Shipping twice in November! While Wonder Woman leads an American infantry division in an attack on an Axis battalion, Harley makes a none-too-graceful landing in France, where she encounters a woman with a strange affinity for plants. Plus, Supergirl and Stargirl fly home to protect their parents, only to be attacked by a fearsome forest spirit known as the Swamp Thing.
Sorry to sound like a broken record, but I am totally loving this line and kicking myself that I'm so behind in the issues. The artwork is so gorgeous, I am looking to frame my single issues and hang up in my new room.
This was my favourite of the bombshells so far! All three of the stories were really strong! Batwoman/Girl? in Berlin, Harley and Poison Ivy in France and Supergirl and her sister in Russia. I'm still not a 100 percent sure I like the Russians as the bad guys in a WWII story, but they had more of the folktale elements in the story again and I really liked that. Harley and Poison Ivy remain one of the cutest couples ever and there was a nice lot of intrigue in the first story to balance it all out. I do love this series.
The story is fun. The graphics are in sync with the vintage look but with a contemporary twist. Marguerite Bennett delivers a good story. Marguerite Savage set the bar for the illustrators (half of them men in this sequence) and the vintage look is never too much. I liked that all three stories of the original launch are moving along and that another one was added. I liked the whole women of WW2 angle being action heroes in every shape, shade and sides. I wait until I have a few episodes to read and sit and read all of them in one go. Then I wait again. But it's a good thing.
In this episode with rejoin Kara and Kortni as they are captured but turn things around.
Harley Quinn makes her return, and Poison Ivy and Selina, well, Catwoman sort of makes an appearance as well. Still a good story, but I'm sort of rooting for it to delve off so I can get a full story of one character.
My favorite of the series so far. Last issue had me losing hope because it was so scattered, but this brought it all together nicely with fantastic storyline and action.
