Is there anything sexier than a dangerous man with a cigar in his hand?

It elated Amber to leave California and start her new life in Brooklyn, New York. But as she settled in, she realized she made a naïve mistake and rented an apartment in a dangerous neighborhood. Not only that, but the residents in her building were drug addicts and prostitutes.

Fighting the urge to run back West, she decided to stick around and make the best of it. She got a job at a nearby restaurant and even convinced her boss to give her the day shifts so she wouldn’t have to walk home after dark. Everything was falling into place.

And then she met him.

Brooklyn feared Trent Falco. As the present acting head of the Falco family, he was notorious for pushing cocaine and dabbling in illegal gambling. Amber knew she should stay away from him, but his good looks and charm captivated her in an instant. Trent became her drug. She was hooked.

Will Amber give in and date the sexy mob boss?

I love writing romance novels! There's nothing better than delving into the depths of my imagination and pulling out a story people enjoy. I've always been a daydreamer, which helps to get my creative juices flowing!

I also enjoy it when my readers let me know the different types of men they would like to read about being dated in The Dating Series. If you have any suggestions, please drop me a line!

The premise was great. Amber moves to New York. Not knowing anything or anyone from New York, she moves into a bad part of town. She quickly finds a job as a waitress. One night, she ends up serving a mob boss and his men. Trent takes an interest in Amber and from there the story begins. I liked how Amber never wanted anything from Trent and made the best out of what she had. Also, I liked the friendship she developed with those in her building. The secondary characters did not annoy me.

This was not a bad story, but I had just some issues that did not make it an epic read for me.
First, I thought for a mob boss, Trent came off a bit weak.
Trent told Amber everything about his mob dealings. I don't think a true mob boss would be so forthcoming with a woman he just met about his mob "business". He told her he killed people, that he dealt with cocaine. He told her just about everything!! Trent kept telling Amber that he was at the top of the chain and her had other people who would take the fall for him. I am not sure a true mob boss would talk like that, but really what do I know except from reading other mob stories and Sopranos. LOL.

Trent was a nice guy, but I think he was too nice to be the mob boss. I am not saying I wanted him to be a jerk, but there is an impression he always gave whenever he would talk to his men and Amber. I don't know the correct adjective to describe Trent and I do not want to call him weak, but it as if he was too nice. Too open with Amber and her incessive 'whining' about him being open grated on my nerves.

I am not sure why it was mentioned that Trent's wife left him. I guess it was to show that his wife could not handle him and his "business". That bothered me a little.

At times, Amber for being a 32 year old women acted a bit immature.

The last few chapters were in Trent's POV of the first part of the book. I think it could have been left out. It was obvious how Trent felt from the beginning. I ending up skimming these last few chapters.

After leaving California and trekking to Brooklyn, New York Amber is ready to find a new life for herself. Her adventure starts with finding out the "cute" apartment she rented is really a barely standing apartment unit, and her neighbors are a drug addict and prostitute. Amber takes the challenge though finds a job and tackles her apartment with refreshed ideas.

When she ends up serving Trent Falco at the restaurant she is working at, she is attracted to the man but his cockiness quickly throws her off. Trent wants Amber, he knows she is different, she surprises him at every turn. However, Amber is reluctant to get involved with a Mob Boss and certainly has no plans to get involved with someone who is not completely honest with her. Trent will have to decide if Amber is worth the trust he would need to share his life with.

Although there were times where I thought really? this was a fun book. I liked Amber, she doesn't have a filter. Trent was a fantastic hero, I liked that he was quite charming and vulnerable where Amber was concerned. Entertaining, I will be checking out more from this author.

This was a really good read. This was book 2 in the "The Dating Series" . This was a different type of mafia read for me this book wasn't dark like the others one's that I read, but this book hooked me right from the first page and stayed up all night reading it. Amber Johnsom moved from California to Brooklyn, NY for a fresh start after breaking up with her longtime boyfriend another thing that I liked about this book was that both MC's were over 30. Amber gets a shock when she finds out that the apartment she rented is in the bad part of town her neighbor is a hooker and a crack head becomes her friend. When she gets a job waiting tables she meets a hot sexy mob boss. Trent Falco was a feared man in Brooklyn. As the current acting head of the Falco family, he was known for pushing cocaine as well as dabbling in illegal gambling. What I liked about Amber was at first she didn't believe that the mob was real and even when she found out she said what she wanted to she stood up to Trent and she didn't make it easy for him and she wasn't after his money also these two didn't fall into bed right away Trent also liked that about her and he was in love with her before that had sex. This book only had one fight scene in it and it happened in a boxing ring and the guy deserved it and more to me. I really wanted more of this book. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I have read this author before I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

I loved Trent and even though Amber annoyed me sometimes I enjoyed their story. I especially liked at the end getting a little bit of the story through Trent's POV. I'll definitely be looking for more from B.T. Love.

