Uncovering You 1 - The Contract

When I wake up in a dark, unfamiliar room, I have no idea what's waiting for me in the shadows. My imagination conjures up demons of the worst kind.

Reality is much worse:

A collar with no leash. A prison with no walls. And a life stripped of meaning.

I am presented with a vile contract and asked to sign. It outlines the terms of my servitude. The only information I have about my captor are the two small letters inked at the bottom:

J.S.

Armed with only my memories, I must do everything I can to avoid becoming ensnared in his twisted mind games. But in the end, it all comes down to one choice:

Resist and die.

Or submit, and sign my life away.

---

Uncovering You 2 - Submission

I have survived the worst. I have come out of the darkness with my sanity intact.

Now, I get to meet the monster holding me here. For the first time since my captivity began, I get to meet Stonehart.

Whatever he wants, I'll be ready. The collar may be tight around my neck, but I will not be a prisoner.

A prisoner has no choice. A prisoner has no purpose.

But a concubine, on the other hand? She always has a choice.

And today, I choose to fight.

---

Uncovering You 3 - Resistance

Jeremy Stonehart is a cruel, vindictive man. He wants me to submit. He wants me to give in.

I will never give in. I will never yield. No matter what he subjects me to, I will always fight.

I will not forget my resolve.

Let Stonehart think me broken. I am not so easily deterred as that. No matter what he puts me through, I will always remember my own strength. I will always remember that in the end, I have control of the one thing he really wants:

My mind.

I will never give him that.

I will resist.

---

These books contain scenes of intense emotional and physical cruelty. Readers with sensitivity to such subjects are advised to proceed with caution.

Not a feel good series!

When I read a book there are certain thing's that I except to get from it and one of those things is a happy ending. I read to escape into another world where I am entertained and feel some measure of joy by the end of the book. Unfortunately for me after reading these stories, all I felt was sadness and disappointment. The author does warn about the graphic nature of the rape, torture and abuse in the first story so take heed because what the heroin goes through is horrific and serves no real purpose. Lilly, the innocent young heroin, is kidnapped, rapped and tortured and in the end is the only one who pays the price. Stay away from these stories if you want some amount of happiness at their conclusion because you won't get it here.

Definitely not for everyone. I LOVED it, but the content is very dark and psychological. I didn't have high hopes at first (judged a book by its cover), but the author absolutely drew me in with an excellent writing style. I've experienced domestic violence first hand, so some of the scenes were tough to read and I did cry over some of the content. Its was mostly the psychological aspect that speared me than the physical violence (although, that was though to swallow). Psychologically, the writing mimicked a lot of the ways that my brain cycled through during my three years of living with DV. Some folks seem to think the collection is drawn out and too long (and it is quite a long read), but I thought it was perfect because it showed the cycles of abuse while the characters tried too grow and change. The series does get extremely dark at the end with things taking place that broke my heart...I never thought I'd root for the bad guy, but it happened because people aren't always who they seem (keep an open mind on this one, it was rough for me to root for a rapist/torturer at first, but once certain angles are revealed, well hopefully you'll read and experience that dichotomy and dissonance yourself...). There is an author's ending (which ends at the completion of series 10), but she also wrote an 11th series for folks who were not happy with the ending. I was very happy with both endings. The author ending is artistic and open ended, so your mind reels with what could happen...its a testament to the fact that lilly and Jeremy will always have to be moving and trying to make positive progress... That seems to be the theme of the whole collection, in my opinion. They're stepping forward while getting pushed back, and the author ending shows that life doesn't always end with a neatly wrapped bow and that unknown struggles lay ahead for these characters, just like with everything they've previously experienced. The readers HEA request ending is also very satisfying...its the wrapped in a bow ending but still mixed with the unknown struggles ending and some character reflections. I am curious about Robin's involvement with "the resurrection" plot. My mind is curious as to how that would work out. He was !y favorite character, despite barely being involved in the book. He was steadfast in his beliefs to always be there for a friend, despite being shoved away for his and his fiancés safety. I liked that. I liked the whole thing. If you feel like giving up, don't...keep reading. Once you see the whole picture and all of the twists, it is beyond worth it.

