Book two of the Colloway Brothers brings us the story of Asher and Alyse. We meet both of these characters in Forsaking Grey, Alyse is introduced as Livia’s little sister and a heated exchange between her and Asher provided the perfect set up for their story.
A love story that was set eight years ago, with eight years of heartache placed before the first kiss and the next – both of them have built walls to ensure their hearts remain protected. But Asher isn’t about to let go of her just yet.
When the chance to bring her to Chicago to work on a case of embezzlement, Archer jumps at it. Getting her into bed was the easy part though, if he wants to get into her heart – he’s going to have to work for it.
I adored this story. It captured a few themes I love in a romance; second chances and although Alyse was Livia’s little sister – and not Asher’s “friend’s little sister” – there was still this protectiveness that was there. With both characters holding on to the past and their pain, it was heartbreaking to watch as they finally opened up and shared with one another.
I loved that the slow reveal of their scars built up the anticipation so much that I just couldn’t put this book down. K.L. Kreig’s venture in to contemporary romance is a hit! I love this series to pieces and I can’t wait for the next two books in this series.
I just couldn’t help but fall in love with both characters. Alyse was likable, hell, lovable and Asher (sigh) was delicious. The story was complex, the characters had depth and the sexy times had me squirming in my chair. I loved how possessive and dominant Asher was. It was primal and it felt right – not overdone. No claims or growly demands for the sake of turning up the heat, it was just perfect.
If you are looking for your next alpha romance series; look no further. The Colloway Brothers is it. Easily a top favorite read of 2015 and with the next two set to release in 2016, I have no doubts that it will remain a favorite of 2016 as well.

This is just perfect.
It has amazing main and side characters and a plot which is not a cliché but quite unique, unexpected and solid. The author creates layers to the story and makes it suspenseful. The book's content is rich with thoughtfulness and deep perceptions into the real meaning of love. It's a touching second chance love story that will make you cry, laugh, hurt, hope and learn.
This is a well told tale where expectations, family and hopes for the future all play significant roles and are amended as the characters get to know each other. It has humour, sexual tension, and writing that flows.It is at times a bit cheesy but never over-dramatic or super dreamy. It's full of raw, sincere, authentic emotion and it deals with love in all its forms and with all the doubts that come with it, yet somehow it keeps an easygoing tone all the way to the end, making it a light but substantial read.
All Alyse has ever felt and experienced is abandonement, betrayal, loneliness and rejection. Almost everyone she's ever cared about has let her down.
Now, reconciled with her fate and her tormented past, she looks forward of days of happiness and peace of mind.
Asher has been betrayed by the woman he loved. His wounded ego and broken trust don't give him peace.
He knows he needs to move on and he wants to do it with his first big love, Alyse. Alyse is now single and he's determined to conquer her, body and soul.
Together they will realize that the only way out of hurt and anger is through love. In order to heal and love, one has to forgive. And, only when Alysse and Asher tell the truth to each other can they find true healing.
Alysse with her abandonement issues and Asher with his kinky, dominant and possessive nature are both adorable, if occasionally frustrating. Their love story is sometimes tear-inducing and very much heartwarming.
All in all, beautiful storytelling that each and every contemporary romance reader needs to indulge in. I was very caught up in this book, couldn't put it down.

I liked this one even more than I did the previous one. These books are about the Calloway brothers. Two sets of twins to be precise. Each book is about a different brother and can be read as a stand alone. So far, books 1 and 2 are second chance romances. The men are delicious and the women are strong. Just how I like my MC's
Asher was so delicious, I loved his dirty mouth and he also has some kink going on;)
The heroine was also great..she didn't have an easy life, but she was so strong and really sweet.
These books are sweet, romantic, extremely hot and heartbreaking at times. They also have an element of suspence going on. You know something is gonna happen, you just don't know, what or when. I really enjoy this surprise factor ;) There are a lot of secrets in these books though, so if you hate secrets and even miscommunication because of them, than consider yourself warned. I however understood why some of those secrets were hard to share... keeping things to yourself is not always the smartest thing to do, but letting go and sharing your darkest parts can't be easy either.
Can't wait to read the next book about bad boy Luke. Addy sounds like a very fun and feisty heroine, but I know she is hiding some secrets...wonder what they are..

