World, meet Minerva Coolidge, New York fashion model and disaster-magnet. Now meet Big Mike, her tough, tattooed, taciturn, somewhat reluctant bodyguard.
Can true love conquer all? Maybe. But first, Minnie and Big Mike have to survive an attempted kidnapping, stash a corpse, rescue her bad-tempered cat, handle her vapid pop star admirer, avoid her geriatric sex-therapist neighbor, outwit the paparazzi and manage her crazily over-protective brother.

Minnie is only one runway show away from being a supermodel. She gave up bacon for that show so heaven help anyone who gets in her way. But Minnie has been ordered home to the west coast by her over-protective, criminal family. Trouble has followed her to the east coast. Minnie refuses to give up her hard-won freedom. So her family foists a bodyguard on her until they can fetch her home. Big Mike is exactly the kind of alpha tough guy she left home to escape. Overbearing. Distractingly yummy. And just like the men she grew up with, he totally underestimates her...

Big Mike takes one look at Minnie Coolidge and recognizes her as Trouble-With-A-Capital-T. Killer face, killer body, killer family and the survival instincts of a hen. He begrudgingly agrees to babysit her as a favor to her brother, an old army buddy. How hard can it be for an ex-biker, ex-Special Forces, international security specialist to keep one pretty nitwit safe for one day? And then she runs rings around him. Turns out Minnie's smart, mouthy and tough. Everything he likes. Loves. But he's only passing through. He can't wait to hand the hot disaster-magnet over to her brother, or can he?

***ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange of a honest review***

When I requested this book from NetGalley, I wasn't so sure. From it, I though Minerva (or Minnie) would be one more stupid model in book, and Mike a guy without brain.

So why did I request it? Honestly, I'm not completely sure. It was like my hands did they own thinking and decided to do that. So, I need to say - My hands, thank you very much. You are the best.

Before I start with describing book I need you to do one thing. Go and add this book on your to-read list. Go.Now! You didn't??! What are you waiting for. Just, DO it!!

Minerva Coolidge aka Minnie was so funny character. She was tall, blonde famous model. But, I can't forget, also really smart. She know how she can accomplish something that she wants and she is not scared to do that. Okay, maybe just a little scared, but lets that be between us.

Big Mick is hot ex-Special Forces commander. He is tall, muscled and tattooed. And you know what?? I'm in love. I fall for him like

These too interesting characters met on NY airport where Minnie was almost abducted. Don't worry- she is okay. With war going between her family and other MC, and Minnie in city where she shouldn't be, it is not strange that her family thinks that she is in security problems. So her brother ask Big Mick to watch out for her ( like a bodyguard), until he comes to city.

This one was easy and funny read and I'm definitely going to do re-read. This is one of that books that have charms where you become happy. I finished with reading this one few hours ago and I'm still smiling.

I saw that there is 1.5 part coming (soon I hope) and I must say that I like cover and description very much. I just hope that I will get it ASAP, because I need it. Need!!!

On the Run is the first in a series about Big Mike an ex-biker, ex-special forces, security specialist and Minnie a ditzy New York fashion model who has been over protected by her criminal biker family.

Minnie may be beautiful but she proves she can look after herself. She’s not just a pretty face she is smart and feisty. Big Mike is big and scary but he has a heart of gold.

I love Big Mike and I love Minnie. On the Run was a great read. Fast paced, funny, sexy, suspenseful and romantic all wrapped together in one enjoyable read.

Recommended to anyone who enjoys cosy crime.

*Snort*Who knew kidnapping and criminal biker gang turf wars between dangerous adversaries could be so funny? Settle back and get ready to laugh out loud at the antics that happen in Susan Amanda Kelly’s On the Run. Yeah, yeah, kidnapping is not funny, but attempted kidnapping is when the beautiful daughter of a high profile gang kingpin puts her stilettos down refusing to leave New York for the safety of the West Coast and family protection.

Minerva Coolidge is an up and coming model on the cusp of super-model greatness, she has it all, looks, style and animal magnetism, just ask her, she’ll be the first to tell you! It doesn’t matter if her life is in danger, she can handle it, so when Big Mike enters her life as a family commissioned body guard, she is not about to make things easy on this hulking hunk of manly muscle.

Poor Big Mike, the ex-Special Forces soldier thought this would be a cake assignment, after all, she doesn’t weigh more than a minute and he expected her to cower at his sense of control. Not happening, every time he thinks things are going well, she up and vanishes on him. Minnie is feisty, daring and adorably self-involved, but just like Beauty and the Beast with thugs on their tails, there is something brewing between these two. Who knows what it may become, if they survive, that is…

Fun, fun fun! Susan Amanda Kelly has a hit! Light-hearted, quirky and fun, this is a tale that will brighten any day with clever dialogue, unique characters and over-the-top scenes.

