When one of Bethany Anne's loved ones gets caught in the crossfire between her and the Forsaken, she goes rabid in rage. She doesn't believe in seeking peace and harmony, but rather revenge and mayhem.

Continuing the story of Bethany Anne and TQB team, Love Lost picks up after Queen Bitch. She works to complete both her business and military team leads and we meet Stephen's daughter Gabrielle as plans are made to exact revenge South of the Border.

You don't touch one of Bethany Anne's loved ones and get away with it, no matter how far away you live.

**Please note, as mentioned in another review, there is flagrantly foul language in this novel. The main character does not have a problem with cussing, just uninspired cussing.

"...“She didn’t hate cussing, she hated uninspired cussing.”..."

Yes, there is a LOT of cussing!!!

The Queen Bitch aka Bethany Anne, is gathering a fateful and lethal team, this time around recruiting for a small NAVY and consolidating and centralizing her operation and assets. In the previous book she got herself a strike team with a pilot, a Black Hawk helicopter and a small personal plane, for at least 12 passengers in a very comfortable configuration... Yes, she has been spending money as a crazy woman, but apart from that, she has been building a rapport with her teammates and working to make them a true force who will do anything for her and each-other without needing to compel them.

We all know that BA is a vampire right now. This is how this series qualifies the term...

"... “The scientific discussion goes something like this: Communication of living systems is done by molecular recognition. This central principle of the living world is performed at the contact sites of different objects such as single macro-molecules or highly complex supra-molecular assemblies as living cells may be described. Molecular recognition capabilities are evoked by the nanocytes. Every vampire has nanocytes in their bodies coming from the original, Michael. Unfortunately, the nanocytes in Michael’s body had not been adjusted to deal with human DNA correctly so each generation takes the mutations from the previous generation and provides less ideal modifications to the generation they produce.”..."

Yes, but Michael was the first created by the alien entity, to which he took BA in order to create her as well. By this time, the entity had perfected the formula best fitting the human DNA and she is a definite upgrade to the Vamp race. Now Michael is missing and she has taken over his rule, operation and funds. Lots of funds!!!! Now she is working on reestablishing the Vamps place with the US and other world governments, but there is a second group or "family" of vamps, who are rogue and are bent on making all humans their cattle, calling themselves The Forsaken. Her next job is to take them down... This book is mostly a set-up for the battles to follow, although there are some bloody moments as well.

"... “Congress is a wishy-washy, whiny bunch of people who can’t see past the next election.”..."

BA and her gang do get a bit preachy at times, the desire to blow everything up is overwhelming, and the cussing can get to be too much, but it is an entertaining series and I am going to stick with it for now:):):)

Now I wish you All Happy Reading and may you always find what you Need in the pages of a Good Book!!!

Bad A@@!!

OMG now BA has gone and bought a luxurious yacht. She got rid off the slime ball owner first. All those wanting justice for the little guy will be celebrating today.

In this episode we see BA and TQB exact revenge on her old bosses murderers. They take on the leader in South America but BA doesn't go after the children who reach out to her.

TQB bring on more members to man the yacht and it's so called slightly smaller taxi. The business side of her enterprise's are also being handled now by her father. Bethany Anne's main issue is to bring together as many like minded people as possible. Humans, vampires and weres.

Seriously, you can't put the books down. There is so much going on that you feel like your on the longest rollercoaster ride ever. Yep, you do lose your stomach a few times as well.

The stories aren't long, maybe a little longer than novella. But they are jammed packed. The cussing is to die for and very inventive. You will laugh a lot. You will feel part of their losses and their successes. But mostly you'll be cheering them on from the guidelines. Enjoy!

3 1/2 Stars. Another fun, action-packed read. Not quite as great as the first two. There was a lot of introducing of new characters and toys (weapons, boats) for The Queen Bitch (Bethany Anne). So it was sort of like a build-up book of the series. You know there is a ton of action to come soon. This series is still as addicting, and I hope I find the time to keep reading soon.
I still absolutely recommend for paranormal fans.

So, #3 in a series and still quite enjoyable to read. This one had some dullness about buying ships and inculcating more team members I didn't love, but on the whole this is very entertaining (for me).