I have been missing in action for the past week from GR, and I haven't been able to read much either...mainly due to company...My company is now gone, and I am very happy to be back!! I have missed all my GR buddies so much!!!
As far as this Book #2 in the Colloway Brothers series, I will go out on a limb and say that this is a MUST read!!! This one was even better than the first, and Asher (the hero in this one) is sexy as hell, and let us not forget that he is majorly dominant...oh and he has quite the kinky side!!! I won't say what his fetish is...but he does fear telling his women what it is for fear they will think him weird...His heroine Alyse will hopefully accept him for who he his and for what he likes!!
I do have to say that this installment seemed to be way more on the sexy side of life than the first! The sex between Asher and Alyse was so darn hot!!! Holy hell, even I blushed at some of these scenes! Ms. Kreig did a wonderful job of writing this one, and keeping me engaged into this story.
This couple has quite a bit of history...and they were both introduced in the first book. Even with their history though, they have a lot to learn about one another. They both harbor things about themselves that no one knows. If and when they develop the courage to let each other into their hearts; their relationship has the potential to be absolutely perfect!
I adore these two as a couple, and I rooted for them the whole time.
Another great read in this series, and I can't wait to see what the other brothers will bring to the table!!

K.L. Kreig is a goddess of romance. I swear, every single one of her books puts my heart through the ringer--in a brilliant way! Undeniably Asher was no exception. Crafted with the same care that went into the characters from the first installment, Asher and Alyse were hot, possessive, steamy and beautifully in love. They may be my favorite couple so far. Although...I can't wait for Luke's story! I think that will tear my heart right up, but I completely trust my heart to Kreig. In her capable hands, she's sure to bring the heat! Don't miss out on this amazing series! I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

Well, I thought Gray was lush and then along comes Asher…damn these Colloway brothers come from a mighty fine gene pool. Not only are they all smoking hot but they are adorable, fiercely protective and just genuine really nice guys. This story centres around Asher and Alyse, Asher is Gray’s brother and Alyse is Livia’s sister, they were both introduced in Forsaking Gray where our appetites were whetted.
Asher was lost when it came to women, he had been betrayed once and hurt badly so his heart was now firmly guarded. He had his hook ups but that is all they were, a means to an end…a release. Asher has trust issues, he doesn’t let anyone in, but he is lonely and although he would never admit it, he wanted to love and be loved. Asher was passionate, he was dominant and possessive, he was sexy as sin but he had that vulnerable side and it was this side that really spoke to me. Asher worked with his brother Gray and he too was a work-a-holic, the Colloway’s loved their company and their staff so when Asher is alerted to potential embezzlement he is out for blood.
Alyse was broken too, all she had ever felt was abandonment and betrayal, everyone she loved…left or let her down, she was lonely and dejected. She threw herself into her work and her new company that she was struggling to get off the ground. She had jumped in with both feet and even though she was great at her job, she needed the experience and client testimonies to back up her credentials. She was a forensic accountant and a mighty good one at that, if only potential clients didn’t see a young, naïve woman and actually saw the number crunching wizard that she was.
This love story started eight years’ prior, Asher and Alyse had met before, had shared a kiss before they were rudely interrupted. But that one kiss had stayed with the both them. Now there was only one question left when their paths cross once again…would it be another eight years? Embezzlement requires the need for a forensic accountant and with their siblings getting married Asher is reminded of the woman that is definitely up for the task…in more ways than one. Could this be the introduction that he needs, he never forgot that kiss and as it turns out, neither did she.
These two had chemistry that was off the charts, but both Asher and Alyse were emotionally scarred, they both had trust issues, they both guarded their hearts so on the outside they should have never worked. But sometimes it takes a person knowing what the other is feeling to really “get them” and these two understood each other perfectly. However, you still had that shall I, shan’t I, once you have protected yourself for so long, it is hard to let anyone in…no matter how hard they knock.
I loved the slow build with this book, KL Kreig really unwraps her characters slowly and meticulously and it is this that really builds that character connection with the reader. We have that getting to know you stage, that re-connection and while they are quite happy bumping uglies for a while it is that opening up fully and whole heartedly that really hammers home the importance and the significance of what these two were doing for each other. It is hard sometimes to understand the ramifications of heart break and KL Kreig really hammered home the emotional turmoil that it leaves behind, those constant reminders and that reticence to let anyone in. The heart and head remember…always.
I loved both of these characters, even all their insecurities and they were the perfect fit, two pieces of a puzzle, they brought out the best in each other and cemented over each-others cracks. They may have been broken before, but together they were unstoppable. I also loved catching up with Gray and Livia and yes I still want more…but we have two more brothers to come, Luke and Conn and I cannot wait!!

