Bobby is the brains behind the Devil Chasers' Motorcycle Club, a computer whiz who keeps his club a step ahead of the rest. The club is his family, and he would protect them at any cost.
When a rival club puts her in danger, Bobby's world is rocked to its core.
Combust: (verb) • to catch fire; burst into flame • to become suddenly angry (Noun) • the act or process of burning • rapid burn • violent excitement or passion
Sheppard’s devotion to his club was unquestionable. He would do anything for them, including giving his own life to protect his brothers’. He proved that the day he took a bullet for Bishop, the president of the Devil Chaser’s MC. He thought his life was over when he fell into the lake and got dragged under by the fast-paced current.
Ana’s world was crashing down around her. Her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor was being threatened. She felt lost, and she was quickly losing hope. The day she stumbled across a body by the lake, her instinct to his life overwhelmed her. She knew her life was complicated, but she couldn’t stop herself. She had to help him. When she looked into the handsome stranger’s eyes, she knew she would go to any lengths to save him.
Ana would do everything she could to save Sheppard’s life, but would he be able to do the same for her? When Ana’s past comes crashing into her future, will they be able to withstand the blast? Or will their love combust into flames?
I read the first 3 books individually and then got the box set with KU.
I loved watching this author's writing style evolve with each story she put out and by book 5, I believe she has found her stride as Ana and Sheppard's story flowed really well. I loved all the stories but I think Bobby and Courtney held a piece of my heart right from the beginning....and I really want to know what was the "gift" she gave Cindy.
A really fast paced boxed set that I enjoyed. I loved that throughout every book, we still got to see what the other couples where up to and how they were progressing. Each book is on the shorter side so at times felt a little rushed but overall an really good series! I will definitely be seeing what other series this author has on offer.
#1 - INFERNO - 4 Stars Good start to a series, only complaint is that is was a little on the short side and I felt like the story could have been fleshed out a bit more with some details, still enjoyable though. Bishop was super sexy and I do enjoy how he is getting the MC out of the illegal transactions, I don't mind a MC going good, I quite enjoy it. Still super sexy bikers who take care of any threats or business! I like Tessa, she was a no-nonsense kinda gal with a good head on her shoulders. I liked how she questioned things but listened as well! Lots of really great interesting MC brothers who I am really looking forward to reading about. Bring on the next one!
#2 - SMOLDER - 4 Stars Another enjoyable quick read, I really do wish there was a bit more development of the characters, it really is fast paced. Renegade annoyed me at times with his "I'm rejecting her to protect her from me" thing.. But once we know why its a bit like ugh, really. Without spoiling too much he was a kid protecting himself so I don't see why he thinks he is some monster not worthy of love. He of course had his sexy good points and his strong need to protect Taylor. Taylor though was a really strong character, she went through a lot in this book but never really lost her cool. I like how this author writes really strong lead female characters. Again great interactions with the rest of the MC brothers who I look forward to reading about. Overall a good addition to the series.
#3 - IGNITE - 4.5 Stars Goliath has interested me from the start and I'm glad he gets his story. This was a great read again and while on the short side I still enjoyed seeing Goliath and Lily's road to their HEA. Add in the JW element of cuteness and how Goliath was with him and my heart melted. Bit of a surprise around JW and why Lily had to run with him. Lily thought Goliath was a bit of a jerk to begin with but can't fight her intense attraction to him and quickly allows him into her heart. Goliath see's Lily and wants her for his own and is very possessive and protective of her. Some drama with the arrival of another MC or gang making their way into town that the Devil Chaser's handle. Great seeing all the previous characters again and seeing how their relationships are progressing. While I enjoyed this one I did feel I was left with some questions at the end. especially with Lily's mother and Maverick etc. Just felt a little unfinished to me. Overall a great quick addition to the series. Looking forward to the next one.
