I am a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. I was born and raised in New Jersey so I am very much a city slicker. I moved to Florida to marry my sweetheart after college and marveled at how little there was to do and how much one had to drive to do it! But due to a job change and an abrupt move, we settled in Austin Texas where the motto is 'Keep Austin Weird' and I try my best to uphold it!
I am the mother of 2 great kids and though writing has always been a pursuit I was interested in, being a Mommy got in the way for quite a few years. I decided I would give it a fair shake in 2009 and I haven't been able to quit since. I have 7 novels, a book of short stories, and 2 novellas available. I also have 10 additional started novels in various stages of gestation. I have a hard time stopping my ideas and when a seemingly great idea hits me - typically just as I am attempting to fall asleep - I am compelled to start an outline.
My 2 great talents are:
1. My remarkable ablilty to remember names - which has served me well.
2. My ability to remember lyrics from every song I ever heard in the 70's and 80's - which has not helped me in the slightest.
I have a quirky sense of humor and sometimes TV commercials crack me up.
I like the notion of things being 'meant to be' or somehow touched by the unexplainable. I also like the effect music has on one's state of mind and the memories a song can recall.

He came to this country entangled in a terrorist plot to destroy America and he was, against his will, their secret weapon. Brilliant, yet a man ashamed of what he has become, Erich devised a plan to betray the leaders of the terrorist group, by feeding the US government vital information and then attempting to disappear from the face of the earth. Then, he met her, his own piece of heaven, the woman he would die for, the woman who taught him the meaning of real love and devotion.

Faith secretly had a crush on the darkly handsome man who came to her shop every day. She was drawn to him like a moth to a flame, but the day he stumbled in, half dead, bloody and injured was the day Faith knew she was in love. Fast forward several years and they are married, with a love that knew no bounds, happily planning their future, until Erich’s past caught up with him and his nightmares came back in living color. He will do anything, including die for Faith, the only person who believes the man he wants to be truly exists. Clueless of his past, Faith still follows his unusual directions that would begin the chaos, pain, and deadly separation they must endure. He is determined to atone for his sins, to keep her safe, but it could cost him his life. Love knows no bounds, but how long will she have faith he will return? Will she want him when she knows his dark past? To prove his love, he goes into the very bowels of Hell…for Faith.

Mindy Haig’s The Post Card is a story of faith, love and the need to atone for the past. It is a story of two souls joined as one who will endure the pain of separation, the pain of loss and the heartbreak of not knowing what the future will hold. Part military intrigue, part heartbreaking romance and part suspense, each page is filled with emotion, be it bitter resentment, evil intent or the most passionate feelings of love. Complete with a cast of characters that are unique, humane and sometimes humorous, Ms. Haig takes us on a journey of redemption, of true love and believing in someone so strongly they learn to believe in themselves. Great pacing throughout, high tension and that ending, oh that ending had me in tears!

I received this copy from Mindy Haig in exchange for my honest review.

Every time I step into a world created by Mindy Haig my mind is immersed, transported. There is nothing so thrilling as reading one of her books. In our current time of terror The Postcard is timely, pertinent and important. It shows the hope beyond the dark and the light within it. I loved the love story here as well as how the threat of a terroristic act was portrayed. The main characters are gritty and fully fleshed out. Stunning read! I will begin reading my next Haig book tonight!

WARNING: If you don't believe that sometimes bad things happen to good people, don't read this book. If you don't believe that faith and love can get you through, don't read this book. If you don't believe in love that's worth dying for, PLEASE don't read this book.

I had been thinking about the premise of this story for a long time, thinking about what it would be like to be forced into an organization that you didn't believe in, and what it would take to escape. And then what would happen if they found you.

The Postcard is about a young man who has lived a life he's ashamed of, but he finds a love that is worth living for and that he is willing to die to keep safe. The story is told from the point of view of three different characters, and is at its heart a story of love and friendship.