***FIVE FANTASTIC STARS!!!***
This is the third story I have read by K.L. Kreig, and I've gotta tell you, I'm positively in love with her story telling. Kreig’s Black Swan Affair was amazing, but this Colloway series is even better. I loved, loved, LOVED this story. I loved Gray’s story, but Asher’s was ten times better for me. K.L. Kreig literally elicited every one of those feelings that we go through when we are falling in love, in this story. Every emotion that Asher and Alyse experienced felt so real to me.
This story had all the elements that I adore:
(1) A slow scorching hot build up to the actual sex (they didn’t just fall in bed immediately).
(2) An over the top, possessive alpha with the filthiest mouth that made me melt in every way possible.
And…..
(3) Some of the hottest sex scenes I’ve ever read. Asher and Alyse had sex many times and It never got boring. I loved every single scene.
This story had some crazy over the top drama and a fair amount of angst in it, with another ending that was absolutely unpredictable. This story had me tearing up several times in it, while my husband watched me thinking I’m nuts crying over a story. Lol The only thing that was a bit frustrating is Alyse holding all her secrets until the very end of the story and not letting Asher in. A lot of drama could have been prevented if she had just been honest with him. I loved this story though. All the emotions it put me through made that tiny bit of frustration tolerable.
I loved every second of this amazing love story. I’m diving into the last two Colloway brothers' stories next I really hope they are as good as this one was!

I absolutely ADORED this book. Now, second chance romances have a special place in my heart, so when I get one that is this good, I melt into a pile of goo. GOO people!
One aspect of this book that is so nice, so heartwarming, is the vulnerability of both H and h. I was blown away by Kreig's ability to mesh hot-alpha with this vulnerability. Not once did I think, "Oh, don't be such a sissy" (which is a common occurrence in my experience) when Asher would allow that side of him to show. Instead, his moments of tenderness were endearing.
Alyse, wow is she a great character. Her fear is palpable, yet not once did she come off whiney. I cannot stand annoying heroines. Bitchy (with reason), fine. Depressed, also fine. Whiney, not fine. Alyse is smart (thank goodness), driven, ambitious, and utterly captivated by Asher.
The push and pull of their relationship is interesting and engaging. The progression was not super fast or terribly slow; it was well timed and well written. And the sparks... holy hell I think my kindle started smoking!!!

This was ok, but the similarities between this and the rest of the books in the series are wearing a little thin. I love an alpha/caveman hero, but Asher was simultaneously a caveman and a sap who said some really wet things that sounded more like a greeting card than a man. Seems like the whole Colloway clan has a thing for getting freaky in public which isn't my favourite kink, although this writer definitely writes some incredibly hot, intense smut.
Still, it was ok, just not as enjoyable as Gray 's story (books 0.5 & 1)
Complete story that's supposed to be standalone but I think you'd miss too much of the backstory by diving straight into this one.