This was one hell of a mind f*ck! I couldn't stop reading this . It did take a few days as the set has 11 books in it. The first few are shorter but the last ones are about 200 pages each. I won't say much as you need to read this as there are a lot of twists and turns and though some things I was able to figure out most will just blow your mind. There is abuse in this book so if that is a trigger for you don't read it. But if you can deal with it you will be in for a hell of a ride.

But the boxed set

Hate that the author pieces it out in a bunch of little books but it was still a good book and worth the read. It’s dark, the H is not even a anti-hero he’s just a straight d*ck but you can’t stop reading. If you can’t do brutal don’t read this. It is not your typical billionaire bdsm. It’s beyond that.

I obsessively read these books -could not put down- but I just never felt like MMC actually loved (or even liked?) FMC. Or maybe just that he never paid his dues. I like dark romance but I do apparently need at least a bit more remorse/grovel. And the last book was a disaster that took this from 4 to 2 stars

Wow, just wow. I'm not sure where to begin. All I know is that now that I'm done this series, I feel so...empty. What now!? I wish there were more! I'm going to miss reading about Lilly and Jeremy. This has been a very thrilling read. I loved it. It's got all the elements I love in a novel and it totally, undoubtedly, held my interest despite the length. Granted, it's not for everyone - it's definitely a dark read, psychological and borderline horror, don't forget the very physical and emotional abuse... but I couldn't turn away and it was hard to put down as I wanted to know more. I just kept wanting to read more and I was rewarded haha. The beginning definitely was harder to stomach but somewhere in the middle, it became more of a psychological read than a physical one...if that made sense. Anyway, I would totally recommend this to others who are looking for a dark, psychological read.

Lilly was likeable and although I did not enjoy the character of Jeremy at first, he did grow on me - I found myself intrigued by his story and his character. As for the all the mind games and twists, it really made it an exciting, satisfying read. Scarlett Edwards did an amazing job with these characters and really, creative, and beautiful storyline. I appreciated how she allowed us to understand and see Lilly's thought process and reasons as to why she she says and does what she did. She is a very strong character and because we were allowed to see her thought process throughout this whole series, it made everything she says/does that much more believable and reasonable.

Man, I am going to miss this series!! Well done Ms. Scarlett Edwards! I will totally be checking out her other books :)

Wow!! Crazy! Emotional! Just... Wow!

Please be completely mindful of the warnings that the author gives throughout!! This is an extremely psychological work of art that even got to me a little! But I just couldn't pull myself away from it!

I am in absolute awe of this author!! The way she pulls you in and describes every single emotion, every single thought, the physical and emotional pain...everything...What a total and absolute mind fuck!!!

Some reviews I've read speak of the story being too repetitive and claim the author has some deap seated issues but I completely disagree!! Yes, I can see where some may think that but as you continue reading, you can both see and feel as time goes by the constant internal struggle and the strength Lilly has inside her. With that, one would have a constant and repetitive internal debate with oneself.

Also, anyone who can create a story like this, to me, appears to have some kind of background in Psychology.

If you are looking for something that will grab ahold of you and pull you down into the darkness...If you are looking for something that will take you on an extreme ride through the highs and lows of the human psyche...Then you have found what you are looking for!

I have to applaud Scarlett Edwards!

What a roller coaster of a read. I thoroughly enjoined Uncovering You not because I delight in the suffering of others because I enjoy seeing them persevere.

The characters are fully developed and very complex. The writer allows her readers to witness the discoveries along with Lilly as she learns that not everything she remembers about her past is correct. We are surprised along with her as many horrific events take place and how she emotionally struggles for her sanity.

Both characters have a lot to learn about themselves and as their lives intertwine we see the difficulties people face while being involved with someone so damaged.

Perhaps I'm reading too much into this, but internal struggles fascinate me. Our pasts lead us to become who we are, and if that past is based on a lie it is the fortunate that get an opportunity to begin again. I have always been a believer in the people you encounter along your journey are there for a reason, good or bad.

Again, this book is not for the faint of heart, but if you're fascinated by human nature you will not be disappointed.

