I loved the first book in this series! Didn't read the second one yet but have it and plan on reading it one day. This third book though I didn't love. I liked it ok but I can't place my finger on what didn't work for me.
Maybe it was his name...Boner being cried out when they had sex. Lmao! Maybe it was because Jill was so damn sweet. Maybe because there wasn't hardly any drama till the end then it got tied in a bow quickly. Maybe it was because all Boner and Jill's thoughts were about sex over and over and over. I really don't know.
Will I be reading the next one? Yes! Can't wait! Hopefully it will be better for me:))

Cat Porter has written a magical, intense, sexy and incredibly satisfying story. Boner made my heart race and captured my soul!

"You reminded me that there’s still magic,” he whispered roughly. “That there are things of wonder still left to experience.”

I am a HUGE fan of MC Romance books and Cat Porter is at the top of my list of favorite authors in this genre! Lock & Key, the first book in this series, remains one of my all-time favorite books. Random & Rare contented the experience of her absolutely flawless writing and now we have the third book in the series, which is Boner and Jill's story.

Boner is a total bad-ass, who has been attracted to Jill for a long time but won't act on it. He's too old for her; she isn't sure she wants to go back to club life again; etc. etc. Jill had been with Catch, another biker and the father of her child, and it ended badly. But who can resist Boner, the sexy biker with a painful past? And how he got his road name...well, you'll have to read for yourself! It's not what you think. I fell in love with him and hoped that Jill could help him overcome his demons.

"Was I only pieces patched together by a leather vest?"

Even though Boner think Jill is off-limits, he offers her his protection and let's just say things progress from there. At first, their "relationship" is just for show but since this is a romance after all, they both quickly come to realize they have real feelings for each other. And the Victoria's Secret scene? Oh my God!!! My favorite.

I loved reading about Boner's painful past and the action scenes are fantastic. While this doesn't knock out Lock & Key as one of my all-time favorite books, it is a fantastic, sexy, fast-paced and passionate story which I enjoyed immensely. The Epilogue was superb! All in all, Iron & Bone is another must-read book from the incredibly talented Cat Porter.

Amazing...amazing! Cat Porter did an outstanding job bringing Iron & Bone back to the levels of Lock & Key. The complicated relationship between Boner and Jill was raw and emotionally intense. My heart broke for the enforcer and all he suffered.

I BELIEVED THAT HATE remains buried in our marrow. Does it ever soften? Does its power over us fade? Maybe. Maybe if you were able to forgive. The glacial dark eyes of Alejandro Calderone told me different. His was a hate born of passion, full of fire.

I absolutely love this biker series, and in my opinion it is one of the better ones out there, it is superbly written and has a classy feel that I sometimes find lacking in this subgenre.

This is book 3 in the Lock & Key series, and follows the journey of Boner and Jill, and is a second chance romance in a way, a story of two people who have always known that they have a strong connection to the other, but where life has got in the way of their true path.

Jill was a strong heroine, and Boner was a true alpha who had a complex past that made for an interesting read. He knew Jill was too good for him, but his instinct to protect her grew too strong.

"I would protect her with every ounce of whatever strength and cunning was left in me. I would hold on to what I had claimed."

A good solid story from Cat Porter and the epilogue was wonderful, I can't wait to hear more from this gang.

Iron & Bone is part of a series, but it could be read as a standalone. Told in dual POV

That cover tho… 😋not actually how the guy in the book is described. Boner is 45, Jill is 32. He has Argentinian heritage, long dark hair, a short beard and mustache. He doesn’t look like the guy on the cover. But I’ll imagine him as the guy on the cover…

It was good. I don’t know why I’m not giving it 5 stars. It was lyrical and deep feeling. No cheating. Of course there’s other women/ woman at first but Boner broke it off the moment he went after Jill. And he backed it up by making it VERY clear to Mindy (his fuck buddy of a month) how it was, and how she mattered to him not at all. Men are assholes to women they don’t care about and just have sex with.

Jill is a strong woman, which I liked. She saved Boner. She survived her own horrors. She never gave up on him and gave him everything she had. He’s the same.

OK, I convinced myself to give this 5 stars. 4.5 rounded up.

I have been on pins and needles all year anxious to get my hands on Boner and Jill’s story. I have made no secret of how much I love this series. With the way Cat uses words, the setting, depth, and rich characters it is one of the best biker romance series out there. So that being said, while I enjoyed Iron & Bone it didn’t dethrone my top read of 2015 Random and Rare.

