Bullet Proof

Rate this book
From Liliana Hart’s New York Times bestselling MacKenzie family comes a new story by best-selling author Avery Flynn...

"Being one of the good guys is not my thing."

Bianca Sutherland isn't at an exclusive Eyes-Wide-Shut style orgy for the orgasms. She’s there because the only clue to her friend’s disappearance is a photo of a painting hanging somewhere in Bisu Manor. Determined to find her missing friend when no one else will, she expects trouble when she cons her way into the party—but not in the form of a so-hot-he-turns-your-panties-to-ash former boxer.

Taz Hazard’s only concern is looking out for himself and he has no intention of changing his ways until he finds sexy-as-sin Bianca at the most notorious mansion in Ft. Worth. Now, he’s tangled up in a missing person case tied into a powerful new drug about to flood the streets, if they can’t find a way to stop it before its too late. Taking on a drug cartel isn’t safe, but when passion ignites between them Taz and Bianca discover their hearts aren’t bulletproof either.

A scintillating and fun read! An engrossing prequel for BRAZEN, Book 1 in Avery's new B-Squad series!

He'd started falling for her the moment she walked into Devil's Dip Gym. She'd KO'd him and there was no going back.

BULLET PROOF is a very sexy romantic suspense read! While it was a quick read, the story didn't lack in the telling in the least with well-developed characters and an engrossing mystery. This is the tale of ultra-rich heiress Bianca Sutherland and gym owner Taz Hazard as Bianca will stop at nothing to find Gidget, her missing friend.

Gidget is missing and Bianca isn't about to leave one of her sisters from St. Bernadette's Academy for Young Ladies, known by the students as 'St. B's Reform School for Rich Bitches Who Done Wrong', behind, even if she hadn't seen her for years. All signs point to a drug cartel being involved in Gidget's disappearance. Regardless, Bianca is determined to find her, no matter what it takes.

To that end, she first determinedly undertakes a makeover to become a worthy combatant in a project nicknamed 'Operation-Make-Bianca-A-Bulletproof-Badass.' This step requires an awesome trainer and Devil's Dip Gym run by one hard Tax Hazard fit the bill perfectly. Taz agrees to take her on as a client supposedly to allow Bianca to obtain her state private investigation and security contractor license. But neither she, nor he, planned on their off-the-charts chemistry. Be forewarned that you should have a fan and a cold drink nearby when the couple attends a high-end orgy as the story opens. It only gets hotter from there...

There wasn't a dull moment in this book. The couple's bantering was both scintillating and fun. While this installment is a MacKenzie family novella, it's also a prequel for Avery's new series, the B-Squad. You do not need to have read the MacKenzie series to enjoy it. Now, I can't wait to read more about Bianca's new private investigation company in BRAZEN, B-Squad Book #1!

With one of her best friends from the reform school she spent her teenage years in has gone missing, Bianca, has decided that if no one else will look for her she will. Gidget is glued to her phone and her dog and she is not around either of those. The police are blowing it off, her parents are too busy on vacation to be bothered and enough is enough. Already deciding to turn her life around Bianca is determined to find her friend.

She has one step already in the progress of changing her image and that is working on her private investigator's license. She has been working out at Taz's gym for months now to become "bullet proof" and she is incredibly attracted to the former boxer.

Taz has resisted the pull to Bianca up until the moment he walks in to one of TX sex parties and sees her talking up other men. He decides I'd she is wanting to play this game he will teach her a lesson. That lasts all of about 5 minutes, until the owners of this property takes an interest and now all he can think of is protecting her.

What they both don't realize is that it is definitely going to take more than he realizes and decide to work together. Which is important considering they have both just been drugged.

This novella is hot and sexy and funny and is the introduction of Taz and Bianca's B-Squad series.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Bullet Proof takes place in the world of Liliana Hart’s Mackenzie Family series and is nothing but sizzling sexuality through and through. There is a small amount of mystery/suspense but it’s straight up porn. The story literally starts out in the middle of an A-List Sex Party and heats up from there. This is the story of wealthy former boxer turned gym owner Taz Hazard and rich but not so bad girl Bianca Sutherland.

Bianca has been working out at Taz’s gym for the past 6 months while she has been preparing to get her Private Investigator credentials and open up her own business. She is at the sex party following a lead that she hopes will help her find an old friend named Gidget who has gone missing. Taz intercepts her and ends up helping her on her mission which ends up being a little more than she bargained for. Although Taz portrays himself as a selfish pain in the butt, he genuinely has more than just carnal feelings for Bianca. Their attraction is evident and eventually they find release which may require several cold showers as you read along. The story may be short but the images will last for a while. Of course, it wouldn’t be a good romance without the necessary amount of baggage but I can say that I was at least intrigued by the drama although nothing could overshadow the sex.

Bullet Proof is most definitely a quick and dirty read, pun intended. The passion was intense and the characters were interesting so I would love know what happens next as there were a lot of loose ends.

