Empty Bodies #4

Open Roads

Rate this book
After narrowly avoiding tragedy, Will and the others hit the road and head east, looking to get Gabriel and Dylan home, while also hoping to seek refuge in the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. But the open roads present a challenge, as the group is low on gas, and has no place to call home. As stress levels rise among them, a divide begins to form. Will wants answers about what happened to him, while Gabriel only wants to get home as fast as possible.

And when they encounter a new band of survivors, that divide only widens.

Okay, this is the 4th of 6th ... only two more books to go in this series. This one felt a little bland to me so I'm going to take a break and read something from one of my favorite authors ... then I'll be back to this to finish the series. Sometimes it is definitely a burden to be the sort of person who has to finish any series that I start. Don't get me wrong ... theses aren't horrible books ... but, I know if I wasn't such a fan of zombie stories, I wouldn't be able to stick with it.

No surprise by either of the endings here. I don't think it's going to work out well for anyone involved. They said it. Bad shit keeps happening to them when they split up. So, not the best appraisal due to stupidity as a plot device.

No ooo, it can't be. Shocking read.

Zach Bohannon has made me both live and hate his work with this episode of Empty Bodies. I am now going to cry for a little while and then read book 5.

I have the box set of this series and this installment continues the battle against the Empties.

A good cast of characters fits well into this fast-paced read. Despite a few grammatical and other errors, it's well-written with plenty of action and an intriguing twist.

Worth reading.

Evil and empties equals mega danger

Open Roads met my every expectation with as much horror, fear, loss and grief as it's possible. And the ending... Oh My Goodness! This is the apocalypse that beats them all. Open Roads, and the entire series so far is an incredible read.

On to book 5. I do like this series even though have found incorrect words used. For instance, they made the welcome center "inhabitable" - it was already inhabitable, they made it habitable!

Excitement overload...

This series keeps getting better & better! I hate that the team has split, but I'm sure they will be back together at the end. They also gained new people and lost some of those people.
Will and Holly will be off to Virginia to find the priest after they lend aid to poor Dylan who has been bit.
Gregory is still on his way to D.C. desperately hoping his wife and child are still alive. Think they've hit a snag tho after staying at the welcome center for the night. Things are gonna get nasty!
The author has done a terrific job with his storyline and his characters. Makes me want to read more...

As the fourth installment of Bohannon's Empty Bodies series, Bohannon's Open Roads takes the series to a new level that will impress all readers who've already been hooked on the series. Delving further into the histories of established characters while upping the ante and the tension, Open Roads is impossible to put down. True to the series, it delivers twists and action within an incredibly paced parceling out of horror, and shows Bohannon to be a master storyteller.

Love itt

Really enjoying the story. Can't wait to see what happens next. The still human component always seems to be the biggest obstacle

The editing was very bad.. The story line has stalled. Zach should have more than one person proof read before releasing books.

This zombie series has me hooked. Just when you think the action cannot become more intense, the sh*t hits the fan! Also, you begin to feel for the characters. You begin to think of them as family. I did not want the group to split up but it was inevitable because their goals changed and the needs of certain members could no longer be met. Open Roads proved that nowhere is safe in this Zombie Apocalypse. Empty Bodies proves that there are monsters within us all. I cannot express how much I enjoy this series. I only hope more character diversity is explored, so that we can see how more groups are affected in this new post-apocalyptic Earth. Great job Zach! I am a Brian Keene and Iain Rob Wright fan, but now I can proudly add you to my favorite list of authors.
