New stitches and techniques, and a gorgeous selection of needle lace from around the world are presented in this work. The traditional image of lace is challenged by these designs, which make exhuberant use of colour and materials.'
This is a great introduction to needle lace, and great inspriation. You'll need some basic embroidery experience to get the most out of this book, but a confident beginner could still get a lot out of it. The collection of stitches and how to do them is a fabulous reference. I especially love that there's a visual stitch index in the back. I may well buy a copy of this, so I don't have to get to the library when I want to look up a stitch or browse for ideas.