Iron and Bone picks up a few weeks after Random and Rare ended. Jill is now carrying Grace and Lock’s baby via surrogacy, being a good mom to Becca, and living with Rae. Jill is happy in her situation and looking forward to her future, but she still feels it is all very temporary and not sure what will happen after the baby is born.

Boner and Jill have been fighting their attraction since she arrived in town. We finally get a few glimpses into their past interactions through Dig. Although Boner doesn’t think he should have Jill the problems from her past force him to declare Jill his “Old Lady”, and once his choice is made he doesn’t step back.

I can’t really delve into the story in my review due to spoilers so I will just mention a few likes/dislikes. My favorite thing in this book was the Victoria’s Secret scene, it was just all kinds of WOW!! It wasn’t just what happened, it was all the freaking sexual tension that EXPLODED in that scene. Well done Cat and thank you for the lady boner!!

I absolutely loved Jill going for what she wanted sexually, she rocked!! We don’t see many heroines that do this in books. They all wait for the man to make the move but every time Jill pushed Boner I was cheering for her. I also loved how sassy Jill was and how Boner fell in love with little Becca. I think Boner needed that lightness in his life.

I did feel like things weren’t quite explained well or fleshed out. The back and forth between Jill and Boner over the “old lady” status frustrated me with Jill a bit. Boner’s past was as dark as I expected it to be and surprising too. I do think the issues with Ines were focused on a bit too much so it took focus away from Jill and Boner. I feel like it was to make the Calderon aspect fit in but it just didn’t work for me. For me the issues with Calderon and the Blades wrapped up too fast.

All that said I would highly recommend I&B if you are fan of this series. There are lots of wonderful things to be discovered in this book and it's a great addition.

Now we wait for Butler’s story and Cat leaves us with some major questions as to where his story will go. I can’t wait!!!

**I received an ARC courtesy of the author and The Dirty Book Girls book blog as a guest reviewer in exchange for an honest review.

*4.5 stars*

**My review contains Lock & Key and Random & Rare spoilers**

Jill is now several months pregnant. She is carrying Grace and Miller's baby as a surrogate. A move that earned her massive loyalty and respect from Grace's bff, Boner. Jill didn't have the most welcome introduction to the club. She was saved by Dig many years ago but when she tried to pay her respects to Dig's widow, Grace, she was turned away by Boner at every attempt. I liked that we got a few of those scenes.

But Jill is no stranger to the life as an old lady. She was Catch's woman and he is Becca's father. But she got shot of him and moved to Meager to stay with his sister, Tania, and his mom, Rae. I loved how Boner was with Becca. Her calling him Bo-Bo was adorable. I also liked how Jill wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted. She wanted Boner and made sure he knew it. Of course, Boner is attracted to her but Jill isn't a 'hit it and quit it' kind of girl and he's not sure how to handle it.

We get quite a bit of Boner's background - his mom's death, his first love, his introduction to crime. But I really would have liked more scenes with Boner's stint in juvie. Particularly since that's where he met Dig. In fact, I would have liked more scenes in general of Boner's past with Dig. But I would like scenes with Dig all day, every page. That's just me. Lol.

A new thorn in the One-Eyed Jacks' side is introduced and concluded in this book. It actually had me questioning why Boner didn't deal with this sooner.

I also liked Butler's role. He's been clean for a year and I like his confident, take charge attitude. I'm looking forward to his book.

The epilogue was brilliant. Jill's gift to Grace and Miller is beyond words beautiful. I was so emotional. Iron & Bone didn't knock Random & Rare from the number one spot but it's definitely a worthy book in the series. Well done!

Iron & Bone is the third book in this series and while I really liked the first two, this one didn't give me "the feels" the others gave. This one is about Boner and Jill. We meet both these character in the first books but now we get to read their back story and watch how their relationship unfolds.

January 2017 --

Love this series. Boner is so interesting. He has so many dimensions. He is the Enforcer for his MC. He is the loyal friend to his close circle. He has that knack for lightening tense situations. He has experienced such pain and loss in life. He is someone you'd want to know and have in your life. He deserves the sweetness of Jill.

Top things I liked about this book:
1 -- I think this will be reoccurring theme for me with this author and series -- the voice of this author. I think she has done an excellent job. Everything I look for in a book is here; well developed, multi-dimensional characters, an interesting plot line, just enough detail in the backstory, romance that builds and builds in a realistic way, length that goes with the story rather than too short or too long -- just right. All the elements.
2 -- The cover here is awesome. The title is perfect. You don't get it until you dive into the book, but it pulls you. Once you dive into the story, you get it. It really is perfection.
3 -- The intelligence in word artistry is amazing. This author has such a poetic, but at the same time gritty and precise, way of constructing her sentences, paragraphs, pages, chapters .. throughout this book and this whole series is really very impressive.