Cute story....completely unrealistic, but enjoyable nevertheless. Very mafia-lite. Little to no sex scenes, which were fade to black anyway.

No so Mob Boss

Not a bad story line.I just don't feel it was executed so great. The main characters seemed a little less mature than their years. A little naive too.

A cute story, a very naive 31 year old girl finally cuts the cord with mommy dearest and moves from Cali to NY.
The taxi driver drops her off in the worst type of neighbor hood, where a guy is smoking crack on the doorsteps in broad daylight.. the girl, or should we say woman did find the listing online..
She finds a job as a waitress at a italian restaurant where she makes a fool of herself in the front of the mob..
I have read a lot of mafia books, and this one was the tamest since it didn't really mention alot of the dealings.. and then she was so dang on nosy that he practically shared all his secrets with her.. and then he just quit the mob... like hey i'm retiring.. here is my notice. Where in the mob world does that happen? Besides that point it was a quick and enjoyable read.. I am now reading another book by the author.

NO, NO, NOPE AND DEFINITELY NOT

Sorry this was soon VERY promising and then just nope! Seriously?!?! What 32 yr old grown @$$ woman is this naive? I have met some really stupid people in my life and you know what I think about those people "I wonder how they get out of bed every morning" because they are too stupid to do that!

But I mean she is soooo unbelievable and unrelatable the Dialogue between Amber and Trent is neither interesting or clever. It's reminiscent of two 20 year olds instead of a grown man of 38 and a woman of 32. Amber's character shows no signs of a mature woman but that of a 23 yr old girl. I'm sorry but if you write a story about ADULT characters then I expect them to act accordingly! Sorry this absolutely pissed me off!!

A cute read, I liked the banter between Amber and Trent. Trent is a mob boss who falls for a sweet waitress Amber who just recently moved to New York from Calfornia, and Amber is defintely someone I can relate too especially her live od flipping furniture. They begin to spend time together and while Trent doesn't want to tell Amber about his business he knows that if he doesn't then he will never have a relationship with her. It was unique that ths author actually had the main character get caught and serve time, usually we see that these guys get out of the trouble so that was refreshing.

This is the second book in the Dating series. Amber is 30 years old, she just moved from California to New York City. She is renting an apartment in a terrible part of Brooklyn and her only friend is a crack head named Clyde. She gets a job as a waitress in an Italian restaurant where she meets Trent Falco, head of the local mob. She's not afraid of him and says what's on her mind this makes him like her even more. Trent is used to people kissing his ass and women falling at his feet. He finds Amber refreshing and decides to pursue her.

I love my Mafia romance

Amber moved to New York to start a new life and from the first day it was culture shock. California is nothing like New York. She gets a job and then her life really changes. She meets Trent Falco. He is a "modern day mob boss." Her heart will never be the same. Trent just wants to settle down with a respectable woman. Amber is everything he always wanted and he can't live without her. I'm so glad this has a HEA! Great book.

Not a true mob lifestyle book at all. The main male character Trent seems like a wannabe. And Amber the leading lady character needs to learn to shut her mouth. She became annoying with wanting to know business which she should've never asked in the first place. The author it seems doesn't know the mafia lifestyle and doesn't know how the women act and are to be. Amber annoyed me to no end asking to many questions and not shutting up. She was very immature.

Great read

This love story was really sweet . I like how it portrayed Trent as something more than a dangerous mob boss. Even though I really do like the bad ass boss in other mob stories as well. I think a alpha billionaire boss dating a mostly overlooked she woman would be a great addition to the dating series.

Given he is a mobster you probably shouldn't hope they get a happy ending!

That being said I found this more enjoyable than the previous book in the collection.