When you protect yourself for so long, it is hard to let people in no matter how hard they try. I think that we all have a past that hunts us, but to move on we can't keep looking back. We have to let go and forgive.
Oh, but Alyse...forgiveness is freeing. Healing. In both mind and spirit.

I liked this one better than the first book bc of the H's intensity. He was desperately consumed by the h. He was SUPER INSANE possessive, obsessive, and jealous. He would get angry and jealous whenever he saw another man talking to the h. The best part was he didn't blame the h but the guy. I was disappointed at the parallels of this story with the first book. There were just too many similarities in the stories. I thought some of the twists were too OTT and ridiculous. Plus, every man featured in this story is very handsome. My biggest gripe with the story was I didn't understand Beck's OTT reaction or why he did what he did. When we do get an explanation it does not excuse what he did or why he behaved that way. I thought the h was too much of a b*$@& in the beginning. She was too angry, resentful, and self-absorbed with her own issues. I will be reading the next book which I hope has a different story.

I feel I may be doing this book an injustice because possibly it's a case of wrong book at the wrong time.
I will be honest: I could only finish this book because I skim-read it. It still took me some 7hrs+ over 4 days to do that. I found that the plot dragged too much, with too much inner monologues and not enough moving ahead. It felt like a snoozefest most of the time.
Plus, I think that the whole romance kind of fell through for me because some part of me could not connect with the supposed initial chemistry between the leads. Don't get me wrong. Their relationship was decently written and plotted. But I had a hard time to accept that they suddenly found themselves so deeply and quickly in love (and apparently the powerful-once-in-a-lifetime-kind-of-love) eight years after they met and with rare interactions between them in the intervening years (). The way it was written, I did not buy their epic chemistry and from there, it sadly tainted the whole romance blooming between them. Yes, the spicy scenes were steamy but since I did not connect with the very premise of them, it tainted that too for me.
Getting past the first two third of the plot, I have to admit the last story twists had very good bones. At last the answers were coming. Some made more sense than other bits (re: ), but I measured the depth of the author's talent to come up with a compelling plot with depth. But still too late for me to really champion for the main couple. As I said the whole of it felt unfortunately vitiated for me from the very start.

3/4 of this was 2 stars. Then the sex club and the plot twist ending hit and I’ll bump it up to 3 Stars.
This was a difficult one to get through. It was so damn
s l o w for me. I was bored out of my mind. If I wasn’t so stubborn, I would’ve dnf’d at 125 pages. Then, I’m disappointed too because this was so similar to the first book; girl is in love with a boy, girl and boy are separated, girl has secret, girl loses baby, secret hurts second chance relationship, plot twist of a character, secret comes out and relationship is mended.
Also… I read romance for the feel goods. NOT to feel bad for the guy that doesn’t get the girl. Ugh.
Asher needs an auditor, he hires Alyse’s company- to get closer to Alyse, and because he trusts her. Alyse accepts the job because her company is sinking and they could use the contract. Alyse temporarily moves from Detroit to Chicago to work on the job.
Asher was in love with a woman named Natalie, who he caught in bed with her coworker. Asher was going to propose to Natalie and her infidelity and abortion scarred him deeply. He’s scared to let anyone else in, but he’s always been attracted to Alyse, and now they’re finally in the same city.
Alyse, Livia’s sister, was with Beck when she was 18. She got pregnant, told Beck, and he lost his ever loving mind, crashing them in the car. Beck died, Alyse lost her baby. After the accident, Alyse was suicidal. She tried to opt out twice. She never told her sister, Livia, what happened. Alyse hides herself from the world. Her mother left when she was 4, her father was a gambling addict and that got in the way of him being a good father, and Livia left her too. She doesn’t know if she can let someone in to see the real her, even though she’s attracted to Asher and feels as though he could be the one.
Livia had to marry a mobster to pay her fathers debts. Unbeknownst to Alyse, Livia took her place. That is why Livia disappeared from Alyse’s life. Livia never told Alyse. Livia keeps the secret to herself, even struggling (in book 1) to tell her fiancé, Gray (Asher’s older brother).