I just loved Big Mike and Minnie. Minerva was raised by a family that headed a biker gang in California. Minnie lived in New York. She was in her way to being a super model. Her family wanted her back in Cali and were not taking no for answer. So what does a promising super model do? She runs for NYC any way she can.

Trouble soon catches up to her and she also meets Big Mike. Trouble follows her so she and Michael have some crazy tricky maneuvers to escape them. It is funny exciting and as sexy as all get out.

Minnie does not want to be bossed around. How can Mike get her to do what is best for her? It is a balancing act that becomes even more difficult when rival gangs get in an uproar.

This is worth picking up and reading. Now I want the second book. There are no cliff hangers but I did not want the story to end.

This one was fun.
I wasn’t sure at first if Minnie’s kind of crazy would be too much. I struggled at first between stupid or just wacky. I settled on wacky. And it turned out to be a cute and funny read. And Big Mike, what can I say except he’s fabulous.

Cooked Goose - the Christmas short was included at the end of this book. Again this is a wacky and slightly crazy read. I enjoyed this and now I can’t wait to read Crash’s book

Fast Kindle freebie. Fun enough to keep me invested but downright baffling when it comes to development. Are motorcycle gangs just a romance genre trope that I was supposed to know about...?

2 stars. Action packed freebie novella. Both main characters are extremely 2-dimensional. FMC’s personality is best described by the fact that she rates everyone on a “hotness” scale from 1-10 like a high school mean girl (she considers herself a 12 and the MMC a 4). MMC doesn’t have a personality outside of being ex special forces/ex motorcycle club member.

The characters don’t even say “I love you” at the end, or have any meaningful discussion about their relationship so I’m not sure if it even counts as a happy-for-now ending. To be fair, an “I love you” would’ve been incredibly unbelievable considering they’ve known each other for approx five minutes.

Superb. Strong plot-line, tight prose, snappy dialogue, good characterisation and clever humour. A test to the quality of a novel is if the reader "cares" for the protagonists. I cared.

No cookie cutter characters here. In a slightly wacky version of Beauty and the Beast, we have Minnie, an underwear model so close to her big break she can taste it - literally - since she has been ingesting kale smoothies forever. She is a motorcycle club princess, who has ignored Daddy's warning to lay low while a turf war takes place. Her equally scary brother sends his buddy Big Mike to be a temporary body guard. The assignment that was supposed to last the length of a trip through the JFK Airport has suddenly become a full time job, and Minnie proves she is savvy and smart and completely capable of escaping the security expert.

Stolid Michael is only a "4" on Minnie's Beautiful People Ratings System and starts out as grumpy as the proverbial Beast, but he has some other things going for him, like big biceps, yummy tattoos, and height that can even make a supermodel in heels feel dainty. His fun sense of humor and laid back indulgence took me by surprise. While he sees Minnie's very beautiful face, he sees a lot more besides.

This book was really fun, never took itself seriously at all, and had me smiling most of the time I had my Kindle powered up.

I somehow got this for free to my Kindle, and I read it on a whim to kill some time. I was surprised to enjoy it as much as I did!

Minnie and Big Mike are both fun characters and feel real and fresh. I enjoyed the background of biker culture that may or may not be at all real, but that was a nice backdrop.

From page one, we are immediately thrown into the action, and I don't recall any pauses. In fact, the longer I think about this, I'm pretty sure this whole book takes place over about 48 hours. So, yeah, it's a little insta-love, but they don't declare their love for each other, they just end up together at the end of the book, which is a big 'duh' because it's a romance.
So it's a very action based romance that is also a bit funny. Not sure it was totally laugh-out-loud funny, but I was hooked and was definitely smiling. It's hard to describe exactly what was even funny, considering the plot involves kidnapping, fights, biker turf wars, and even a death, but somehow the interaction between Minnie and Big Mike is both sexy and funny, and we are on their side from the beginning.

A few downsides:
- the length, considering I would have happily continued reading for another 100+ pages
- the sex: the tension and buildup was great, it was fun to read how they were attracted to each other and had a grope or two before actual sex. But the sex scene itself was very short and rather lackluster--they did it, the end.
- money and resources: I get that our characters have friends in key places and that money is not really a problem, but that was a small part that I just feel is a bit over done these days
- Also, Minnie coming up with all the plans and just having inspiration hit 4+ times

I liked this story of Minnie and Big Mike. It shows people are not always what they appear to be. Minnie is not some vapid model and Big Mike is capable of caring. They are an unlikely couple but when the dust settles, they make sense. It is a fun read with a bit of comedy, action, and snark.