Were there items I didn't appreciate? Reflecting and I'm not sure any are really worth noting. I'm pretty happy with this book. I'm so happy I listed to Daniela and gave this author/series another try. Happy isn't really enough. I throw out a special thanks to her.

Happy Reading!

Book 3 in the Lock & Key series. These books do have a series story arc and in my opinion you really need to have read books 1 & 2 to enjoy Iron & Bone to its fullest.

Unusually for me I am at a loss for words. My usual MO at this point is to give you an overview of the story and pose questions that will make you want to pick up the book and find the answers for yourself. This truly is a book that I can’t do that with. I will refer only to the synopsis that Ms Porter has provided and if you read that, you will like me head into this book fairly blind as to the direction it will take. I have no intentions of spoiling that for you. The beauty of this book, indeed this series is that you never quite know the pathway that the author is going to lead you down.

This is Boner’s story, and man what a story it is. I am not letting the cat out of the bag by telling you that this is also Jill’s story, as we have witnessed a growing attraction between them since her arrival. The story itself starts very soon after the conclusion of R&R and with Jill now living in Meager and carrying Lock and Grace’s baby, she becomes part of club through default.

The story takes us into Boner’s past, which continues to haunt him, dictating his life so many years later. Added to that, you get a glimpse into how the loss of Dig and then Grace effected a man so damaged by loss already. The pull he feels towards Jill is undeniable, but one that he is determined to keep at arms length; until his hand is forced. Will he be able to bury the past to move forward into the future with his Firefly?

If you didn't already love Boner, then this book will seal it for you. Hard as bone on the outside but as soft as molten iron in the middle. His loyalty is his weapon of choice, but don’t break it or he might break you. His moments with Jill will leave you needing a cold shower, whilst his interactions with Becca will make you swoon.

Everything about this book says 5 crowns. The writing is superb, the atmospheric words and the flow of the story are just amazing. This author can write, make no mistake about it. The web of a story she has weaved is just EPIC.

If you are a fan of MC romance this is an absolute MUST READ. It is one of my favourite series in this genre. But more than that I am a huge fan of the style of writing that flows from Cat Porter’s fingertips. If you want EPIC, I can’t recommend this series enough.

Shhhh… I hear Butler’s story calling ;)

#LadyBoner

"We convince ourselves we're free, but we aren't, not really.
Running from the bad things, running from the good things- they both have power over is. Both haunt, fluttering over is with vague glories, tinting us with deep failures."

Of course my man is an orphaned gypsy poet with incestuous tendencies.

"Two small silver hoops in one earlobe along with his exceptional hair and beard rounded off the image of the dark-road Caballero, the insolent gypsy, the outsider rogue who wouldn't fit into any peg or gipve into any rules, and that's just the way he liked it, damn it."

Don't judge him, you don't know his life, not yet.

"Boner was the sage enigmatic phantom who visited you only in the shadows of the night."

Boner had a rough start. Making his way through life with iron, against bone, to survive. Fleeing with his cousin put of the hell that was their life, trying to make it on their own, so they don't have to be separated, joining with some unsavory characters. Things don't go so well for Bone though, his life takes an even more unexpected turn, which leads him to the path of Dig, and later, Grace and Jill.

Boner and Jill are an unlikely pair. As Boner had a rough childhood, these two had a very rough start. 17 year gap from one meeting to the next. Boner doesn't know what to make of Jill. Is she a groupie? Does she have hero worship? But they way she selflessly offered to help Grace has him in wonder and he can't seem to keep away.

"You reminded me that there's still magic," he whispered roughly. "That there are things of wonder still left to experience."

It's always a huge shocker to find your name in the acknowledgements. I am humbled beyond all belief. I am also ashamed it too me THIS long to read it.
I needed to be ready for Boner. I wasn't disappointed and I couldn't love him more.

"Unusual streaks of starlight shooting across my black sky- that was what it would be like."

I can't wait to finally meet this lady and her wonderful words in person in a few days!

ARC received from author for my honest review

I’ve been excited for Jill & Boner’s book since the end of Random & Rare. The book picks up a few weeks after the conclusion of R&R, with Jill being the surrogate for Grace & Lock’s baby. Jill is living with her daughter’s paternal grandmother, helping Rae with day-to-day living, as Rae was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Jill wants her daughter to know her grandmother, despite that fact that Becca’s father (Catch) doesn’t seem interested in that happening.