I’m feeling a little bit of awe and a whole lot of love right now. Asher is PERFECTION. Let the alpha male wash over you, ladies. His growly demands will leave you weak in the knees and even his sad attempts to rein in his jealousy left me swooning. However what will have you pushing your thighs together to try to alleviate your sudden need is Asher’s instant vulnerability and heartstopping devotion.

Years later, Alyse has managed to create a fantastic life for herself. She has her own company and she’s determined to make it – on her own. But when Asher steps back into her personal bubble she’s not sure if she can even speak. He washes away every thought in her head and lights her body on fire. But Asher has always been a manwhore – and Alyse is not interested in being a notch on his bedpost.

As far as twists and turns, this one will hold you to the burner while you watch Alyse’s life simultaneously explode in joy and implode in fear. That smart and sassy girl just has to hold on to her secrets until she’s risking everything she’s so desperate to protect.
Erotic, sensual, romantic, sweet, AND OH SO DIRTY. Undeniably Asher is undeniably fantastic. 5 stars!

I am in love! Asher is my new Book Husband (boyfriend isn't good enough.)
I think I am going to fall for all the brothers if this story is anything to go by.
Although this is book 2, and it states that it can be read as a stand alone, I was desperate to know the secrets of book 1, Forsaking Gray. This story seemed to have holes that were only slightly filled by the eventual confession but.... BUT... I still devoured every single word.
Boy is this book hot.
We find Alyse at age 18 is madly in love with her boyfriend Beck. No spoilers but it ends abruptly...
8 years later Alyse is still broken. She is a little bit in love with Asher, who's brother, Gray, is marrying Alyse's sister, Livia, who she had a bit of a summer fling with when she was 17.
Both of these lovelies are broken from past relationships. Both desperately not wanting to be hurt again.
Very well written and perfectly absorbing.Well deserving of more than 5 stars. I have already bought book 1 and will wait patiently for the next 2 brothers stories.

KL Kreig continues to amaze! Undeniably Asher is the perfect mix of heat and heart!
KL, I am on to you! This is not my first rodeo. I have read everyone of this ladie's books and she gets me every damn time. Every time, I scream in frustration! Every time, my heart is shredded! Every time, I swear never again and every damn time, KL manages to make it all better and leaves me begging for more! GAH!
Asher, oh Asher! His sexy, bossy, alpha ways got my libido revving but it was his tender vulnerable side that won my heart. KL managed to create a vulnerability in Asher that did not expose a weakness to his alpha nature but strengthened it. Creating a near perfect hero.
Alyse may well be my favorite heroine that KL has written. I loved how she was able to submit to Asher's bossy ways without ever letting him think he had the upper hand. Her strength inspired me and her secret broke me.
Undeniably Asher is an incredibly sexy tale with a heart and a soul!