Thoroughly enjoyed

Honestly I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I’m generally not a fan of romantic comedy but I’ve been in a reading slump so thought why not? While it is numerous there’s enough action to keep it interesting. Minnie is smart, brave, and a bit crazy. Big Mike is huge, muscular, smart, protective, and likes Minnie exactly the way she is.

Cute & Quirky

A fun short story that is over the top, but in all the best ways. One the Run is well written with a fast paced plot and interesting characters. Storyline isn’t deep or thought provoking, but it’s perfect for this book. This was a great light hearted read.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Initially, this novel peaked my interest because the plot seemed witty, and I just happened to be in the mood for a romance. I must say this book did not disappoint. On the Run is exactly what I expected it to be: humorous and adorable.

Big Mike is a tough guy who has had his fair share of fights, and Minnie is an ambitious model who is trying to avoid her biker family upbringing being revealed to the fashion community. When Minnie’s brother, Crash, asks Big Mike to look after Minnie in the midst of a turf war between Minnie’s family’s biker gang and another rival gang, things start to get interesting. I was slightly skeptical in the first few chapters whether these two were going to mesh together well—which is part of what makes this novel so charming. These clashing characters butt heads and drive each other crazy, but they grow on the reader as well as on each other. I would call it an interesting twist on the classic Romeo and Juliet storyline.

Personally, I felt a little at odds with how the book’s perspective changes from chapter to chapter. I appreciated being able to see how Big Mike’s opinion of Minnie morphed as the story progressed (and vice versa), but at the same time it was difficult to tell at the beginning of some chapters who’s view I was seeing the world from.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Despite the danger, a model by the name of Minerva Coolidge decides to escape the confines her family set for her in order to pursue her dream of being a top model. The only way to accomplish that is to attend the biggest fashion show of her career. Her brother enlists the help of an old army buddy, Big Mike, to watch and protect her since their family is in a middle of a turf war.

Minerva annoyed me as a main character as she plunges head first into danger every time she escapes the protection of Big Mike. The story started off with action but as it continued, it became slightly too repetitive with her escaping him all the time. However, I am happy to say that there was a positive growth in her mentality. For Big Mike, I wish we knew more about him than what was written so the romantic connection between them would make more sense.

There were moments in the story that made me smile. Especially when Big Mike first meets Minerva's old neighbour who has been taking care of her cat.

This was an entertaining, quick and completely over the top (but in a good way) read. It was great for a palate cleanser and some of the dry dialogue had me laughing out loud a few times. Minerva (aka Minnie) is an aspirant model. She's close to her big break after being chosen by a lingerie line to model their wares at an up and coming fashion show. She's moved away from her family, determined to make it or break it. The catch? Her father is the president of an outlaw motorbike club and her brother is a psychopathic lieutenant for him. When a turf war starts up with a rival MC, her family try to force Minnie to come home for good where they can keep a close eye on her as well as keep her under their thumb. She's not having a bar of it so escapes out a window with her brother's credit card and books herself a ticket out of there. Enter Big Mike who used to serve in the Forces with Minnie's brother. As a favour, he interrupts her being kidnapped at gunpoint at the airport and is drawn into the impulsive, calculating and surprisingly likeable force that is Minnie. There's an attraction there even though they're polar opposites, but with Minnie determined to never date a biker and Big Mike being from an MC background, chaos ensues. See what I mean by over the top?

Usually when a plot line borders the ridiculous, I'll poke holes all over the place and spend most of the book rolling my eyes. The author did a great job of keeping this book fast-paced and over the top in a good way, the kind where you were rolling your eyes with the characters and laughing along with them rather than wanting to stab something. I really enjoyed it. The action, romance and snappy dialogue were well done and there was a rescue mission and a possible traitor in the midst to keep you on the hook. Minerva's somewhat manipulative and borderline evil genius mind actually endeared her to me, taking the cliché feel off the 'strong and feisty' character pitfall so many other authors lazily fall in to. As for Big Mike? He was a big hit in my book. Strong, silent, grumpy and taking no crap, he was a great character considering he said very little. I like that he wasn't some drop dead gorgeous tag line. There was an element of instalove between the two after the plot had heated up a bit but I like the jealous and possessive alpha types in my books so this didn't worry me.