“Love Lost (Kurtherian Gambit 3)” is another amazing episode in the life of BA and her growing TQB team, with more amazing narration by Emily Beresford. If you don’t recognize the terms BA and TQB; stop reading this now, and pick up the first two books in this amazing series!

In “Love Lost”, a close friend and former mentor of BA’s is killed, and she’s willing to do anything to avenge his death.

The amazing attention to detail for the many different characters is astonishing, and contributes dramatically to the sense of world building.

As with earlier books, this story is about adventure, action and cussing. Just don’t use uninspired cussing around BA! Look elsewhere for romance or erotica, but honestly, there’s so much going on with this book you won’t even notice the lack of sex or romance. Or at least you wouldn’t have if I hadn’t mentioned it. Ooopsie. 5*

Addicting series! Great Narration by Emily Beresford. (audible review)

Wow this is another great addition to this series. It is so addicting. I check everyday for a new release on audible. They are coming out pretty fast but not as fast as I can listen. LOL

I love all the action, butt kicking and boy does Bethany Anne have a way with words. So much fantastic dialogue throughout the entire book. These stories are pure entertainment. I love listening to the narrator's and author's commentary/notes at the end of the story.

I have already listened to the next book and will review that shortly but I think I am going to try and wait a couple months to see how many more are released so I can binge listen!

As for the narration, it is great! Emily Beresford does such a great job narrating. The men sound like men, everyone get's their own distinct voice she reads with emotion and her end comments at the end of the book are very entertaining, She really does like reading this series. Makes it better for the listener to I think.

Gotta give it a chance

This is the third book in this series and I am still loving them. If your looking for a book with awesome characters, interesting problems, adventures then give this series a try. You won't be disappointed, forget about spelling & little type o's or whatever other people have said the story is great . I'd rather spend my hours reading a fantastic adventure with a few errors than a perfectly written one that's boring as mudd. One more time try it you'll like it ALOT!

I tried but after 3 books I can't do it anymore. I don't understand why people love these books. I like the story idea but the writing and everything else I can live without. No more for me.

2.75 Stars, I still liked it and it was better than the first book but falls a little short of the 2nd book. I will continue with the series as it still has potential but I am starting to loose my enjoyment of this series.

update
Okay so now that I found out these books are really a serial and written in less than 30 days I will have to bump them up by one full star, even tho I am not really into serial type books.

Can't say it often enough. Truly addictive series

The care given to development of characters and back story is tremendous. You get sucked into caring about the characters and their motivation. Absolutely addictive. Can't wait for the next installment..

These are very fast reading but also very enjoyable. There’s lots happening but it doesn’t seem crowded or rushed. Again there are some editing errors. I don’t usually notice editing errors but some of these pop up regularly. It doesn’t really distract my reading, I just sometimes finds myself thinking about what should be said. Quite often it’s just a missing letter - for example the instead of they .
But again these are very enjoyable to read

Ok. I'm in.

This is kind of another version of John Conroe's Demon Accords, but with a female MC and some scifi thrown in.

Again, this is Mary Sue goodness.

As could be surmised by the cover of this one, it's not high literature, but it's fun and funny (intentionally and unintentionally).

I loved the first book of this series, so I bought 5 more to keep me busy over vacation. Unfortunately, they all disappointed me. The first book was more character driven, the remaining books relied to heavily on 3rd person summary narration to move the plot line along. Also, as the paramilitary aspect of the series became more prominent, the author leaned heavily on machismo and how legendary tough this group would become. It got repetitive and didn't feel real given the circumstances of the group. I kept reading the same "met Bethany, was inspired to be a military badass" story for each of the characters. So dull. I doubt I'll read more of this series.

There's not a lot of improvement compared to the last installment. I've found issues with the same old pattern of too much summarizing and telling important events instead of showing them in a more dynamic manner.

Humorous and fun read

These books are an easy quick read, but a fun one. The concepts in them are well done. There is quite a bit of attention to detail regarding the military and special ops scenes as well as the woman’s couture and computer concepts.