Both Jill and Boner seem to want to build a relationship, but Boner is still hiding from his past and Jill isn’t sure she wants to be an “Old Lady” again, especially after the way things went with Catch. Things happen (not going to spoil that for you!!), which push Boner into declaring Jill as his. She believes it’s more for her protection than Boner truly wanting her. She learns fairly quickly that Boner did it for both reasons.

While I did really enjoy the book overall, I did have some issues that left me questioning what exactly happened. We learn about Boner’s past, although not nearly as in-depth as I would have liked. I felt that Boner’s past with Ines was maybe overemphasized and took away from his and Jill’s story, just a bit. The ending with Calderon and the Blades seemed to wrap up a lot more quickly than I was anticipating. And this is all on me…..I was expecting more of his and Dig’s friendship and what truly made them see each other more as brothers than just as friends.

I enjoyed the epilogue….so much happiness there and that left a big, fat smile on my face. It left me with some questions, though….but maybe I’ll get those answers in Butler’s book. All-in-all, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it; it just didn’t WOW me as much as Lock & Key and Random & Rare.

Top quality MC read

Another great read from Cat Porter.

MC life and all that comes with it danger, bloodshed drama, it's all part of the MC life.

Boner is no stranger to any of this from his teen years to his now middle aged life, his life has been no picnic and seeing him going from hookups and finding love is heartwarming.

Jill has been an old lady moved on from her ex been in battles of her own and further down the road finds what she has always dreamt of, her prince

Jill:
My Prince carries knives, guns and brass knuckles and wore dirty dusty leathers and faded black Tshirt and jeans, he tore through the wind on a powerful metal machine not an elegant appointed horse.

Quality writing, descriptive with such a good plot and expressive words, mature characters, mature plot, bringing quality to the reader as Cat Porter does.

"What did you call me?"
"Your like a firefly Jill. You glow bright in my night.

A plot filled with club life, great characters, pasts shared, feelings hidden, explored and revealed a battle to let love happen and it's beautiful when it does.

"You're bright Jill,so fucking bright to me. "I have to live in the bright, or I'm going to break"

A heartwarming and gritty read all wrapped up in iron and bone.

I've captured my firefly at long last and she glows.

I could hardly stand the wait for Book 3, and then the release date arrived and….dang it family, why are you making demands of me on release day! No worries, waiting a couple of days made the reading even better.
Boner, such an interesting dude in the prior books, is finally revealed in full and I adore him. My surprise was Jill, in how much I admired her ability to rise and keep moving forward, for her and little Becca.
Every page of this book drew me in, held me tight, filled me up and drained me. I rarely use my kindle highlighter, but this book was practically glowing with it when I finished. I’ve said it before but it bears repeating – I read Cat Porter’s books slowly because I find myself re-reading sentences and passages that are constructed so beautifully that I have to pump the breaks and take it in again. Such pleasure to read this writer’s art.
8/19/2017 re-read via audio - fantastic! The narrators brought the story to cinematic status!

When I thought this series just couldn't get any better. An age-gap romance between Boner, who is Grace's best friend, and was basically a brother to Dig, and Jill, who is Grace's gestational surrogate. Sound complicated? It will be if you haven't read the first two books prior to this one. Boner was mysterious to me and I was so glad he got his own story, believe me it is shocking and will just tear your heart out. I am so in love with these characters, and if you have ever experienced any of those feelings like you never fit in, or your life is just a mess, Cat's writing shows you that she's with you and understands your pain as she develops these characters. I like the fact that these characters are mature. Grace, Lock, and Boner are in their 40s, and Jill is in her 30s. I wince sometimes coming across books that I have no connection to with the characters. If you are looking for a change in what you have been reading, Cat's books are just for you.

Captivating!

I am so in love with the characters that Cat Porter has brought to life with this series. The men are fierce and feared yet gentle. The women are just as strong and fierce as the men they love. No matter what life throws at them, they come through the other side only stronger.

With Boner and Jill, their story was just as compelling as Lock and Grace’s. Maybe not as emotional but just as engrossing. Boner may be the enforcer for the MC, but Jill proved to be strong enough to pull him through his darkness and helped him fight his demons. She’s seen her share and her uplifting spirit gave him the light he needed.

Their story was beautiful!

