suspenseful action book that you can't put down.
I absolutely love Mackenzie's writing style, but she is amazing in suspense action books. I am hoping there will be more to come.

The storyline was very well thought out and I loved every minute of this book. I could not read it fast enough. It had it all, the angst, epic drama, steamy sex scenes, the danger, thrilling suspense and much more that came with it, which make me felt compelled, completely wrapped up in the story every single time!
I really enjoyed the story from start to end. The author did an excellent work on getting me wrapped up in it! The dynamic of the characters was great, and the backdrop well described, which make the story more believable.

This is a fabulous story packed with suspense and action. I loved the anticipation and chemistry between Nicky and Rhy. It is very well written and thought out. The pace is perfect with no dull moments. The heartfelt moments are endearing. This is a book that will grip you from the start and you won't want to put down. I highly recommend this one!

Loved This Book Nicky has been hiding from her ex-husband for 4 years. She’s had to learn to run at a moment’s notice and break ties with people she cares about. After she snuck attendance at her father’s funeral, it appears as though she’s been found again. Rhys thought he was clearing a debt owed when he tracked the woman from her father’s funeral. When he finds out the man he thought he owed is actually a criminal, he must now work with the woman he had to track and it looks like what he was told about her was completely wrong.
This was a really fast-paced book that I couldn’t put down until I was done. You really just want to help Nicky run the more you get to know her. Watching her and Rhys as they snarl at each other and then are drawn together was very satisfying as it was explosive. Really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from this author.

Wow this book kept me on the edge of my seat. What Nicky has been doing to survive then poor Rhy has his mind so entangled on revenge makes a grave error. Now Rhy and Nicky have to work together to bring down her ex and his brother's killer. Nicky is not at all what Rhy was expecting. Rhy has a pretty big secret he is keeping from Nicky that could blow all their plans to hell. Through a horrible situation can love shine through? I was not happy with Rhy in the beginning, but you can see the warrior underneath and he proves himself countless times, but can that redeem him in Nicky's eyes? The suspense just kept me reading because I had to know what was coming next. I loved the interaction between Rhy and Nicky's little boy. Too cute.

This book was really nice! The story is full of action, suspense and true feelings. It's a story about a woman who hides from her ex and somehow she is found. The plot is good and fast and sweet. The writting is nice and it really warmed my heart.
Nicky is a survivor. She has made choices based on love without thinking about herself and she is really amazing for that! She is a really fantastic woman!
Rhy is a soldier in life and his heart. He takes missions and he completes them. Nicky was supposed to be a mission but somewhere on the way everything changed. I really liked him. He is an alpha male with a really soft heart hidden.
The end of the book was really intense, full of action and suspense! I really loved it and my eyes were a bit wet somewhere there, I have to confess...I just missed an epilogue but I definitely recommend this book to everyone who likes a good romance with a healthy dose of action!

A nice suspenseful story.
Here we have Nicky and Rhy. Nicky had been running from her abusive and illegal-arms-dealing ex-husband for five years, constantly looking over her shoulder and securing her life and the life of her son. I can’t imagine living my life like that, stressed all the time and with the danger that you might die and leave you son an orphan. I liked Nicky and her strength, and how she tried to make things normal for her son constantly. The little guy was a sweetheart, and sadly he started to notice things more and more.
We also have Rhy, a security guy in charge of taking care of Nicky and her son, in order to find her ex-husband. He also had a huge secret, that only he and the readers knew about. So, yeah, I was pretty angry at this guy for this. He was a professional, and he couldn’t bother to do a background check on his next assignment? Huge mistake that ended up putting Nicky and her son in danger. Grrr, at least the guy felt bad for it and tried to make things better.
All in all, there was a little bit of everything in here. Suspense, romance, hotness, even a little bit of sweetness. I couldn’t put it down, and really wanted to see how things ended for these people.

An okay read overall 2.75
I wasn't sure of my opinion initially as I didn't feel particularly engaged in the story, but I was definitely sure that I didn't like Rhy. He made an error in judgement that put both Nicky and her son in danger and then on top of this he had an unappealing attitude. But the thing I found most annoying was that he was slow to realise some of the information he'd obtained via a source, that he later found to be corrupt, might in fact all be bad. Come on man it doesn't take a genius!
However I did find myself liking the main characters, both of main characters, more and more as the story progressed.
Rhy had the whole alpha guy thing going on but by the end of the story he was able to open up a little more emotionally.I especially enjoyed his interactions with Alex, an enjoyable read.

Is it a HEA, yeah… but it definitely takes some work for Nicky and Rhy to get there. She’s stubborn and he’s arrogant. So it’s the perfect match for drama and steamy romance. They spend most of their time trying to trust each other and their instincts, which didn’t always coincide.
It was a well crafted story that led you on a journey right along with Nicky and Rhy to find their own truth and salvation. I enjoyed the story and I felt like I needed to give both characters a stern talking to when needed. I would give it 4.5!

What an awesome read!! I loved Rhy from the beginning. There were some times where I wanted to smack him up side the head. He made mistakes just like anyone else. Rhy is in the security, and PI business. He is a tracker. He is called in for a job to pay a debt by Nicky's ex-husband, and he wants Rhy to hunt down Nicky and make it known that her ex is not done with her yet. Then Rhy realizes his mistake and that the man that hired him was actually the man he wanted to bring down for the death of his brother. Then Rhy meets Alex [Nicky's son] and falls in love with both. Rhy and Nicky start a very HOT sexual relationship, then Nicky finds some papers about her and reads them. If you want to know more you will need to buy this book. I truly loved this book from the beginning to the end.

I loved this book from start to finish! Mackenzie Crowne's IRRESISTIBLE DECEPTIONS is an incredible story and a stand-up example of why I love romantic suspense. Nicky and Rhy come alive on the page. They're both incredibly strong characters whose agendas are so far apart in the beginning, I had to wonder how they would ever get together. But the chemistry between these two is electric, and rest assured, they DO get their happily-ever-after. The road to their HEA is fraught with danger...and attraction! You'll love it too!