I have to even admit that a couple scenes got to me. The obvious pain of Bethany Anne to Martin’s death, was incredibly poignant. The other big one was when the TCQ Navy was being formed and such concepts of honour, helping and protecting the innocent and basically just doing what was right, actually brought a few tears to me. It’s nice to know that there are others in our world who know what’s right and see that maybe our own government, the rich, and the general populace may not know that experience for themselves as often as they should. It gives me hope that if in our reality such an example was shown and expected, there would actually be some who could fulfill it.

I liked the addition of Gabrielle to become one of BA’s team. She added a great perspective into the mix. The stories that Stephen shared and pointed out to Ivan were hilarious. With all the various characters, you’d would think it would be difficult to keep all of them clear in your mind, not only for the author, but for the reader too. It isn’t difficult in the least though, as each character has a unique outlook and personality and stands out from each other. It certainly makes for a more interesting read, as you get personally involved with the backstories of each character. This makes it easy to recall each character, such as any member of the QB Guard all the way down to short used (so far) of Killian and Gunny Dukes (I hope she’s used more, her backstory was inspired) or even of Jonathan or Gerry from the American Weres, who don’t get as much prose at this time.

Things do seem to happen a bit too easily for the team. Even their failures tend to help them in the right direction. I do realize planning and determination can get you there often but it doesn’t always work and though I wouldn’t want to see massive failures occur for this unique team often, a few setbacks might help the believability of the story going forward.

I continue to look forward to more of this series, and possibly for this prolific authors other offerings out there to be read as of yet. Seriously, how does he write this much? These have been easy fun reads, but even quick books take time to write and write them well. It amazes me how much I see with his name on it.

Awesome..

The first book was “eh,” the second was better but this was the best out of the three. You really do get hooked on this series. You just gotta love Bethany Anne. She has the funniest ways of swearing, she makes it up as she goes along, sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it doesn’t. She continues to build her army to wipe out the Forsaken, before moving on to bigger and better battles.

These are not cliffhangers but you really do have to read them in order to keep up with all the characters, such as: John, Dan, Bobcat, Pete, Eric, Scott, Darryl, Stephen, Gabrielle, Ivan, Nathan, Ecaterina, Lance (Bethany Anne’s father,) Killian, Frank, Jean, Todd, Rodriquez, Jenkins, and anyone else I might have missed. They’re all great secondary characters, and all of them are in every book so far, and I’m sure they’ll be in the next book, Bite This.

Everyone is totally faithful and very protective of Bethany Anne. They’d kill for her and die for her, too. And then there’s TOM, the alien computer who happened to hitch a ride IN Bethany Anne, and he’s a fun character, too.

In this story a person who was very dear to Bethany Anne is killed by an enemy vampire and Bethany Anne travels to Costa Rica to exact her revenge. Actually, she was traveling all over the world. I especially liked what she did to the Sheik and his men, they were more than deserving of what they got. This is such an exciting series. There are 16 books and it looks like they’re all going to be on Audible. Yay! I think the reading of the books make all the difference in the world.

There’s no sex, no romance of any kind so if that’s what you’re looking for then keep looking. If you’re looking for an addictive series then stop here.

As to the narration: Emily Beresford gets better and better with each book, as does her emotions while reading.

Book 3 and still liking this series. I may take a break though.

The character and world building is slow but precise. Not once do I feel confused at what I'm reading.
I enjoy the book is told from the POV of nearly everyone, even people with two lines. All their inner thoughts and dialogue at the time of the event gives a insight that helps build everything more. Usually I would find it too intense, but not here, here I find it easier for my brain to grab onto the bigger picture and enjoy the jokes.

The FMC, Bethany-Ann, BA, QB, TQB or Queen Bitch 👸 is fierce, bad ass and funny. She understands people on a level most do not try to see, and that makes her more powerful as she's quick to see potential or trouble. Her instincts as a human were good, now as a enhanced by alien tech super vampire, she's great! I love her dynamic with the family she's building, and love her family. Man I'm even jealous of some of them.

No hint of a love interest, she has no time and the plot doesn't need it right now. But there is love interests finding each other around her and that is a clever bit of writing to sooth the romantic bit in readers like me.