I would slay dragons. I would walk through hell. I would wage through wars. I would lie and cheat and steal and kill for you. I’d break every fucking law and commandment for no one else but you.
Cherry-popping is always fun for me. Discovering new author and new people to stalk. It’s always a mix of hesitation and excitement for me. But I love to be surprised, so…
I actually had a hard time connecting with the characters at first and it took me long enough to really get them. I guess it was that on the first few percentage, I thought it was like the same with all the million-billion-love out there that it is so predictable with I’m-rich-I’ll-offer-you-the-moon-and-the-stars-with-my-money stuff. But well, I was definitely wrong.
Part of it was maybe because I didn’t get how the prologue was supposed to be this big struggle in the story. I mean, there was this two broken souls who found each other again and they want to give this something between them a chance. And I was thinking, it should have been about them. But, there was more than what it should be, I guess and as the story progress, I’ve come to like Asher Colloway. Yes, I was in for this man.
He’s asking for permission, even though I already gave it. He’s asking for trust, when it’s already his. He’s asking me to be sure.
Asher Colloway. A jaded man who decided to give his all because deep in his soul, he have found someone worth fighting for. What I love about him is that he is intelligent, and that he thinks everything through. Well, okay. He’s an asshole with his neanderthal and irrational jealousy but I love that about him. He gives it all in everything he does and there is more than just being the dominant bossy way that he is. He is in fact a very complicated man.
Alyse Kingsley. Broken soul who have loved and thought that everyone she loved left her in some point of her life. What I love about her though is that she is independent and brave. Brave to try and give something a chance and brave enough to survive what she has been through. Well, okay. Also, her profession. I like that it was given detail, plus the work that she have done, and yeah, I noticed some working back and cross-referencing on details. It would have been a bummer if not, considering I’m very familiar with her line of work.
“Why did it take me so long to find you again?”
I actually have an issue with the ‘recalling of a situation’ (I can’t, for the life of me, remember the right phrase). But on some occasions, I was in point of fact glad it was written that way. It makes me think of the situation in a different light and different perspective and I think it was how the author intended it to be. Not on how you would feel during that particular scene is happening but the way the character is trying to understand how that scene unfold.
From the 40% mark, I’ve become invested and thought this is a beautiful love story and at the end, it was really. It is not just about love and family and letting people in, but of second chances and new beginning and forgiveness.
The turn of events were unexpected and in the end, everything just made sense. I love how it wasn’t predictable and that I didn’t expect it to be ‘that’. It was bittersweet but in the end, I love that it was Asher and Alyse.
This was an emotional read, and hot and scorching. I cannot fathom how they were both brave to overcome such hardships, and I love Barb’s advice and of course, Conn. Aside from that, I love Asher’s kink.
I have made my opinions on epilogues, but then this wasn’t all about rainbows and unicorns. It was beautiful how it ended with closure. It was like it didn’t end. It was a beautiful beginning.
I want bone-deep love, a family, happiness, and a man that will worship me.

K.L. Kreig is one of my favorites discoveries of all times.
I met her through some pretty awesome vampires she created not so long ago. Then she switched genres to something more natural (contemporary romance) and I'm loving each word.
Undeniably Asher is book #2 on the Colloway Brothers series. It can be considered as a stand-alone but if you you haven't read Forsaking Grey you might feel like there's a little hole in the plot. Let me correct myself: you won't feel the hole in the plot but some emotional scenes won't make much sense or maybe won't be as emotional as they should because you don't have the emotional background Livia created in book #1.
If you have OCD like me then you can add the fact that book #1 must be read before book #2. Just saying...
Asher and Alyse are no strangers for me. They were introduced in the previous book. They were there but it wasn't their book so there's no much story there. Just enough to connect the two books.
Undeniably Asher is the story of an 8 year no-relationship relationship. The main characters happen to be brother and sister of the main characters of Forsaking Grey. Alyse is Livia's sister and Asher is Gray's brother.
Alyse was jailbait, Asher was like 22 and they felt a huge attraction. One day they almost acted on in. Then there was hell on earth and each one went their way.
Now that Livia's getting married, everyone is getting in touch again. Asher and Alyse realize they've been like in-love with each other this whole time. They have lived but a lot has happened to them. A lot of hearthache, betrayal, hutt, etc. made them built huge and thick walls around their hearts. They try their very best to protect their heart.
Asher is having some troubles at work and needs an auditor which happens to be what Alyse does for a living. He hires her and also tries to sleep with her but he's going to work hard for the latter.
Alyse is a pretty normal girl. She has her own little company and she's nothing like a tyrant boss. She's very down to earth, likeable, determined and strong but hurt (physically and mentally) woman.
Asher is just as hot as his brother Gray, owns Grasco holdings with his siblings, has trust issues thanks to his previous serious girlfriend and has a little thing for exhibitionism.
This is the kind of contemporary romance I love. After a few chapters I felt the heartache Alyse felt. I might, or might not, have cried a few tears. There are some pretty emotional chapters. Like in "why does she have to suffer this much?" emotional chapters. Like in "why do they have to be so emotional unavailable?" emotional chapters. Like in "why do I keep suffering and crying over some fictional characters?" emotional chapters.
It has some twist I wasn't expecting so when they happened they felt like a slap in the face. I had to re read some paragraphs because I couldn't believe what I was reading. I had to re read to make sure I was understanding what was happening.
It's a story with lots of words so it's very well described. All the anticipation, all the suffering, all the emotions are written so so well. I just love how this woman writes and develops the story.
Can't wait for the next brother!!

