His second chance may cost him his sweetest addiction …
The truth about NEVEAH’S cheating fiancée hit hard—but not as hard as her right hook to his jaw. After ridding herself of him she travels back home to Huntsville, Texas to her father and his boxing gym where she grew up. When she finds a beaten man in the woods beside her home, her entire life changes and things get—complicated.
Ex-con RAGE only wants two things—for the man that set him up to release his sister, and for him to burn in Hell where he belongs. After being released from prison, he heads straight to the man that put him there, only to be beaten and tossed in the woods for dead. When he’s found by the most beautiful girl he’s ever met, he knows he’ll have a chance to rescue his sister even though she doesn't realize she needs saving.
Neveah and her father, nurse Rage back to heath, offer him a job at their gym and quickly find out that he’s amazing in the ring. Without them knowing who he is, he knows he’s been given a second chance to live his life. The only condition is that he has to stay away from Neveah, which is a promise he soon realizes is hard to keep. The feisty southern beauty normally gets what she wants, and Rage wants to give her everything.
With the truth lurking in the shadows, Rage must decide if his sweetest addiction is worth giving up his second chance.
Wow! Redemption by Alla Kar was hot, fast-paced and all sorts of exciting! I can’t say that the novel was flawlessly written, but it definitely caught my attention and had me rooting for Rage and Neveah from the moment they met! These two characters were a perfect mix with their off-the-charts chemistry and fair share of obstacles.
Rage Cohen has one thing on his mind the moment he’s released from prison, and that is to save his younger sister from the clutches of the drug lord Dexter who was the reason he was imprisoned. When his rescue attempt lands him in a wooden area nearly beaten to death, he knows his breaths are numbered until an Angel crosses his path and saves him.
The last thing on Neveah’s mind is falling in love after being cheated on by her fiancé. When she leaves Phoenix, and heads back to Huntsville, Texas to work at her father’s boxing gym, she stumbles upon a handsome, injured stranger behind her home and knows immediately that a connection is inevitable. However, with Rage’s shady past and his promise to Nev’s father to stay away from his daughter, the odds are stacked against them from the very beginning.
First off, I enjoyed Rage and Nev’s story. Alla Kar has a way of drawing her readers into her novel with fast-paced action, likable characters and steady paced drama that never feels over the top. Rage and Neveah had a ton of chemistry between each other, and I enjoyed Rage’s alpha-male moments that were all well intended. He showed how much he cared for Nev and proved he was willing to sacrifice anything to keep her safe.
The secondary characters, including Wes, Shelly, Chase and Dante were a perfect compliment the story. I could easily pick up a novel that was dedicated to these characters.
Overall, Redemption is a perfect fix if you’re in the mood for an exciting novel that’s filled with erotic moments and perfectly matched characters.
I absolutely LOVED this book. I'm so sick of alpha billionaires that simply look at a girl and she's pulling off her underwear. I wanted to see the tension and connection, I found it in this book. I swooned for hours.
And you'll see why when you read it! YOU MUST READ IT!
Rage Cohen is unbelievably sexy and strong.
Not to mention Nevaeh our mc. She's so strong which is a relief from all the weak mc's lately. I LOVE HER and HIM. I can't wait for the second installment SALVATION! AHHH!
ARC provided for honest review 10 stars for this book !!!! Rage has had a hard life doing things he never wanted to do in order to help his sister make a life for herself, only when he tries to get out he is set up and sent to jail. Now that he is free all he wants to do is save his sister from the man who ruined his life but at what cost !!! When he is left for dead and almost gives up an angel named neveah saves him !! Can he be the man she deserves and will she let her guard down to love again ?? The chemistry is so strong between rage and nev I couldn't get enough and never wanted to put it down.. Alla kar is amazing and I always get lost in her stories!! I can't wait to see what happens next ❤️
Neveah's reaction when she learn's of her fiancee's infidelity is not typical. She's not heart broken, she's mad and maybe a little glad that she didn't go ahead with her plans to marry. She returns home to Huntsville and her priorities at the moment are simple--spend time with her father, get her life back on track. Her plans change when she encounters a badly beaten man in the woods near her home while out on an morning run. Neveah's not looking to get involved, but her attraction to the mysterious stranger is more than she can stand.
Rage is out of prison and determined to get her sister back from the man who put him in there. His initial plans are thrown out the window when he ends up beaten up and left for dead. He's lucky enough to be found on time, giving him the chance to try his hand at confronting his enemy once again and save his sister. What he wasn't counting on was to become inexplicably lost in the woman who rescued him. Try as he might, he can't seem to stay away and soon he finds himself rescuing both his sister and the woman he loves.