Bianca may have been born with a silver spoon in her mouth but that didn't protect her family from tragedy and dysfunction. When she was shipped off to St B's boarding school when she eleven, she formed her own family. Fellow misfits banding together over their hatred of the school. But when the school is shut down and they scatter, she feels the loss of her friends.

Deciding to do something more worthwhile with her life than being a lady who lunches, Bianca sets out to be the most bad@&* PI she can be. When she lands at Taz's gym, she can't believe her luck. He's tall, built and droolworthy but so off limits it hurts! But when her friend goes missing she can't rely on anyone but her to find out what happened. When she goes undercover at a high society "adult" club she did not expect to walk into Taz!

Taz was a well known and successful boxer. But after his mentor died and he feels responsible, he settles after taking over his gym. He lusts after a client but sates himself with some adult entertainment. When he sees Bianca he just abouts has a coronary but when she quickly fills him in on Gidgets disappearance, she finds herself with a new partner!

But when the after effects of a drug given to them without their knowledge leads to some interesting after party antics, they both realise that this "thing" they feel is two sided and go with it. As the danger mounts and the leads stack up to who is involved in Gidgets disappearance, more faces from Bianca's past pop up in the most unlikely places, with their own links to Taz and his "brothers".

Brilliantly well written with characters with their own little foibles. I loved Taz and his reluctantly possessive attitude LOL. Bianca could have come over as a ballbuster but she was emotionally fragile and that took some of her edge off. I can't wait to meet the rest of the B-Squad series.

Taz and Bianca have been fighting their attraction for months, so when he finds her at an anything goes party dressed to kill, his inner caveman comes out to play and it's game on! Some extremely hot moments follow, but when they return to reality, how will they decide to go on? Will it they call it just a one night stand with some incredible memories or will one of them find a way to fight for more?

These two people come from very different worlds and they are both fighting some personal demons, yet they just work when they are together. Bianca is intelligent, independent and determined to find a way to make a difference in the world starting with finding one of her best friends who has gone missing. Taz has come a long way from growing up on the streets but he feels as though he still has dues to pay after the death of his mentor. Bianca makes him question everything he has come to believe in the past few years, and when things get a little out of control in her search for Gidget with bullets flying and danger all around them, he has to make a decision about his future.

This was a great novella and it sets up more stories to follow soon about Bianca's new company that she forms with some of her uniquely talented friends, and I can't wait to find out more particularly after catching a glimpse of what promises to be a fun and turbulent ride for her friend Vivi and one of Taz's brothers!

Bullet Proof starts off with a rush of attraction between boxing star Taz Hazard and socialite Bianca Sutherland at an Eyes Wide Shut-style party. She's looking for a missing friend and—once he sees her there--he's trying to keep her out of trouble...the lethal kind.

These two steam up the pages with their smokin' hot chemistry, and their cutting personalities make for a fascinating pairing, all snark and punch and determination. The plot arc is simple and straightforward, the ideal foundation for a book of this shorter length.

Bullet Proof is the starter story for Avery Flynn's B-Squad series, set in Liliana Hart's MacKenzie Family universe, and it's a quick, hot read with a firecracker couple and memorable secondaries. The stage is well set for the real action to begin! Taz & Bianca's story continues in Brazen, first book in Avery Flynn's B-Squad series.

I have loved the MacKenzie series since I read the very first book, this idea to invite some other well known authors to write their own versions of a MacKenzie story could have been a mistake. But of the 2 I have read so far it hasn't been, they are a very good addition to the others and well worth reading. They are not direct family, more like colleague's or former Seals who still have attachments to one or more members of the family. Each have their own unique story to tell, that keep you on the edge of your seat with the suspense and tension of whatever quest the characters are involved with trying to solve. Although none of these books are overly long they do have a lot packed into them so are worth buying and reading and each adds another dimension to the main series. Each of the invited authors have done a creditable job, making the characters believable and in some cases blending extremely well with members of the family and security firm, to the point you forget that its not Lilianna Hart that wrote it.

Bianca Sutherland’s friend from boarding school is missing, and she thinks she could find information at Bisu Manor, a sex club. She’s convinced that clues lie in the owners’ art collection. Taz Hazard is a client of Bisu, and he is also her boxing trainer, and he doesn’t want to see her there. But he also wants her to himself. BULLET PROOF is Avery Flynn at her snarkiest, sassiest, and sexiest. The story itself is rather slim, but I loved the backgrounds on Bianca and Taz; there is a bit of action and a whole lot of sexy. Ms. Flynn’s descriptions and tone are so crisp and vivid, BULLET PROOF has the feel of a graphic novel. BULLET PROOF is the beginning of a new series that should be quite entertaining, and I do hope we see more of Vivian Yang; what a character! Well done, Ms. Flynn!

Part of Mackenzie series. This story is about Bianca and Taz she goes to his gym and has hots for her. They see each other in a party and Taz already put a clame on her. She is not there to play and yes to find her missing friend that she not see for a long time.

