Fans von Kill Bill, der Bourne-Trilogie und 24 werden ihre helle Freude an dieser wilden Achterbahnfahrt aus Action, Intrige und Spannung haben.
This is book two in the Jet Series. Jet is the code name of Mossad’s greatest female operative. At the end of book one Jet discovers her daughter was not dead but living with an adopted family in the USA.
Jet flies to the States to obtain her daughter and just after stealing her she is apprehended by the CIA. They insist she assassinate the “White Devil”, a former CIA agent and also obtain the 50 million dollars’ worth of diamonds he stole from them. Apparently he is running a large criminal organization in Thailand. The story then moves to the streets and jungles of Thailand and Myanmar; she finds the story is not what it seems to be.
The book is well written and the plot twists and turns keeping the reader alert as does the fast pace action. The suspense builds throughout the story. As with book one it helps, at times, to suspend belief and just enjoy the story. Looking forward to book three in the series.
Braden Wright does a good job narrating the story. Wright is an actor, voice over artist and audiobook narrator.
How bad of an idea is it to get between a mother and her child? When the mother's Jet, an extremely bad idea "of elephantine proportions"!
She didn't lose her daughter those years ago, and with a clue from her dying love David, Jet is renewed with hope and off on her Hannah's trail. Until those pesky CIA agents just have to pick the absolute wrong time to kidnap Hannah and force Jet to track down a rogue operative deep in the jungles of Burma. If that's what it takes to get her daughter back, Jet will focus all her brilliantly terrifying skills on that one goal, but rest assured she's going to be supremely ticked when she gets back.
Jet's mothering instincts and caring nature are a new side that's explored in this book, with her repossession of her daughter and, perhaps because of that, her ire at the abuse and prostitution rampant throughout the seedy Burmese streets. But that nature very nicely spurs on her drive for success in her mission. But are her effects misdirected? Who's really pulling the strings around here? Who's even telling the truth? If there's one thing Jet's learning throughout her spec-ops career, it's that you can't always trust who you work for.
A legitimate job turns into a mind-blowing conspiracy and a race to stay 2 steps ahead of the guys whose job is literally to secretly watch the world. But if there's anyone who can survive, it's Jet.
As this one started out I had hope that Jet would find what she yearned for, her daughter. Things started out pretty straight forward and easy for Jet, but you knew it wouldn't stay that way. I hated how just as Jet found Hannah things went crazy and Jet ended up being blackmailed, with Hannah held over her head.
Once again Jet proved what a superior person in her field she is as she didn't trust what was told her when red flags came up and did things her way. It was interesting the things that Jet found out and how she reacted, making hard decisions, but the right thing. I loved how it seemed Jet found a kindred spirit, even better was when she decided to check out the spark between them. I should have known things wouldn't end well there. I really hope that what Jet came across was not what it seemed, that it covered up something more. I'll have to read the next one to find out for sure.
Total action! In this second of the series novel, Jet/Maya is blackmailed into going to Thailand to take out Dan, an ex-CIA agent, who has reportedly stolen some diamonds and left his CIA post. Turns out, he had discovered some very interesting, very disturbing facts about some high-up CIA and DOD leaders. The child sex trafficking and huge drug trade play a big part of this latest Jet ‘adventure’; the jungle gets very bloody, no one can be trusted. I won’t say much about the story because I hate spoilers, but you surely will not be disappointed with this book.
Jet was the first Blake book I'd read. I loved it, so of course I had to read Jet 2. I was not disappointed. Now I get to read the third book in the series.
This series should come with a warning, or a support group, you'll be hooked.
Terrifying to a young Mother, recently only reacquainted with her few month old daughter she had been told, died in childbirth. She only learned upon the death's throes of the baby's father that their daughter ad not died. Terrifying is when a rogue group of the CIA kidnaps her daughter and threatens her with One More Mission before she can have her daughter back. What's the kick? She's ex-massoud, not CIA. The CIA purportedly portraying themselves as the good guys asking her to take out a rogue in the jungles of Myanmar. Is that twist enough for you?
Jet, former Mossad operative. An assassin. With no peers. Her daughter has been kidnapped. How will she get her back? A deal with the devil. The CIA apparently deals in narcotics and other unsavory deals. A few dirty officials who hold positions of power can tarnish an entire organization. The lure of easy money. They didn't bargain on Jets resourcefulness. Her skill set. Coupled with they fact they betrayed her. They had no intention of returning her daughter as well as letting Jet walk away. Payback is a bitch. Extremely fast paced action thriller. Enjoyed immensely!!