What initially attracted me to this story was the concept, especially since the 'heroine' seemed like the strong, take-no-bullshit type and she was paired with a man just as strong and badass. It made for some entertaining reading watching these two comes to blows at every turn while they fought their attraction to one another.
Alla Kar did a great job of bringing Neveah and Rage's chemistry the page. The attraction between these two could not be denied and it took center stage whenever they shared space. I appreciated that the author took her time in bringing them together since their bickering, flirty banter and heated exchanges only added to my anticipation of finally seeing them together. That first encounter was well worth the wait!
The only fault I could find after reading this story, which I admit is more of a personal preference rather than anything else, was that I found the connection between Neveah and Rage to be lacking in places. In the beginning, I accepted that Neveah and Rage's connection would be incomplete because Rage had to keep his secrets. This would ultimately hinder the development of their connection. However, as the story progressed and Rage came clean about his past and his plans to save his sister, I expected to see more of growth in regards to their connection. Unfortunately, I was given more intimate moments. And although these helped Neveah and Rage's connection along, they weren't enough for me to invest myself in their relationship.
As the first book in a series, Redemption did a great job of introducing the characters and establishing the world around them while still bringing forth the romance between Rage and Neveah. I will definitely keep my eye out for the next book to come.
All in all, a steamy sexy romance!
*I received a copy of this title in exchange of my honest opinion.
This book is told my the perspectives of Neveah and Rage. Neveah, a 21-year-old, who has just returned home to her father, Wes, after breaking up with her cheating fiancee. Neveah breaks up with her fiancee in grand style. Neveah was raised by her father after her mother died when Neveah was very young. Neveah’s father owns and operates a boxing gym and has trained Neveah very well in the art of boxing. She’s one bad ass!
Rage, aka, Declan Samuels, has just been released from prison after being set up by his former boss and drug dealer, Denver, who is now “dating” Rage’s sister, Hannah. Rage attempts to rescue his sister from Denver but things go horribly wrong and Rage is severely beaten and left for dead on Wes’ property. Neveah, while going for a morning run, finds Rage and calls her dad to help save him from near death. Ultimately, Wes allows Rage to live on his property and work for him at the boxing gym with the promise that Rage stays away from Neveah and vice versa.
The chemistry between Neveah and Rage is instantaneous and eventually the two become secret lovers. Rage has been in prison for a few years so you know how that goes, but he also has a few more dark secrets yet to be revealed. Rage tries to keep his dark and dangerous past hidden, but eventually, his past catches up with him and Neveah is caught in the cross fire.
Is Rage able to rescue his sister? Is Wes able to forgive Neveah and Rage for their romance? Does Rage’s past cost him everything including Neveah? You will have to read the book.
This book has it all. A strong woman, a swoon-worthy male, suspense and mind blowing sex scenes.
Favorite line from the book: “You lead me to my redemption,” she whispered. I shook my head. “No. You are my redemption, Angel.”
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. My review is based upon my personal experiences with reading the book and are my opinions alone.
I'm so happy I got the chance to read Redemption. It pretty much has everything I love in a romance novel.
Sexy/bad ass/over protective Alpha male? Check. Funny, headstrong Heroine? Check. Funny and/or sexy secondary characters? Check (for some reason I have an odd fascination with Nevaehs dad lol) Interesting plot line? Check Dirty talk? Omg hell yes!
I really enjoyed this book. I found Neavehs character funny, sassy and determined. Some of her inner monologue was just hilarious. Now, Rage Cohen.. Damn. I didn't realize I wanted an ex-con as my new book boyfriend :). He maybe an ex-con but its not as bad as you think. I loved how protective Rage was with Neavaeh. Not to mention their chemistry was off the charts. I'm pretty sure I was blushing more than her! It also made me sad to read what Rage thought of himself. But I'm sure most people would think the same thoughts if they were in his position when it came to his past.
Chase and Aunt Shelly were just too funny. They really made this book so much better. Love them.
Overall, great book! I enjoyed the dual POV. The storyline was simple and easy to understand. The story was written perfectly. I highly recommend this book! I can't wait to read Chase and Hannah's story!
I was kindly given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book caught my eye because it was set in Huntsville Texas. I went to college in Huntsville so to say that I am very fond of the town in an understatement.
Match that with a fighter romance and oh boy... this girl is in serious trouble.
This book is pretty typical of fighter romance. Girl hates boy, oh wait girl actually wants to have sex with boy and boy & girl fall for each other.