There is no action until the end. Its more about swtich infos and find her friend and Bianca who wants to do something good as building her own private investigation firm. The romance was cool but too suddenly. Taz was very alpha male towards her and he was too confusing he wants to share in the party but also wants her for him?!

And after just one hot night he already love her? I dont like this reformed boy 'cause they have crazy monkey sex.

This book is more like a prequel for the new series The B-Squad I actually like the name and funny too.

No matter how many of Avery's books I read I always find myself falling in love with her writing all over again. I'm never disappointed and this one was no exception. I just love the magic she weaves when creating her characters. The chemistry between Bianca and Taz is great and you can feel a connection. Things get really hot in this one. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and sucked me right in. This book is a novella in the Mackenzie Family. I could not put it down until I finished. The good thing is it could be read in one sitting, but on the other hand it was so good I wish it was longer. Though it does set up well for future books. Even the secondary characters are great!

When rough and rowdy meets sophistication you get Bianca and Taz. Both are from completely opposite world but come together and create fireworks. Bianca is out to find her friend Gidget and the clues lead her to Bisu Mansion where she meets Taz the ex-boxer who has been training her for the past few weeks. They've been fighting their attraction to each other but Bisu Mansion is the one place where inhibitions are banned. Once Taz realizes what she is up against, keeping Bianca safe becomes his mission. Because now they can pull no punches when it comes to their feelings for each other.

I received this ARC for an honest review. This book was great! I love the hero and heroine and the way they interact. They have such great chemistry! The hero is an alpha male for sure. Likes to be in control and commands your attention. The heroine is feisty, confident and knows what she wants. The storyline is great. You've mystery and suspense and definitely a lot of sexy times.
The only thing wrong is that I wish it was longer! I can't wait to read Brazen because it continues their story. I definitely recommend this book because it draws you in and doesn't want to let go!

Bullet Proof by Avery Flynn held me hostage until the end of the story. I could not put this book down, I had to finish it. Oh my goodness Avery Flynn starts this story with a bang, it is fast paced and full of suspense, crime, sizzling sex and very hot characters. Bianca and Taz are both beautiful, strong and oh so much chemistry between these two the pages burn up. I highly recommend this book to everyone, this is a must read.

I was given an ARC of this great book, for my honest review.

This short little story grabs attention and I read it in one sitting. It was suspenseful, VERY sexy and the opening scene certainly had me sitting up straighter. The characters had chemistry! I love it when a female character can take care of herself. I love it just as much when her man insists on taking care of her. I look forward to reading more about Taz and Bianca in the coming B-Squad series because this one was too short. I wish it was a little longer.

Audible book review:
Overall: 4
Story: 3
Performance:
Noah Michael Levine: 4
Carly Robins: 4

I enjoyed the voices of both narrators. When their separate narrations were put together the shift from one voice to the other was sometimes a bit abrupt - not their fault but the fault of the final editing.

This was a quick listen coming in at just under 3 hours. I like this length of story because it's usually easy for me to finish in one evening.

The sex in this story is smoking hot but things moved along awfully quickly. At the time I borrowed this from Audible's Escape program I didn't know that it was the beginning of Avery Flynn's B Squad so I was a bit surprised with the sort of cliffhanger ending.

The story for the main couple ends with an HFN but there is a lot left unresolved. The B-Squad Series sounds interesting.

Having no knowledge of the Mackenzie Family series, I didn't have any expectations going into this novella. I liked that there were casual mentions, but that the book didn't hinge on the Mackenzie characters, so I didn't feel lost or like I was missing a lot of backstory. The premise is good, and I love Bianca's drive for her own PI business. Considering this book was intended as a prequel to set up the B-Squad series, it was understandable that the main focus was on the main couple. I would have liked more of the mystery/suspense part, but I expect that to be more fully developed in the novels to come.

Having read the original Mackenzie series, I think my expectations were wrong for this book. Anticipating a more suspense filled book, I was caught off guard when I got a lot of romance and very little suspense. Bianca does have a LOT of motivation for setting up her detective agency and I am glad she will have some great help. The writing was sound and I definitely plan on reading at least the first full book in the series to see how the author develops these new tales.

Bullet proof by Avery Flynn was a quick good read. Bianca seemed like a strong and determined character, which I loved. Taz was a strong and confident man and the two of them together definitely caused sparks. I've never read any of the Mackenzie Family books, but I had no problems following this story. I'll definitely be reading more of the series now because I love a good P.I. book, which this promises to be.

Cute little novella that does a long in a sort time. Excellent set up for Avery’s B-Squad series. There are sex parties, missing girls, sexy boxers (human not underwear), two tragic pasta, a drug bust, and the start of a bass-ass female main character series. A fun and spicy read that fir sure left me wanting to devour all of the follow-up books.

I imagine this book was the setup of a series and can appreciate it for what it was intended to be. What I liked was that the books was quick-paced and the female characters were strong. I would love to read more of the series if it revolves around the PI firm!