#4 - CONSUMED - 4 Stars We have seen a bit of Bobby and Courtney's relationship develop over the previous books and I have my moments of loving Courtney and then being annoyed by her at times. I totally get that she is this feisty bombshell who is not backwards in coming forwards but it was a little OTT at times. Poor Bobby seemed a little whipped at times and I personally am not a fan of that. Thankfully it wasn't all the time and she did have redeeming qualities as well. Bobby was the tech geek of the MC and the go to man when things hit the fan or when important formation was needed. I liked that he had all these brains under his seemingly harmless persona and could get the job done for the club when needed. I think Courtney gave him a bit of a hard time occasionally but he really did feel strongly for her, it was just her impatience that cause the separation. Again great seeing the other characters and I like that they are all still there but don't take the spotlight off the two main characters. Overall a good addition to the series!
#5 - COMBUST - 3 Stars I'll start by saying yes I liked it, but it all was just glossed over really quick. I personally just want more to sink my teeth into. I still love how they met and the journey they took but for an MC read it was sugary sweet. Everything was resolved really quickly with no real surprises along the way. It kinda sounds negative but honestly I enjoyed it I just wanted more from this couple. I did find it hard to accept that he didn't contact the MC when he was well enough to and just waltzes back in after the weeks he was away. The MC takes on Ana's problems and help her get a resolution to them, a bit of drama there but again its all dealt with super quick and with a minimal of fuss. As the series ender book I do feel a little unsatisfied with some loose ends not being ties up to my satisfaction. An ok addition to the series.
The thing that that gets me is this box set was done back in 2015 and I am just reading this in 2020 so needless to say it is amazing how someones reading taste changes from time to time and especially over time as I looked back thru my KU ... wow .. hahahaha I sadly Digress...any way back to my review for "Devil Chasers" .... What I love most about box sets is that you the reader get to stay indulged in one place for a nice long while and be totally consumed and this is what happens with this series. Our first couple are .. Bishop & Tess ... Prez and Teacher :) what a combination right :) usually most authors need to hit it out of the ball park ... to make sure the reader is invested enough to carry on. Well this is exactly what Ms. Wilder does with Bishop and Tess's story. none of the guys are too over the top ... what I mean by this is they are like just normal fellas which is great. All the guys had great banter and they had that amazing comradry that seems to only happen in the MC or Military world. Tess was a great lead character and her relationship with her kids and her BFF Court were really good. For me I think the only thing that lacked was any interaction between Bishop and Tess's two kids. I mean everyone knows when you have split families it imperative that each parent get on with their partners kids. You saw lots of interaction between Tess and Noah aka Bishop but you saw basically none with Bishop and Dylan or Izzy which was a readers loss.Still an enjoyable first book.
Next up is .....Renegade and Taylor This was a bit torn between angst and yet nice read.... Kinda like a love / hate .. romance from day one Best friends little sister thing .. ya know hands off type deal .. till Ace is faded from the story :( ... Great characters, great storyline. other Brothers come through in this story.
Goliath & Lucy get to be next :) These two come together. and the sweet baby John Warren is a nice addition and to see how Goliath steps up. There are twist in this story that give / gave it that little bit of a boost with Maverick (daddy) showing up. another MC called Red Dragons and well some really upsetting moments for some of the characters thta to share would be spoiling the book for you so .... get the box set and read so you can enjoy the books yourselves :)
Bobby aka Crack Nut .. hahahahaha & Courtney Bff to Tess Many will probably say this story was a pretty predictable one but still enjoyable all the same. Bobby wasn't really a character that was a shining star but was great at what he did do....he is mentioned pretty much thru out here and there and usually made fun of due to his name much up until now. He fell in love with Court and their love became a force of nature.
