Lebanese writer Yara Gharios started making up stories well before she knew how to read or write. In her pre-laptop days, she would carry her writing notebooks everywhere because she was too attached to them.
As an undergrad, she majored in Translation and English Literature, and then she got her MA in Writing for Performance and Publication from the University of Leeds. Her debut publication was released traditionally, but she has been self-publishing since Masked SheWolf became a hit on Wattpad.
Someday, she wants to travel the world. She loves languages almost as much as she loves stories. Since 2021, she has been on a journey to unite her two passions, to grow as an author and reach a wider audience.
This book has such a creative storyline, a she-wolf that has spent her entire life as a guy, she doesn't even shave her underarms!
Michael/ Dylan is most definitely a girl, besides what her cover is. She's spent everyday hiding her true gender because she is a she-wolf, she-wolves are hunted down for mating since their pups become very strong and powerful. Its a bit cruel though- having to spend your entire life pretending to be the opposite gender that it comes to the point that your own dad calls you 'son' instead of 'daughter' as if he believes the lie.
I love the way this book is written. At the end of nearly every chapter there is a cliffhanger that leaves you begging for more, however i didn't feel that the book necessarily ended. But that could be because there isn't a typical happy ending.
This was really interesting, and I liked the main character a lot. The author really makes you see how disjointed you would feel always having to hide who you are until you're not really sure who that is anymore. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it's jarring switching between so many perspectives - sticking with two or three would have been preferable. There is a cliffhanger ending, though. Be warned!
I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this. For a teenager Dylan was quite mature and their family dynamic was wonderful to see. It didn’t have a lot of the absurd traditional werewolf crap. Dylan is the only female werewolf born in generations. She can’t disguise the fact she is a werewolf to other werewolves, so she disguises herself as a boy. The mature way she handles this is actually impressive, and the support she receives off her family is awesome, her brothers especially. Sure she has a few childish moments and a few slip ups but overall good character development. However it’s a bit slowish. The silver moon werewolf pack moves back to their town and Dylan has to be extra careful. A few people learn her secret. Concurrently the alpha of the silver moon wolf pack Logan, who is young and father was killed, is looking for the connection between his fathers death and what he was working on.
Yara, thank you very much for an extremely good shifter story that breaks the mold. It has a slow pace but that is needed so that the reader gets to know the characters better especially the MFC, Michael/Dylan. The secret being kept but slowly leaking out plus the mystery surrounding the late father of the MMC, Logan adds the right amount of interest that keeps the story flowing. Can't wait to read the next 2 books. Great job Yara , look forward to checking out your other books once I am done with this Series.
This book was enthralling and portrayed the perfect female lead and male lead. I loved how "Dylan" expressed herself and acted. The theme of the book was portrayed perfectly. I loved the storyline however I may be bias I love a strong and unique female lead when it comes to werewolf romance. This book left questions and invoked all kinds of emotions. This is truly one of my favorite books and I can't count how many times ive read It.
This book was great, although the characters pissed me off. I felt for Mickey because her family chooses not even see how they affect her. She is aware of what is asked of her throughout the book, and then things start to unravel, which makes for a wild ride.
This book is awesome. I read it on Radish and was told the other books were on here and some other sites. I looked them up and purchased ebooks on this Platform because I wanted to read the rest of the story. Wonder how it would be as a movie?
Forgot my kindle so read this on my phone the other day since I had downloaded it forever ago reminiscing the wattpad days. The wattpad version was better and more complete than this which is just a bunch of filler chapters with no real conflict since the books ends where I remembered the wattpad version getting interesting. I remember I read this multiple times as a kid for the love story and this book was missing it entirely and it felt like it was gaslighting me. I know there’s a second book but I will not be paying for it after this mess
Not a bad story...some pretty glaring spelling and grammar issues, which can be a problem with self publishing, but for the most part I was able to overlook them because I became so drawn into the story.
