About the author

Seligman is the Zellerbach Family Professor of Psychology in the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Psychology. He was previously the Director of the Clinical Training Program in the department. Seligman was elected President of the American Psychological Association by the widest margin in its history and served in that capacity during the 1998 term.[4] He is the founding editor-in-chief of Prevention and Treatment Magazine (the APA electronic journal), and is on the board of advisers of Parents.

Seligman has written about positive psychology topics such as The Optimistic Child, Child's Play, Learned Optimism, Authentic Happiness," and in 2011, "Flourish."

This is the WORST textbook I have ever read. Unorganized and full of GRAMMAR ERRORS WTF, don't these people pay proofreaders?

This was a great textbook that we had in class. It was so good in fact that I found myself reading it outside of class.

PSYCHOPATOLOGIA, czyli to, co nazywamy "nienormalnością" - zebrane w jedną książkę. Połączenie biologicznego i psychologicznego aspektu i znaczenie jednego i drugiego czynnika w diagnozie i leczeniu. Brzmi poważnie i jest to literatura naukowa, pisana raczej dla specjalistów, ale ja nie mogę się od niej oderwać. Zawsze interesowały mnie te rejony wiedzy i mogę powiedzieć, że wiele pozycji w tych tematach za mną, ale tak dobrej książki jeszcze w rękach nie miałam.
Mamy tu do czynienia z encyklopedią nienormalności. Autorzy Martin E.P. Seligman, Elaine F. Walker i David L. Rosenhan - specjaliści w swych dziedzinach, uznane postaci nauki, napisali książkę, która jednocześnie wspomaga i prowadzi fachowców jak i żywo interesuje laików. Nie mogę nic tej pozycji zarzucić, może poza tym, że jest za ciężka... ale to chyba słaba krytyka.
PSYCHOPATOLOGIA pokazuje na konkretnych przypadkach, konkretne schorzenia. Mamy tu dostęp do dogłębnych analiz poszczególnych przypadków i jest to ogromnie ciekawe (przynajmniej dla mnie). Jest również przerażające, bo chorób psychicznych mamy ilość ogromną, a co choroba, to inna historia.
To, na co warto zwrócić szczególną uwagę, to sposób w jaki autorzy prowadzą czytelników przez dane zagadnienie - czyli jasno i przejrzyście. Rozdziały są mądrze podzielone i choć to naukowa rzecz, to nie przyćmiewa niezrozumiałym nazewnictwem. Oczywiście warto interesować się tą dziedziną medycyny. Myślę, że wcześniejsze pozycje, które przeczytałam ułatwiły mi odbiór tej, ale jeśli ktoś chce mieć kompendium wiedzy i racjonalne ujęcie tematów, połączenie biologi i psychiką, to uważam, że nie powinien się zastanawiać, tylko łapać PSYCHOPATOLOGIĘ, póki jest dostępna.
Ja jestem dopiero na początku tej książki, podczytuję ją systematycznie i jest wiele rzeczy do przemyśleń, chce też sporo z niej wynieść, dlatego się nie śpieszę - co doradzam każdemu. Cóż, mogłabym tak jeszcze długo chwalić PSYCHOPATOLOGIĘ, ale myślę, że to wystarczy. Polecam!