Then we get the awesome ... Sheppard & Ana For me... this was my favourite story in this series. I mean seriously reading it... I was heartbroken with what happened and how the brothers searched and searched and then reading how they felt .... taking a step outside of the MC.... BUT to share any of what happens to Sheppard would be nothing but a spoiler. Honestly for me I enjoyed this story the most ... I think because I always wanted to find a true man like Sheppard :) Shepperds character os .... well for me an awesome character the whole way and so to see him get his story and a lovely leading Lady was a great way to finish this series. :)
The thing that I love most about box sets is that I get to stay indulged in one place for a nice long while and be totally consumed and this is what happened with this series.
Bishop & Tess
Being the first book in a series the author needs to hit it out of the ball park to make sure the reader is invested enough to carry on. Well yep that happened with Bishop and Tess.
The thing I like the most about this series is none of the guys were too over the top which was great. All the guys had great banter and they had that amazing comradry that only happens in the MC world.
Tess was a great lead character and her relationship with her kids and Court were really good.
For me I think the only thing that lacked was any interaction between Bishop and Tess's two kids. I mean everyone knows when you have split families it imperative that each parent get on with their partners kids. You saw lots of interaction between Tess and Noah but you saw basically none with Bishop and Dylan or Izzy which was a real shame.
Still an enjoyable first book.
Renegade and Taylor
This was a nice easy read as well. Great lead characters and easy storyline. Nice to see some of the other Brothers coming through in this story.
Goliath & Lucy
I enjoyed these two coming together. JW was a nice addition to this story and to see how Goliath stepped up. The twist in this story gave it that little bit of a boost with Maverick showing up.
Bobby & Courtney
This story was pretty predictable but still enjoyable all the same. Bobby wasn't really a character that shone through much up until now. Court was a force of nature. Glad they got their HEA.
Sheppard & Ana
For me I think this was my first equal favourite story (Goliath & Lucy) in this series. It was a breath of fresh air to take a step outside of the MC immediate area.
I have liked Shepperds character the whole way and so to see him get his story and lovely leading Lady was a great way to finish this series.
Overall I did enjoy this series. It was easy to read and had a great flow to it. The characters are nice and lovely and easy to invest in.
I chose this rating because this was a really great series. I enjoyed most of the characters. They were on point, the DC bikers. This series of books was about compassion, loyalty, retribution, and just overall being there for one another. I enjoyed each and every story. Each story had its own plot. These books were really interesting to see not so much is to see, but to read a day in the life of an MC biker. I know this is not reality. But overall this was a really great set of books. Oh the ladies really enjoyed their sexy, and strong bikers. Great read. I recommend this series to all romance and MC lovers.
Wow.. Such great stories in this box set. I think my favorite couple is Sheppard & Anna's stories. Not sure why but they make a awesome couple. Bishop & Tessa was a great story. That book just sucks you right in & your hooked. I really hope this is not the end.. So many brothers who need books about them. Keep up the awesome work... I recommend this stories and the Author. Be sure to read them all in order or you will be lost.. PS I love the stuff Courtney comes up with & during to know what she put in the Fallen girls bed...
Another MC winner by L Wilder. I can't tell you which story is my favorite in this set. I loved them all. I especially like how each story flows into the next and how all the MC characters are in each book. Their lady loves are awesome! Especially Courtney. She is a hoot. I'd be sitting here reading and start laughing out loud by something she would say. My hubby would give me the oddest looks. I'd just smile, shrug and continue. Lots of what you expect from Club life for sure. This series will be reread A LOT!!!!
Bishop, Goliath, Renegade, Crack Nut, and Sheppard ... OMG I love them all. Strong, rough but so full of love for their women and their brothers. I started reading L. Wilder’s books with Satan’s Fury MC and loved her writing so much that I read the full boxed set, the novella, moved on to Nitro and Max’s books, then Satan’s Fury - Memphis and now the Devil Chaser’s!!! I can’t get enough of her books. Please, please, please read!!! You will not regret it.
I loved bed every book in this set. Stayed up way too late cause I could not leave them unfinished. Loved the MC alphas and the strong females they fell hard for and as always they made certain to protect their women and family. Hot sexy scenes expertly interwoven into the story. I thoroughly enjoyed each one. I am now going to listen to the audible versions and read more by this author.