A new author and a new set of brothers … oh yes please and thank you. I will take that all day long. This is the second book in the Colloway Brothers series but each book can be read as a standalone. Asher’s story was sent to me as an ARC gift and I can promise you although each can be read alone Im heading back to grab up the first book after Im done here. Asher Colloway sees Alyse Kingsley for the first time in years. She was seventeen and he was twenty one the last time Asher had his hands all over her. If his brother Connor wouldn’t have interrupted them maybe things would have turned out differently. This book is filled with so much drama. Holy geez. These beautiful men good lord women what in the world is your issue. I did want to slap Alyse numerous times. I mean numerous …. But the story line remained five star worthy. You all know me when you have a mousey female lead Im over it but Asher and the other storylines entwined into this book keep me frantically turning the pages. The very first page is a doozie to say the least. Right away you know that things are going to be harsh for Alyse.
Betrayal, deceit, anger and lies are all over the place here. When Alyse has no other choice than to accept the job Asher offers her in order to keep her company afloat all hell breaks loose in emotional overload land.
This is a great read friends. K.L. is a genius as she lets you know the back story enough of Gray and Livia in order for you to not be lost but she also leaves you pinging to go back and grab of the first book if you have not had the pleasure of reading it. I do know next up is Luke’s story and lord have mercy I cant wait to find out what is going on there. Livia does let us in on a shocking bit of information after Alyse drops a bomb on her from her past. I don’t know if you know this about Livia in the first book but I plan to find out. Im guessing probably not. SEE … you need them all!

A new author and a new set of brothers … oh yes please and thank you. I will take that all day long. This is the second book in the Colloway Brothers series but each book can be read as a standalone. Asher’s story was sent to me as an ARC gift and I can promise you although each can be read alone Im heading back to grab up the first book after Im done here. Asher and Alsye know each other by way of his older brother and her older sister who were dating and are now engaged to be married. It's been eight years since they have seen each other. Now that they have the spark has been lit and they can't stop thinking about each other.
In those eight years since last seeing each other they have both experienced devastating loss, betrayal and each heart was been broken into a million pieces by others they had loved. They have the scars and trust issues to prove it and secrets hidden from their families.
Alyse is smart, beautiful and driven. She had a less than stellar childhood and still managed to get her masters degree by age 22. Now she has her own company doing forensic accounting and loves catching white collar criminals. It's a tough business and not all potential clients see the brilliant mind she has. This ticks her off and makes her more driven to have her business succeed. Now she needs a big job to keep her company going. Queue Asher.
Asher is GQ model gorgeous, as are his three brothers. Together the own and run three companies they inherited when their father died. Asher has wicked business skills and works hard. He's competitive as well as possessive and has a darker secret side. Now someone has stolen $500K from his company and he wants to find the bastard and have him throw in jail. So he hires Alyse's company to do the job.
The sexual tension between Alyse and Asher is amazing and leaves you begging for more. But as secrets are revealed and the past steps into the present will they be able to weather the storm?!
This is a story about unexpected loss, second chances and forgiveness. It lets you know you don't have to give up, that you can fight threw it and come out the other side. Lean on and talk to your family or friends. We have all felt or will fell the loss of someone we loved, but it doesn't mean we have to stop living. We remember them we go on and we live!
As with KL's previous series you just keep wanting more. I'm really looking forward to reading Luke's story next.

