The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution

Rate this book
God is preparing a spiritual tsunami to sweep the nations and reclaim our culture for Christ, says author Johnny Enlow. He describes seven culture-shaping areas of influence over each society—media, government, education, economy, family, religion, and celebration (arts and entertainment)—that are the keys to taking a nation for the kingdom of God. The purpose of this book is to draw the church’s attention to these areas; help each individual determine his or her specific assignment in this mission; and then to offer insight into the nature of the battles involved in this “spiritual tsunami,” as the author calls it. Many Christians do not grasp that God’s favor for us to succeed is already upon us and is part of His end-time strategy to establish Jesus as Ruler of the Nations before His return. Readers will come to understand that this favor is divinely strategic and corresponds to the place of each person’s ministry assignment. Many have a spiritual poverty vision and poor eschatology, two factors that have robbed us of our blessing and caused us to fail to reclaim cultural influences for Christ. The book is laid out to address these two misunderstandings, with the first several chapters specifically aimed at correcting lack of vision and misguided understanding of the end times. Each chapter that follows provides intensive, detailed study of each “mountain” of influence, how it will be taken and by whom, and what resistance will be encountered by individuals assigned to claim this mountain.

Every Christ Follower should read this book before moving out in a new job, in what they believe God is calling them to do and/or for clarification of their God given destiny as they complete high school, college, or life changes and/or transitions.

It is transformative, enlightening and empowering.

I have no doubt I will refer to it over and over again.

Have you ever wondered why there seems to be little change in the world despite so many people who profess the name of Christ as their savior? Are you hearing everywhere you turn, this thing called the seven mountains of cultural influence, and wondering what it all means? Johnny Enlow has written a book titled, The Seven Mountain Prophecy: Unveiling the Coming Elijah Revolution to answer these questions and many more.

There are very few books that I come across that have so much present day relevance, not only to me and where I am spiritually, but also where the Church is needing to be, in order to become the mature body that God purposed Her to be. If you are unfamiliar with the seven mountains of cultural influence, they include the mountains of celebration, economy, education, family, government, media, and religion. Each of these mountains of influence are key Kingdom territories that were lost and must be reclaimed. This book points out critical strategies for a prophetic revolution that is under way, and must take place for all things to be fulfilled.

What I truly enjoyed about this book, beyond it speaking to issues that I believe God was already dealing with me in, is that it actually revealed those areas that I know I already have a passion for, and gave practical and valuable information as to what I can do in order to impact and influence the changes that are needed in those places. A well equipped person is a most effective person. As Johnny points out, "prayer and action aren't a either or thing; they go hand in hand." I also love that this book truly emphasizes the reality that God wants us to see things bigger than what we may actually be seeing, when it comes to living the life we are living.

I'd say that this is a book for anyone who has a desire to have a great impact on their family, community, and the world, but never knew exactly how to go about it. It's also for any pastor, lay-person, or community leader who wants to influence real change. This is not the kind of book you just glance over. You'll want to fully digest it, reflect on it, and impliment it. See this book as the kindling to a new fire for your life.

The seven mountain prophecy is important, and it's great to have a book that explores it in depth.

However, much of the book seems a little contrived, or book for book's sake. The "action strategies" in each chapter, for instance, really aren't developed to any depth to be actionable. It's just some general stuff.

This is a great book to get you thinking about the seven mountain prophecy, but it could be more succinct and still achieve its primary objective.

I thought this book was very good. I would have rated it higher if there would have been less conjecture and opinion in it. I would recommend this book to read because it has opened my eyes to see certain aspects of life differently. Worth your time!

Extremely accurate for what we are seeing prophetically happening in our nation and world. It is also eye-opening on a personal level, to help one discover what mountain(s) you are called to influence. HIGHLY recommend!

It is a pretty good book on uniting Christianity with various domains that they were not forgiving loving and accepting before.
however it does have some strong opinions that are not aligned with Jesus's commands, even though they may be common among modern Christian groups. Worth archiving.

While I agreed with Enlow's overall thesis and found the first part of the book very engaging and exciting, any good in this book is completely overshadowed by the blatant and hateful sexism, homophobia, et al. currently infecting evangelical christian culture. If you still want to read this book, you will find some very good parts scattered throughout every chapter (except the one on politics—just skip that one). Unfortunately, you'll also find a lot of incredibly hateful statements masquerading as "Christianity" that made me way too embarrassed to even bring the book up with anyone else for fear they'd think I was one of "those" christians.

The author presents an interesting concept around the seven areas of influence, or the Seven Mountains. While not directly from scripture, he does a thorough job at using scripture throughout the book to justify his points. I would like to come back to this book at some point and do a more thorough analysis of what he is saying and comparing it to the scripture passages.

Probably the most comprehensive revival strategy and prayer manual I've ever read. I feel like my mission and purpose has been set into high definition and I understand how my small part fits into God's larger plan for humanity, for more glory, and for the good of His children. There are some theological concepts in here that are fairly new to me (and likely most Christians) but none of it was heretical or worth throwing the baby out with the bath water. This is a book for Christians that want to see Heaven on Earth and defeat the enemy's schemes!