We met Jill in the last installment of this series. She is the ex of Grace's best friend’s brother, who also happens to be a member of another MC. Boner is the SOA of the One Eyed Jacks MC. He was also the best friend of Grace's first husband, and brother in her heart. The previous book did a good job of weaving these coincidences together in a beautifully realistic way. This book explores those connections further.

The Good:
1. Though we do get glimpses in the past, it doesn't retread a lot of previous cannon, unlike Random & Rare (Lock & Key, #2) by Cat Porter .

2. Boner is beautiful inside and out. He is protective, sexy, and sensitive. He is an alpha even beta lovers can appreciate.

3. Jill is interestingly quirky. She is charms her way into the lives, and hearts of everyone she meets.

4. The love feels so real. This book features a trope that normally has me running for the hills, but it barely crossed my mind, too engrossed in the story to care.

The Bad:
1. The couple getting together while Jill is might bother certain readers. Normally isn't my jam either, but didn't distract in this instance.

Final Thoughts:
This was just lovely to read. The MC action was on point, but didn't wreck me as bad as the previous books. That was a good thing.

I bow down to the master of angst, of biker poetry, of taking the ugliest parts of people and life and making them so damn beautiful that I could cry. And cry I did...many times while I also clutched at my (non-existent) pearls around my neck and longed for a man like Boner to come into my life.
Cat Porter has stunned and amazed me since I first read Lock & Key and raved about her amazing talent as a storyteller (not only with her MC romances but with her historical romance Wolfsgate) and with this third book in the series, we get Jill and Boner's story and the level of writing has stepped up a notch (if that is even possible).
We get the seemingly unredeemable, the broken and damaged who desperately need to be put back together again, the innocent babes who suffered the sins of their fathers and the unrepentant sinners who will go to their deaths proclaiming their right to hate and hurt.
I really can't say too much about the actual events in this book because the blurb does not tell much in the way of plot and I sure as heck will not spoil it for future readers (I went into this one blind and was glad I did) but suffice it to say if you liked the first two books in the series you will love this one...need to read it and see how Jill and Boner change lives and impact the happiness and future of not only themselves but Lock and Grace as we are given a history lesson about these two lost souls and how they came to be.
There were a few scenes that were my absolute favorites...I will never walk into a Victoria's Secret ever again without blushing, a kitchen counter has never looked so naughty and movie nights at home...well between that and eating caramel topped desserts I have not gotten so hungry (or so turned on) in such fun ways.
Porter has a gift of building her characters in layers and digging deep into the heart and guts of what makes people tick, and especially what woman and men need to survive in the sometimes unforgiving and cruel world of outlaws. Epic MC romance with a lot of complicated twists and wonderful resolution.

I have to admit to being worried about reading this book. I love Lock so much that the other characters didn't compare. Then add in how strong Grace was in both books and I was afraid any other book would pale in comparison.
I was wrong.
Jill is strong and and loyal. She loves hard and fierce and puts everyone above her. But where I was really wrong was thinking no other characters could compare to Lock. Boner. Gah, the boy steals your heart as you read. You hope that he will get his happy as you read about his past.
A huge shock came for me at 49%. I couldn't remember anything happening between Grace and Boner in any of the back story so I wasn't expecting it. It was explained in this book and I can see it happening.
I loved Boner calling Jill Firefly. "You're like a firefly, Jill. You glow bright in my night."

I could keep going with things I loved about this book. There wasn't anything I didn't like.

3.5 stars. This one didn't suck me in as much as the first two books in this series. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I expected to. There was just a disconnect between myself and Jill and Boner, and I'm not sure why. Honestly, I had trouble with his name. Boner. Bone. That may have been a small part of it. The storyline was okay. It was just lacking that something special IMO.

This is Boner (Santiago, even his real name is SUPER HOT) and Jill's story. I loved it. I love everything about Cat Porter's books. This series is unreal. I don't want it to ever end.

Warning! I'm not saying too much about this novel as I feel it's one you need to experience yourself. There is so much happening and many crucial details I don't want you to miss out on, so why not just one click because I'm absolutely sure you won't be disappointed! I most certainly wasn't.

I was asked by a good friend of mine who I love dearly if I would like to review this book as she has read this author's work before and highly recommend it. I agreed without blinking an eyelid as I adore MC / romance novels. And wow, this read was beyond my expectations! What I will say is even though this can be read as standalone, my personal opinion would be to read the first two books in this series before as they give more of a background on some of the secondary characters.

