This book was a great overview of the life and career of Manet. I didn't appreciate that the author would often mention paintings then not note where I could find an image of the painting in the book. Sometimes it was 20+ pages later, leaving me to either take a break to search for it or simply wonder what the painting could have looked like. It had lots of my favorite little Manet fun facts, like his annoyance at people mixing up his and Monet's name. Great if you want a general overview of Manet and some very light analysis of some of his paintings.