I really liked the secondary characters as well. Crash (Minnie's brother) was a great character and definitely one I'd like to read more about. The plot was quirky and stood out from the usual action/romance books I've read even though it had a few familiar tropes through it such as MC, gorgeous girl, grumpy Hero and heroine in danger. There was just enough going on even though it was a quicker read. I would have liked some of the latter chapters to be stretched out with a bit more detail as there were a couple of bits in the book that seemed to be tied up quickly or without going into great depth. For example, the traitor story line - it had great potential but was kind of just chucked in there with no real detail given, therefore my investment in it as a reader was almost non-existent which was a bit of a wasted opportunity as it would have added a lot to the story. My other gripe was with one of the secondary characters. I won't spoil anything here, but one of them deliberately did something that would have led to another character being killed. They were aware of it and let it happen so they could get their way about something. This got right up my nose. What could have been a great character made me pretty angry instead and it wasn't resolved as the parties involved were unaware. It annoyed me enough to take off a star because I think the behaviour ruined an otherwise feel-good plot. Not cool.

I'd definitely read another book from this author again and will probably be adding this book into my 'series to continue with' pile.

What a great read! This book pulled me in from the first page and it still has a hold of me.
Minnie is an almost super model. Because of who her family is she is thrown into a turf war between her families biker crew and their rival. Enters Big Mike asked to protect her by her brother Crash. He isn't part of the crew but is a friend from when Crash and him served in the military together. Neither side anticipated how difficult it would be abduct Minnie or protect her. She isn't some bimbo. She grew up in the biker life and she is rebelling against it. She wants to live her own life. One that isn't ran by her dad and brother. She can take care of herself. A point she proves over and over. Big Mike and her start off not being able to stand each other. But slowly those feelings start changing. And now they are both in the middle of this turf war.
I loved every minute of this book. I couldn't put it down. There was so much action. But what really drew me in was Big Mike and Minnie themselves. Their interactions at first had me cracking up. Then they had me swooning. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The author wastes no time getting right into the action and I loved that.
I highly suggest this book to anyone. It's not just romance. It's not just about bikers. It's not just action. It has it all. And I am so excited to read the next book in the series. I can't get enough of Big Mike and Minnie!

This is a fun read! This is also my first book from the author, and this is just one of those books that entertain, if you know what I mean.

The book starts with Minnie, an almost supermodel, coming home to New York (after escaping from his overprotective father and brother) only to be abducted by their family's rival MC. Suddenly, out of nowhere comes Big Mike to the rescue. He also happens to be her brother's reinforcement in bringing Minnie back home to keep her safe. And because Minnie here is not your typical model (meaning she surprisingly has more sass and spark), she and Big Mike ended up living like Bonnie and Clyde, only with no cops involved and in a hilarious fashion.

The development of the story is pretty smooth and organic. I think Big Mike is such an interesting character. He is also more than meets the eye kinda character, like Minnie. And while both MCs have this typical male/ female front, their background and how it subconsciously influenced them (and how that helped them win over their rivals in this story, I must say) give a refreshing mix into how each chapter unfolds. I just wished that this one had more steamy scenes, though. Nonetheless, I think I can overlook that because, as mentioned, this was a fun read.

This will not be my last read from this author. I'd read the rest of the books from the series because the secondary characters are also a delight in this one!

Such a Fun Book!

This was such a fun book! Imagine a motorcycle club romcom. Now I usually stay far away from motorcycle club stories. But this one is just a hoot!

Minnie is the daughter of the head of a motorcycle gang and her brother is an enforcer. They are having trouble with a rival gang and they want to keep Minnie safe. Minnie wants to live her own life and she is a top model in New York. She wants to be #1. Her family wants to keep her safe. She is kidnapped but saved by Big Mike, a former biker who now works in security. Her brother agrees that Big Mike can guard her. But Minnie doesn't want to be guarded and she keeps trying to get away from Big Mike. So Big Mike has to take her everywhere he goes, even on job interviews. Hilarity ensues.

This was an unusual romcom. They are not usually peopled by bikers. It kept me grinning all throuugh the book. If you want a sweet love story that tickles your funny bone, this is it. I highly recommend it.

I bought this book when I was browsing on Amazon a couple months ago.

On The Run by Susan Amanda Kelly pulled me and now I'm devouring the rest of the Lethal In Love series. I loved Minnie's spunky attitude and I can do it myself personality. I liked that she was witty, and was underestimated because of her looks. I liked how even keel Big Mike was and how he just rolled with each punch that came his way while protecting Minnie. I appreciated that this motorcycle romance leaned more comedic. The plot around who was after Minnie and how it was dealt with provided enough suspense, but didn't go over the edge into dark romance. I also LOVED the Christmas epilogue at the end of the story!