This is the formula. Under normal circumstances I would constantly roll my eyes... but make it a fighter romance and my rules go out of the window.
this was a fantastic book and I will be keeping my eyes open for this author in the future. It was well written and the characters were developed and real enough I wanted to keep reading the book.
great story! I will be watching for sequels to this story for sure. Even though the H pushes the h away at first, he was trying to keep his promise. He was a great alpha who only had eyes for the h. Loved the secondary characters as well. This is my first book that I've read by Alla Kar and certainly not my last
Just WOW this book is a well deserved 5 stars after the forever series I wasn't sure alla could top this but she has and Rage is just perfect can't wait to read the next instalment
This is the first book that I read from this author and it will not be the last. The book starts off fantastic and I have to say I loved Neveah’s personality. She was full of spunk and didn’t take crap from no one until she meets up with Rage. Even than she gives him a run for his money. Both characters were strong headed and I loved the chemistry and flirting that went on between them. You could tell that they were attracted to each other but tried to keep their distance.
“You’re not my boss. I checked with the boss of me, and she said I could wear whatever the fuck I wanted to wear.”
Rage was a walking, talking sex on a stick. That dirty little mouth of his had me needing to change my panties a few times. The things that would come out of his mouth had me blushing. He had a sweet side and I felt horrible for what he went through in life.
“I’m not falling for your tricks,” I said. “I know you want me to fall for this bad boy bullshit but asshole isn’t my style.”
I loved the relationship that Neveah had with her father, Wes and her Aunt Shelly. Shelly was another funny character. The things that came out of her mouth were fantastic. All the secondary characters really made this book fun and interesting.
The story was fast paced and I am a huge fan of that. The only thing that didn’t sit well with me was how quickly the relationship between Rage and Neveah changed from being attracted to each other to soul mates. I would of liked to have see more growth. I also thought that the ending was a little two rushed.
Overall, I really did enjoy this story from start to finish and loved all the characters in this book. The humor and chemistry between them all was fantastic.
Rage was in heaven, and the Angel smiled upon him – and so did I!
Despite his past, and perhaps because of his future plans – to save his sister- I loved Rage. His cockiness was offset by a touch of chivalry, and his strength and dedication were Swoon-worthy (pun intended). He is brazen, large, and in charge, and could be the poster boy for alpha male.
With a soft, feminine inside protected by a tough, hard-as-nails coating, Nevaeh can hold her own, except when it comes to her attraction to Rage. No matter how much he irritates her (so she says), she can’t deny the strong pull they have to each other, and soon realizes, he’s just what she needs, and more importantly, wants. Kar created strong characters who draw the reader in. I loved reading about them and watching their relationship unfold. I wanted them together, and my heart ached when they were temporarily apart. I could feel their pain, and I was with them the whole way.
I enjoyed the secondary characters, and they played their parts beyond satisfactorily. I enjoyed the banter between Rage and Dante, as well as Chase and Nevaeh. I can’t say who I liked the most – Chase or Dante (despite his profession), and I will be reading more of the series to learn their stories. I can tell Chase is next, and how ready I am to read about him and Hannah :).
With a mind-grabbing premise, strong characters, and lively climax, this time-taker is worth a purchase.
Rage has a lot to hide. He was left for dead and found by Nevaeh. Her dad has warned them to stay away from each other but, you can't help who you fall in love with.
Nevaeh has just busted her fiance cheating on her and gone home to her dad's to get over it when she stumbles across Rage on the riverbank left for dead. She knows he is trouble but can't stay away from him. She knew from the start he was hiding something and when he eventually tells her, it has the opposite effect. She doesn't run from him like he thought she would she wants to help him. In order to keep her safe he needs to make sure she stays right out of his issues. Unfortunately things don't always go to plan and before she knows it she is knee deep in Rages mess with no idea how she is going to get out of it.
Even though most of the time you can see clearly where this story is headed you still won't want to put it down. It is full of mystery and anticipation. The sex is hot, the boys are hot and the story is intriguing.
I like books that take off from the get go and keep a steady pace all the way through. If this is the type of book you like then you will want to check this one out!
This was a DNF for me. First, trying to overlook the name Neveah was impossible. That name annoys the crap out of me (and I am a teacher-I have seen some ridiculously annoying names but this one is the top of my annoying list). Second, the plot was off for me. I can't exactly say it was slow, but maybe I thought it was. Maybe it just didn't click with me. Whatever the reason, I just could not get into this book. It had all the markings of a perfect read for me: bad boy, MMA, and danger. It just didn't hold my attention. Will this be one I revisit in the future? Maybe. Perhaps I just couldn't get into it now and might be able to later.