This was one remarkable story. Alyse and Asher have met before when they were both young and their timing was not right to find romance. Alyse has always been attracted to Asher but she has been hurt so much in her past that she is scared to take a chance with her heart. Asher is a shameless ladies man but he has always known that Alyse is the woman for him. After reconnecting again their attraction is still strong but there are obstacles in their path. This was such a great romance that began years earlier and speaks to the heart about second chances. This story wrapped itself around my heart and I could not wait for these two characters to find their happiness.

May 27, 2016WTH...so h/H met 8 yrs ago and H 'always knew h was meant to be his'?!...yeah that explains why H almost proposed to some other woman and is such a manho (with a dominant reputation too!) in bk1...H never even made any effort to find or see if h was dead or still living on the planet and would never have met h again if not for her sis(h of bk1) ...so no way I'm believing H was pining for her all these years...

Undeniably Asher, book two in the Colloway Brothers is a book that delves into the destructive forces of betrayal, lies and the effect they have on a young impressionable woman when she is reconnected with her future. This is Alyse Kingsley and Asher Colloway’s story. It is an unforgettable journey of true love as they search for a way to hold on to each other and overcome the past.
He met her when she was a teenager. They shared an intense attraction, but because of her age were separated. Now years later they are once again thrown together when her sister and his brother reconnect. Asher is determined to keep her regardless of the obstacles placed in his path. She is the one for him, he just needs to prove to her that he will never leave her or betray her. The past rears its ugly head and threatens to destroy the future he has started to build with Alyse. Will she take a chance and open herself up to a life together with him?
Everyone she has ever loved leaves her! Her mother deserted her, her sister disappeared when she needed her the most, her lover killed himself and her father was a liar and an addicted gambler. Alyse does not have a great record keeping those that she loves, so she keeps herself safe and distant from those that would try to breach the walls she has built around her heart. But when Asher Colloway returns and becomes part of her life again, it is a struggle to keep distance between them. When a ghost from her past is exposed, Alyse must make a decision to live again or stay buried and broken.
The characters are so realistic that as you read their story, you feel a kindship with them. Their story grabs and holds your attention as the pages unfold the passion, angst and love created by this talented author. I have read and enjoyed all of Ms. Kreig’s works of fiction and look forward to her next release. This is an excellent addition to my library!

K l kreig has done it again, made me read her book in one sitting, how could I put down Asher and finish it tomorrow, just wasn't happening!
K l writes in depth characthers that are full of surprises, the stories always captivate.
Alyse is drawn into the colloway family through her sister who just happens to be with the very sexy Gray, it's not her first run in with them as you will know if you've read book 1. Alyse has not had an easy upbringing or early adult life, she suffered trauma and still carries invisible wounds with her. Even so she has her own business and is confident and self assured, at least on the outside.
Asher, oh my how to tell you about him, he is sex, maybe that will do it? He really is sexy, his successful too, but he guards his heart due to being hurt before.
When the colloway brothers are together you really feel the family between them, the way they wind each other up and talk, and the fact they're all gorgeous makes you want to be in the middle of them.
When Asher lays eyes on Alyse again, his body knows what it wants, but can his heart follow? It's a bumpy road they go down, in more than one way! They both have to learn trust and to open their hearts.
It's a beautiful story with some heartbreaking moments, it also has some seriously sexy scenes to warm you up now the nights are getting colder.

Book 2 is about Asher Colloway and all I can say about Asher is that he was one hot, kinky, alpha male. Seriously I think I fell in love with him right from the beginning and I could not put my kindle down. These Colloway brothers are probably the sexiest brothers I have ever read about.
Asher and Alyse have reunited after their first kiss 8 years ago and the attraction and chemistry between these two have not faded at all. Both of them have built up walls around them after they each have been in past relationships that have hurt them both. Asher, though, is not willing to let Alyse go again and is determined to make her his. Alyse can't help but fall for Asher even though her head is telling her not to.
I just loved this book. It had me hooked from the very beginning. Asher is probably one of the hottest men I have read about. He is a sexy alpha male who will go to the extreme to protect and love Alyse and has a kinky side to him that makes him even hotter.