I truly loved all the books, the couples and the dramas they got into. But I can honestly say I really really disliked the books. I only listened to them because I had already paid for them and I couldn’t return them. However the last one…. I could not see Shepard as a hot biker, he sounded like Walter Brennan( and I loved Walter ) but I just had to stop the sound and read the book.
MC five book series. Each book about different member/brother. It wasn't hard core sex, drugs, and guns. It's about the relationships between the brothers and the women who steal their hearts. They do have some trouble with other MC's and some other outside drama, but it is not over done or too drawn out. I enjoyed this series and would recommend.
There is so much love and lust in these beautiful stories. They take my breath away. True , deep , honest love is hard to find. Sometimes it's even hard to recognize amid all the lust. These stories have it all and then some. Agonizing suspense is evident also, along with a few really good giggles. Read and enjoy the ride!
Wow. The boxed set started out a bit slow reading for me. But oh boy, it didn't stay like that for long. I went in blindly and bought a lot of books from an unknown author, for me. Impressive. I'm looking forward to a long relationship. All the guys and gals are pretty awesome in this series. Looking forward the the rest in another series
This is what got me started on books written by L Wilder. I just finished her most current Satan's Fury: Memphis Chapter and had to go back to where it all began for me. I read the Devil Chasers individually and couldn't put them down. Each character is unique and each book tugs at your heart. Great alpha men finding the right women for their life.
This is definitely a must read. This series is absolutely great. You have it all strong military men who are alpha males brought down by quirky funny and loving women each are strong in their own ways. The final book is such a shocker who would have thought it could happen just wow.
This is a great box set and I am happy it is out together. This series is jam packed full if of action, emotion, suspense and romance. I won't get into all of the hot love scenes but yes, they are scattered throughout the stories as well. If you are a fan of steamy romances then you will enjoy this box set.
The five bikers chosen all bring something unique and the females that they develop relationships are so different... a teacher and doctor for example. I felt the author lost her way in book 4 of this 5 book collection and found it hard to read. Nonetheless, I recommend this collection.
Another great box set by L. Wilder who knows how to tell terrific stories about the biker world. The stories are so different how the men find their rightful partners just to many to pick out each one you just have to read and get immersed in their adventures with happy ever afters till the end. Great read .
This series was very interesting. I've read a lot of MC books and these fall I to a really good read. I wished that Bulldog and Otis had found their true love but I guess you can't have it all!
I loved this complete collection of stories about the Devil Chasers. Each one showcased the intricate workings of MC life, the men, and the women each chose to live life with.
Thus box set took me on one hell of an amazing ride. I loved everything about these stories and wish they never ended. I love the way the words just flew off the pages. I could not stop reading. L Wilder is an amazing writer.
While the first 3 books are good they are lacking that something special that makes them amazing. They needed a little more passion, and a little less miscommunication. Stick with it though because book 4 is great and book 5 is out of this world!
I loved reading this series. The flow from book to book was seamless. The characters were great, there wasn't one I didn't like and that's unusual for me. Definitely recommend sitting down with a cup of coffee and diving in to the Devil Chaser's MC world!
I loved these stories. And the fact they were all in one box set made it that much better. Loved this MC series and these guys were HOT! Plus the sassy strong women they found. Great read!
Yes really enjoyed this series. I wish we got more from the other couples as the story line went on I found that I wanted more. I would recommend this series for sure it has just the right amount of suspense and steamy romance to keep you hooked.
Loved this Devil Chasers MC romance series ! Can’t believe I have never read it before. Every story flowed effortlessly and it was so easy to find yourself in their world. Totally recommend it 🔥😍🔥
These books are each a different story ,but take you to the rest. They have everything that a woman wants for herself and to find.Love me a bossy man and love Harleys.