I fell for Jill. She's a thirty-two year old single parent starting out anew in a town where she's been hired to look after her ex's mom who has MS. She also decided to help a friend out as past events made her feel guilty and it was her way of making things right. While helping out Grace and Lock and doing her job; very well at that, we see her slowly fall for Lock's best friend Boner. Boy oh boy... it starts to get hot and steamy between these two but he keeps pushing her away. Until one evening her ex rolls back into town and he's not happy about this at all.

I truly adored Boner. He comes across as hard, cold and a man of few words. Underneath there is a man do be discovered and I enjoyed every minute getting to know him. Not to mention he's so damn hot! He is one of the older bikers and is the Jack's muscle man, the enforcer for the club. He realises that he failed his friend, Grace, and he's going to protect her friend, Jill, come hell or high water. In spite of the fact that strong feelings are forming, he still can't let himself be truly happy since past events are holding him back. Now here is where the fun begins! When he receives new information and someone from the past comes back to haunt him, he refuses to give the one good light in his life Jill, more heartache. And things are about to take a turn for the worse. Can he escape from a disastrous situation he's in? Will to they be able to get their happy ending? You'll only find out by reading it.

The writing style of this author is something else! In my opinion, it takes a very skilful author to write a male POV, especially an alpha MC one. Ms Porter manages to bring Boner's caring and sensitive side alive onto the pages of this book without him coming over as soft which we all no is not part of an MC members character.

After reading this book, I realised that my friend was right. I could not find fault in this read which is edited to perfection and flows faster than fast with moments of true angst. Nevertheless, I also laughed, cried and even shouted a few times in parts. Nooooo... totally untrue! To show you how affected I was, my knuckles turned white while holding tightly onto my kindle. I loved it from the very first page right up to the very last one. Even the secondary characters were beautifully developed. It has to be one of my ten top best books for 2015. For this reason, I award Iron & Bone five fantastic stars. Going to one click the first two books in this series now. Well done to the author; you should be proud.

***Not your every-day review coming up. Needless to say, 5 stars.***

Dear Boner,

Let me start with how much I fell for you, when I first met you in Lock & Key. You were a secondary character but, oh baby, did you outshine everyone! I wanted to know more, so much more about you and I did. In Random & Rare, we get to see you from Dig's POV, we get to know how he felt about you, how much he loved you and cared about you. And nobody can blame him. You're his brother and you're loyal. You're amazing.

But in Iron & Bone? Sure, you pissed me off a bit, at the beginning, less than the first half of the book because, for some odd reason, you decided to play martyr and that you don't deserve all that it's best. I have to say, I strongly disagree. So, when you finally pulled your head out of your amazing derriere, you. Made. Me. Swoon! Ovaries went boom whenever you played with Jill's little girl, I had to fan myself whenever you played with Jill's... well, you know what.

My heart broke for you when you told Jill and us your story, I just wanted to pull you to my bosom and never let go. Because you, dear sir, are my absolute favorite wanderer, my gypsy biker, my Bohemian soul-mate.

I mean I have to agree with Jill on this one,

"My sinful fantasy, my wicked addiction, my secret crush, my delusion."

I also wanted to shake some sense into you toward the ending because WHAT were you thinking?! But, no worries, because the ending... Oh, the ending!

Boner, I love you. That is the absolute, naked truth.

Forever thine,

Thy gypsy & Bohemian soul-mate.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

First off I love MC books and this one is pretty darn good. I really enjoyed Boner A LOT! I was left wanting more though. This is the third book in a series but can be read as a standalone. You will get PLENTY of info on the other characters besides the main ones. I liked that a lot about this book. The story flows very well no major gaps or holes. Some parts I was a bit confused and had to go back a couple times to get a better understanding.

Over all it was a great book. I was entertained and very into the story. Jill and Boner are meant to be together. I couldn't imagine anyone else that could handle Boner and all his deep brooding issues. Jill is a sweetie and super strong.

I will be reading more Cat Porter ASAP. Thanks for letting me read and review. I enjoyed it very very much!

*3.5* I love this author's writing, but somehow it was different in this one. It lacked the intensity of Lock & Key 1. It's still a good MC book. I did like Boner, and I know his poetic side is meant to add layers to his personality but I cannot reconcile it to his enforcer background. I struggled to like Jill. She did have her brave moments and proved she can be someone's old lady, but I never warmed up to her.

I've been waiting for Butler's story, but I'm not so sure I'm going to like his old lady.

Although I loved Boner from other books this book itself was too gritty for my tastes. So therefore the star rating had to reflect how much violence played in this book. It's tough to relax and be entertained when so much sickening violence takes place.