This book shows us how powerful she is at her most vulnerable. The pain she goes through is so well written I felt like falling on my knees and hug crying her. Even better the support her vulnerability inspires is powerful. A vampire who will show her broken bits but slap your head off if you pitch her butt because you think she's weak! Is a vampire I would want to be 😏

3.5 You See That Big Oak Tree Over There? Stars

Love Lost is the third book in The Kurtherian Gambit series by Michael Anderle.

I think all of the military jargon, explanations into bodily functions when introduced to Kurtherian technology, and weapons systems descriptions boggled my mind. Which in turn made this less enjoyable than the previous work. Probably also the fault of the lessened amount of battles and various types of fights or skirmishes. They were all solved too quickly, or succinctly to be fully enjoyable.

Bethany Anne’s conscripted members into the fight against Earth’s enemies, including the Forsaken, has definitely grown. It’s been relieving to see at least some of her plans start to take shape. With varying surprises into their growing stockpile of toys.

It was upsetting that Bethany Anne (and therefore Anderle) couldn’t sacrifice a little revenge to bring Clarita over to their side. I think she would have made a great addition to the team. Which makes me all the more interested to see how children interact with the current members of TQB.

I most enjoyed meeting Gabrielle, and her father joining her endeavors after retiring. It saddens me that Martin’s death was the catalyst that brought so many of these changes and advances in their path towards space and Earth’s protection and defense.

Again, another home run!

It must be difficult for an author to constantly provide entertainment while balancing character arcs, believable tech, suspension of disbelief, humor and action.
It doesn't feel like Mr Anderle has much difficulty, however.
Usually, when an author is constantly introducing new characters and advancing plot, it is difficult to keep everything straight. However, in this series, you develop a closeness with the characters with minimal rereading.
This, thankfully, is not a series that throws cliffhangers and monkey wrenches into the story in order to keep you reading. The story, the characters are compelling enough as they are. Enough so that I've read these first three books within a period of 72 hours.
There were still several editing errors that caused me to go back and reread a passage because something was off. They were minor inconveniences and therefore required no reduction of my rating, but I would strongly suggest to Mr Anderle that he rely more on the fresh eyes of a hired editor than on either a program or his own editing as the fact is, an author knows what he's tying to convey and has a tendency to read things as he wants them to read instead of how they are, actually, written.

This story certainly brings all of the team that Bethany Anne needs, to start her war against the Forsaken, and when one of them arranges the death of someone she holds very dear, the gloves are off, and she is ready to go kick some butt!

I really loved reading the way in which she drew together the team that she needed, and how ethics, and honour, were a strong part of the choices she makes.

Seeing how things are slowly turning towards the bigger goals that Bethany Anne has, not only for the United States, but for the entire world, is a wonderful testament to both the author who brought her to life, but also to those men and women who choose to serve their countries with honour, even when their country might be becoming a little lax themselves.

Reading this series, is like having a glimpse into the things that have kept so many of us obliviously safe, while others stand between us, and harm, and it's a lesson we should all learn, in order to be like our guardians, and not turn a deaf ear, or a blind eye, to evil, wherever it might be found.

These books are awesome, and I'm already so hooked on both characters, and plotlines, that I think it will be years before I might reach the end of them - and what a fun journey that will be!

I Can’t Put These Books Down!

I read the first book and have now finished the third in 3days! This series is addictive. I love the whole personality of Bethany Anne and her cohorts are right up there with her. Honor is central as well as justice for those who cannot get it for themselves.

There is a loss close to BA in the beginning of this book and it had me feeling every ounce of her anguish. I wanted her revenge as much as she did. In the end, of course, the guilty will meet her justice but there is also compassion.

Her teams are growing. She builds a small navy in this one to accompany her air and land capabilities. Meanwhile she is learning more about her own physical abilities and about the Unknown World itself, which Michael failed to teach her enough before disappearing.

Do yourself a favor and start with book one and keep reading right straight through which is what I’m doing. It’s available on Kindle Unlimited and well worth trying if you like military suspense and paranormal stories.
