Jackie Ivie was born and raised in a suburb outside Utah's capital, beautiful Salt Lake City. The second in a family of four daughters and one son, Jackie was constantly amusing her siblings with her invented games, escapades, and stories. And she was always reading. She would even walk the family dog, with one hand holding the leash, while the other held the ever-present book. No subject went unread, but once she discovered Historical Romances, there was no doubting her favorite genre.

Jackie has always been the busy type, rarely sitting still without being occupied in at least one activity, and usually more. When she was younger, it was nothing to find her watching television, while doing her homework, listening to music, crocheting like a madwoman, and reading, all at the same time.

After graduating, Jackie gained secure employment with a large service company and relocated with her growing family to the neighboring, sparsely-populated state of Wyoming. She then spent several years enjoying the wildlife, scenery, and open space that Wyoming is known for. In addition to writing, Jackie is an accomplished artist in several mediums, preferring mixed media. She has several pictures in print and has exhibited in art showings throughout the West. There was never anything she loved doing more than reading, however, and once she discovered the thrill involved with putting her own words and fantasies on paper there was no stopping her.

In 2001, Jackie and her family took a huge step and moved to the largest state of the nation; Alaska. Although it was her job that brought her here, Jackie has grown to love this land of amazing contrasts, breathtaking vistas, and the ever-present resident, the Alaskan moose. There's nothing else like it, and the very long days of summer lend themselves to hours and hours of energizing tasks, while the long winter nights are just right for her real love...writing.

Jackie has now written thirteen novels and is continually starting more. The thrill of writing has now been enhanced by seeing her actual story in print. Lady of the Knight is her first published work. It will be followed by Tender is the Knight scheduled for release this summer.

The Fallen (Vampire Assassin League – 2 Pack Bundle) by Jackie Ivie is a bundle of two previously separately released Vampire Assassin League stories. All of these short stories are fun, very fast reads that have an imaginative variation in locations and characters. They are all tied together by a godlike boss named Akron and the side story of each vampire finding their mate.

Forsaking has Bram Stark, a cowboy vampire finding his mate in Marielle, who is an artist sent to repaint the signs in the Ghost Town he lives under. All Others has Cameron, a paranormal researcher finding his mate in the vampire assassin, Tessa Queen set in the bayous of Louisiana.

These are short stories of around 100 pages that are fun to read if you want something light and quick. The writing was good and the characters make you smile. Nothing deep, just entertaining.

Thank you to Jackie Ivie, LLC and Net Galley for a free copy of this bundle in exchange for an honest review.

3 stars!

I will start by telling you that these are the first books that I've read from this series and probably I am not as objective as I should be.

Although I love vampires, these stories felt empty and slow. I was hoping for intense stories with amazing events taking place. Instead, I've read two short stories about vampires finding their mate forever without the excitement that I was hoping for, although there was fighting and action!

I have to admit that the writing was good and the stories made me smile more than once. The characters were unique in their way but they had no depth.

Both of the stories ended quite expected and with a good feeling.

First thing here, these are not totally new stories, they were released mid 2015 and have been bundled into this duo since they are books 26 & 27 respectively in the series.

I should mention that this series is more of a collection of stand-alone stories it seems (I have not read them all so if that is incorrect let me know) that has only a almost godlike boss Akron and an assistant Lizbeth are the only 2 characters connecting these stories.

OK, now to the stories, the first one "Forsaking" I enjoyed but it started out fast and good, slowed down for a chapter or so, then picked back up in a really bad example of instalove followed by some really cheesy love making scenes (the heroines lines were cringe inducing) BUT all things considered it was a good story with a great ending for Bram and Marielle.

OK, story #2 is "All Others" (put the titles together in case you have missed yet another reason these two stories were pair up). It also has absolutely zero connection with the first story other than the 2 aforementioned characters. I actually liked this story better even with the instalove there were no cheesy lines being thrown around and it had a much better plot but I should mention story #1 was more a personal redemption type story.

Bottom Line: The author seems to have a knack for writing stories of about 100 pages and there are many times that is what I want for an evening, I think I will buy a few more of these just to keep for such times. They were very good overall, they were short, required no real previous knowledge and when you finished you had been entertained. All things considered I am giving this 4 Stars which might be a bit high compared to a 4 Star novel but for a 100 page story (or 2 of them in this case) it was done rather well. A bit of romance (well a very small bit, we are talking about "I will die for her" love after a few hours) but set that aside and the rest of these stories are entertaining so yeah, 4 Stars it is.

This two pack bundle of previously released novels offers a quick introduction to Jackie Ivie's Vampire Assassins League. Both are short books and do not go into much detail of the VAL (being books 26 and 27 in the series), but this did not affect my overall enjoyment of the stories.

The first book is Foresaking and is Bram and Marielle's story, the second is All Others and Tessa and Cameron's story. The stories are set at different times and not connected, other than Bram and Tessa working for the VAL. I like the idea here that when a vampire meets their destined human mate, their heart can start beating again and they can start feeling emotions. The instalove/lust obviously leads to plenty of very steamy scenes, but their are also twists and other action thrown in. I will probably go back to read some of the previous books in the series.

Bran lived in a ghost town under Bar number 8 he was a vampire. Bran had been a cattle driver in the back of the cattle and then had become a gun slinger to a sheriff to a wanted man with a price on his head. There was a small town close by that had two thriving casinos. Bran than heard a young woman scream , Bran knew he shouldn’t interfere but did anyway. He got shot by the woman for all his trouble but that brought forth his blood lust. Marielle is an artist stuck repainting signs and saying no to marriage proposals from a rich man- she would have been wife number six.
I usually love vampire stories but this one just didn’t keep my interest.I had hoped it would liven up but it didn’t as far as I was concerned. So I read this but just didn’t get out of it as a story as I wanted