The only thing I didn't really enjoy was how derogatory Minnie was towards Big Mike's appearance through the whole story. While I get that the theme of don't judge a book by it's cover was there, Minnie still talked about how plain she found Big Mike even after she fell in love with him. Overall, I really enjoyed On The Run and plan to read the other Lethal In Love stories.

I really, really enjoyed this funny tale!

Like I've done to tons of other books in kindle unlimited I took a chance. I came across it in Instagram & read the reviews. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised & highly entertained. I wasn't expecting or wanting literary perfection. I just wanted to be able to get out of this world and out of my head for a few hours to be entertained. The world is too grim for me to want to read about realistic issues , to be mentally & emotionally burdened. I really respect this author and I'm going to read the rest of her books. She checked all the boxes for me, laugh out loud funny, quirky, Light hearted, Smexy, enough content to make it interesting and characters that we're unrealistically plausible in context without any expectation of being possible! Ultimately the H & h were kind to each other, the story was fast & fun with an HEA. I don't want a heavy 4 course meal. I just want dessert. The 5 stars are because it was like having an extra large serving of my favorite dessert! It made me happy . Thank you Susan.

Random Thoughts and Things:

➸ I know it’s a rom-com, but I wish that the FMC’s disordered eating was touched upon in a more serious matter.

➸ The story and characters didn’t feel fleshed out enough for me to really connect.

➸ Sooooo, I’m shocked that I actually liked Minnie (FMC) after her abundance of tstl behavior at the start of the book. I mean, she was low-key a genius.

This Organized Crime Thriller is exceptional. Minerva Coolidge's family controls a ruthless, outlaw biker gang, the life they intend her to live. But she has different ideas. She wants to be a supermodel. When a turf war breaks out, they attempt to force her to return home, sending Big Mike to put her on a plane. Of course, she rebels.

Violence, sex, and alcohol are the dominant themes. The main characters have a tumultuous relationship. Under the stereotypical nature of biker gangs, men lay claims while women serve. But Minnie is unwilling to be subjugated by anyone. She can and will protect herself. When they're not fighting, they're loving. The headstrong power in their relationship is brilliant. The end is fulfilling.

Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Happily Ever After. Haunting. Romantic. Scary. Steamy. Tragic. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

Quick read. Cute and quirky

Minnie is an up and coming model, hails from a family of lawless bikers, and is just a little bit on the crazy but beautiful side. Mike Is ex special forces And works in security. He was in the military with Minnies brother Crash. He is tasked with making sure she's not kidnapped by rivel gang. Shenanigans ensue As she tries to escape from all the men who want to protect her by a locking her away. She is determined to live life on her terms. Funny, cute and quirky. I really liked Mike. Minnie moved into TSTL a couple of times. Which wss frustrating. This is a test burn beauty and the beast romance. Told from the POV of both main characters. With a cameo from a couple others. All of the characters are interesting. Interesting book but not compelling. 3.5****

On the Run is a funny story about a biker princess who is now a model who is about to get her big break, but her biker family wants her back home. Minnie is our leading lady, she is funny, beautiful, blond and always takes care of herself...even if her protective brother and father think otherwise. Her brother sends his old army buddy Big Mike to get her back home safe and sound. Minnie has other ideas, she is staying in NYC and will take care of herself. Minnie is one tough chick and she will show Big Mike what she is made off. Loved this couple and the storyline. If your looking for humor, action scenes, alpha males and a strong female lead.. than pick up a copy of On The Run..Happy Reading

Fun, enjoyable read

This book was one that popped up on a Facebook rec and I did t hold out a lot of hope, honestly, because many of those have turned out to be duds for me. I was very pleasantly surprised. This is not a deep book. It’s not a tug-on-your-heartstrings book full of angst and emotion. It is a fun, funny “mc biker-esque” book that is perfect for a palate cleanser after a deep/emotional/dark read. It’s a quick, fun, beach book. It’s pretty damn funny and overall lighthearted. Not a lot of spice, but what there is of it is pretty good. Will it win a Pulitzer? No, but Overall, I’m glad I tucked this one in my KU lineup and gave it a chance. I will likely read the rest in this world because the characters were interesting and I want to see where they end up.

It’s crazy, ridiculous, over the top, and just so stinking cute. This is not a group of descriptors I ever thought I’d use for a title that’s part romantic suspense and part motorcycle romance. But it’s all wrapped up in a great big bow of insanity. I don’t quite know how to describe this book without giving away spoilers of the best parts. The intrigue is good, it kept me flipping pages to see what would happen next. That could also be because I wanted to see what outrageous stunt Minnie would pull next. I loved the chemistry between Big Mike and Minnie. It produced some amazing sarcastic one-liners. The snappy banter between the pair was one of the best parts of the book.
