The last two volumes were very slow and lacked action. This volume improved the story a lot. We get some background story of Kasane's manager Kingo Habuta and his relationship with her mother. Then we get to know the real identity of the new girl who was introduced in the last two chapters. Nina Tanzawa is no more and her story ended. Kasane has turned from Nina to Saki!

Overall this was a great volume.

This volume contains ch 54 to 62

A very slow volume but had a lot of character development. Characters that we reviled in the previous volumes are shown to have a soft side to them. Habuto and Izana's backstory looks intriguing.
I will really have to read the prequel I guess.

Amagasaki's backstory and his motivation to be the guy he is, and his character arc are really well written. It was smooth. And also Nogiku and Amagasaki's story in this book was more fun than Kasane's Saki story. I guess Saki will be explored more in the next volume.

Now, we still are not sure how exactly Nogiku is going to take revenge and in fact her actions in this volume may or may not be fully sensible. Maybe more will be explained in the next volume and so I give it a benefit of doubt.
I want to know whether it will be a story of revenge or a story of forgiveness.

Note : ★★★★.

This volume sets up the new status quo with aplomb. We're in full psychological mindgames territory now, with lines between characters of what they know, what they know of what the other person knows, and how they're going to use and exploit each other. We've been jokingly thinking of the series as "mean girl Death Note", but adding in toxic incest yuri to the formula definitely fits that moniker.

This volume shows a huge progression for the story. The past, present and future blend together as the story goes along, and everything is getting more layers of depth. With the introduction of Saki and more questions raised about the past and Izana, the narrative seems to be building into something amazing.

I'm just jotting down my thoughts really quickly. I'm at the halfway point with the series, and the UTTER INSANITY that is going on, but just wanting our main girls to make it out ok... The tension the author creates is crazy lol

Although a slower pace than the previous volumes, Kasane seven is still a thrill to read and is most definitely building up to something phenomenal and probably very upsetting. This volume finally goes into Habuta and his connection to Kasane’s mother, which was not as surprising as I expected. Nogiku and Kasane are getting friendly but of course everything isn’t as it seems as Nogiku has her own plans. It very interesting to see an insight into Amagasaki’s thoughts and past as up until now, I never really paid much mind to him. This marks the half way point of the series and I’m very much enjoying it! As far as psychological horrors, it’s one of my favourites and the way the characters are described and developed is just brilliant. The art perfectly matches the plot with haunting images that have a very sinister undertone while being beautiful.