This was so much more than I expected. This story, 11 books long, was a brutal book. Lilly was kidnapped by JS, and the things she has to endure, it's not what I have normally read, the life she either has to live or don't, it's all up to her.
I loved that there were a story to it, there was mystery and several times I tried to guess who the people were to JS, and who JS were and why he had kidnapped Lilly, but more than once, I guessed wrong. I couldn't predict what would happen or how Js or any other would react.
In this book you will be repelled, disgusted, you will cry, you will feel love and an unexplained connection between Lilly and her captor. I don't think I have met a more cold, sadistic, brutal, two-personalities in one person in any other book - he is a monster.
This is most definitely a dark book. It's disturbing, there is violence, rape, psychical abuse and so much more.

I Challenge scarlet to read this from start to finish!

I would love to know what this author would say about her own book!
I would love to know if she can even read the whole thing without skipping pages! Because I couldn't!
I'll tell you something you will have whiplash!!!

I will say I'm so glad I stopped reading it when I did!! The first few were good, really good! I only stopped reading them when I did the math and figured out the cost this unknown, unpublished author's books were going to cost me! That and I was really starting to question Scarlett's integrity!!!

I think it all went awry when she tried to take a 4 book series and turn it into 10/11 books, just to milk the gravy train!!! This thing is all over the place! Maybe it's not as noticeable as a series but all together it's too much & it's so boring!!!

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Jeremy..sick twisted sadistic guy..

This book has twists and turns.. But Lily is taken by Jeremy who is sadistic, nuts , abusive, controlling and let's not forget the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde disorder..He beats her, rapes her and Lily makes excuses for him..I'm on book 9 and hopefully by the end of series Lily regains some common sense...get away from Jeremy before he kills her..But I hope someone collars Jeremy and gives him a shock..Part of me think his twin is in on it with him..This book has you even thinking Lily is delusional and maybe she is..Highly recommend but be forewarned it touches on sensitive and depressing issues..I enjoy it because it keeps me guessing but I am not a Jeremy fan..Don't know why Lily didn't shoot him after everything he has done to her and her family.. Writer did great job!

Absolutely love!!!

The complete series was one that kept you always guessing. It was never predictable. Soo worth the money!! This made me a fan of dark romance. And then has the authors bonus work?!?! My goodness!! Made an absolute fan out of me!! Now, there were areas that actually made me tear up and I have to give the author credit!! I have NEVER EVER had that happen!!! Kudos!!

I would recommend this book series to anyone who is looking for dark romance!! And it is very dark. So if you are looking for sweet and happy, heed warning. You won't get that here!! Not saying they don't have HEA's. These stories make your soul speak!!

A big thanks to the author for the amazing journey through your imagination!!!

Glad to have uncovered this series...

This review is for the entire Uncovering You series.

The darkness in this book was well written. The author didn't hold back in the intensity. Usually, authors will write the lead male/Jeremy Stonehart with too much sensitivity early on in the book, which is less captivating because it leaves less room for the villain to turn hero. In this book, Jeremy was vile and brutal and sadistic, and could only go up from there. The book was very descriptive and included a lot of effects of realism. I was enthralled. 2/3rds of the way through felt like a good place for the story to end but the writer kept going. There was so much detail in this story that I think this can easily be turned into a mini-series for cable.

I don't typically write reviews as I find most books enjoyable. I found this series intriguing at 1st but as time goes on ... So does the story on, on & on..... I had to keep putting it down as it was so frustrating that scenes never end.. Descriptions of scenes go on & on .. So many useless details that are repeated over & over! This series has such great potential as a satisfying story of forgiveness, love conquered all, etc... But you can barely make it til the end! I have never not finished a series ... I am in book 10 & am at the verge of laying it down for good! This series the longer it goes the bigger disappointment it is!

Brilliant

Wow, this really is a mega box set thank you Scarlett for being so generous. Uncovering you this is a very dark and powerful series and is certainly not for the faint hearted you do have to wonder if a human could possibly go through all the things that Lilly did and come through remotely sane. The rest of the books are all excellent pieces of work I thoroughly enjoyed them all. I applaud the authors bravery on the subject matter in the uncovering you series but some would find the abuse etc very disturbing. I had not read much of Scarlett's work before but I have now become a fan.

I am SO glad included the Lost Chapter.. I would have been a nasty mess not knowing how story ended.
This was a first book I could only read in small amounts... the Stoneheart and Jermey was awesome personality dissociate.. all the twists and turns and guessing what MIGHT happen was so awesome.
I really liked this book.. I did have issue with having to put down once in awhile because of ... well the way Lilly was being "cared" for..
Once again a series that the Phoenix is present in very turn brought into the story.....
is a good read yet if have some self trauma take in small chunks.. is worth the read to bring out self strength and courage

It was going good till fifth series but then there was sudden change in the character of Jeremy as he started falling in love with the women Lilly he abducted, forced her to surrender and tortured her. Even the suspense was wearing me maybe because I dont read such lengthy series but then I managed somehow to read till end. Tenth part of the series was very sensitive for me because Lilly as a strong character of the story was abused too much that she became insane and major tranformation in Jeremy who didn't gave up hope till end. I appreciate that author provided a better ending in series eleventh because somewhere I was not happy with the ending of series tenth of this story.

One word: Phenomenal.

Okay, so this series is definitely NOT for everyone.

But for those who like an extra lengthy series with a tear-jerking pain-train, yep, this one's for you.

Depending on your level-cap, this might either be too much for you, or just right. Those who mark this book low, doesn't necessarily mean that the story itself is badly written or the like. It takes a certain haze of flow to follow the storyline. Might be a bit too much for those with low-tolerant to binge all in one go, but this story gave such a compelling mystery for me to follow through in one go (finished overnight/in 2 days without sleeping ಠ_ಠ).

Holy dodo.

I found this series very disturbing. I normally read a book all of the way through. I couldn't with this one. A psychological thriller....Scarlett Edwards is in the same league as Stephen King in the aspect of taking your mind and scaring the dodo out of you.

Do I recommend this book? Good question. It has been a long time since a book affected me. I believe Scarlett Edwards has my mind.

This is some sick craziness?!

This book is sick man I thought I was getting a romance novel..maybe a 50 shades a grey type novel! But this here...man I was sick reading it..and it just kept going..I gave up after a few chapters and skipped to the end to find it was even sicker rape, molestation torture! If you can sit through this book without being completely disturbed you aren't right

this is a very intense box set but it will keep you on the edge of your seat. you can't help but root for Lilly and pray she can make it with out losing herself and hating Jeremy but at the same time start to fall for him to. Yes it is full of violence against Lilly and it is hard to see anyone go thru it but you will love her all the more. You need to read it till the end and then read Chapter 11 the Lost Chapter to see it all. Warning you will need Kleenex for it.

Wow! Enjoy the Uncovering You series and a lot more.

I loved this series when it originally came out and now I have it all together in one set. The best thing about this set is that it comes with the authors entire back catalogue of books including her most recently released ones.

Heartbreaking

I read the first 3 books of this series a while ago. I was excited to read the rest. Honestly, they weren't my cup of tea. You get what you expect.
My heart was broken by the bonus book, Landon. OMG I cried at the end!!! If nothing else, read for that book but get a WHOLE box of tissues nearby. I'm still not recovered...so powerful!

This entire story enraptured me through its entirety. I am so pleased this series came in a box set. Each book took you step by step through the struggles, adventures and trials of Jeremy and Lilly. I have never read a book quite like this one. It had adventure, drama, romance. If I calculated correctly, this series has 2239 book pages. In my opinion, it was well worth the read.

Really liked this book, would give it 4.5 stars if possible. But if you are at all the type of person who can't handle any kind of, how do I say it without being blunt, don't think I can...abuse, both physical and mental...a lot if abuse.. Getting that out of the way, if you can get past that and enjoy the journey that is this book you will love it, as I did.

Excellent

I was quite impressed with this box set. Really got into the characters and I also like the fact that it's a mystery. Just when I think that i'm getting to answer what's going on, that's well when that changes. Would definitely recommend you read this set and can't wait to read part two of the box set. I give credit to the writer. You've got quality. X

WTF. Dark? Creepy? Yes and Yes! There were wtf moments, sososoSOOOOOO many. I think that however this was less of a romance for me, and just a story. Even though by the end it was a really touching romance, there were atrocities that happened to both the H and h, but jeeeeeez. Some seriously heavy stuff. I had to take breaks between some chapters they were so intense.

Hmm...

Read the whole thing. Writer did a nice job as far as grammar etc. Kind of a drawn out, mixed up drama- not impressed. Guess it's not my genre, but I gave it a try. If you like this kind of extremely sad story, enjoy it.