Like the series so far.explosive action most of the way. If you like the Bourne series you would like this book. Really nice to read about a female assassin. The writer did his research as the action scenes in the book, I almost felt like I was watching a movie. The heroine NET was simply amazing. If you want an action packed thriller, then this is the book for you. By the way can be read as a stand alone but better to read the first book. I can hardly wait to read the third book in the series.
I enjoyed this book very much. I enjoyed the character of jet. What I did not like was that this book ended the same as the last. With the protagonist partner/love interest being killed. I hope this is not a trend in the entire series. No person is an island not even our hero. She need somebody to play off of and hopefully that person will be a partner in the next book. I will read another book in the series if the ending situation is the same I unfortunately will not continue the series, but you may like it so give it a try.
Jet, twenty-eight-year-old, former Mossad operative battles to protect her daughter. From the heartland of Nebraska to Washington D.C. she fights.
Powerful continued action. From scene to scene, the jungle to the streets, Jet fights.
I love the plot, the characters, and the action. There's not much downtime between scenes so buckle up and hold on. Jet lives to rescue. She is a woman full of love, and that motivates her like nothing else.
Jet's love for children is the icing on the cake. Great read. I loved it.
JET keeps on giving in terms of excitment and horror at how often she gets double/triple crossed and how many men she knows/works with seems to expire. I am pretty sure that whilst some jungles are stunning I'm not gonna find that in the Golden Triangle so that's off the bucket list now and the seedier side of Bangkok is definately a no-no but RB sure brings those things to life in an almost feel it/touching it way.........a very engrossing read and with more JET to come something to be enjoyed further!
The story-line is filled with intrigue, mystery, death and betrayal. We read about diamonds, millions of dollars and drugs. Mixed in there are child sexual predators. Then, you turn the page and meet the female mercenary that produces mayhem. Her name is JET!. I was absorbed by the book and felt anxious at the end because something bad was bound to happen to ruin her happiness. I’m glad I read the book.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat! I couldn't put it down! I really don't know if Jet Is a good person, or a bad person! She's a contract killer, but you find yourself rooting for her! The interrelationships she experiences are what you would expect from a normal, regular person. She is anything but a regular person! She's a contract killer for hire! I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
This was a dramatic story that pulled on me from several places. The twists and turns as Jet found Hannah only to lose her and then be pressured into service to get her back were pounding, blood pressure rising things! Blake has a “smooth” style of writing to me. He glides from page to page even during gun fights! I’ve enjoyed Jet and her prequels... Looking forward to her next venture.
The book is full of intriguing action scenes and dialogues. The story is superb although I'm still not sure I'm 100% a fan of Jet. As in the previous book, she's proven to be selfish given the way she steals and destroys properties; subjects others who might be innocent to danger (e.g when she lit up the CIA agent's house while his wife was upstairs) ; and the way she brushed off Hannah's adoptive parents. Kind of self-centered, but it's a good story altogether.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
a top notch sequel to Jet. Was not sure how the author could succeed in maintaing the action of book one....well, He surpassed the action and had me on the edge of my seat. With locales as varied as Thailand, the jungles of Burma, Nebraska and Wash DC, the action was non stop and the villains perfectly villanous. Could not read it fast enough. THe main character is incredible and my new favorite action hero/ former mossad spy. Am on book three now.
I am afraid I have to take an early exit to the series. Kidnapping a child from the adoptive parents who have raised her for two years is tragic. Jet can go on kicking ass all over the world, but the parents who loved the kid will be living in hell every moment from not on. And that happens at the very beginning of the book. Adios.
A great story that got me into the book early and never let go - the way I like it. Even though I am reading these Blake books out of sequence they are gripping stories that make me want more. Jet sent to kill Matt ends up befriending him, and you can tell this will lead to a possible relationship. The ending is dramatic but like I said I have read Legacy & Justice already.5
I wasn't sure about the inclusion of Jet's daughter - in fact after starting Jet #3 I'm still not enamored by it - but that's the only minor beef I have. A fun, action filled, and well written 2nd volume. A nice advancement of the overall story, and lots of intriguing plots to keep me satisfied. I'm planning on reading a bunch of these stories!
This is a good read but not a great one I thought the first book was better . I found this one though entertaining a bit predictable and in some parts highly unbelievable which after the first book I found a bit disappointing especially after the first excellent book in this series.
Another very good addition to the Jet series. I know it’s only book two but (as I had hoped) the action in book two picked up nicely. I’m definitely going to follow the saga that is Jet!!! If you read book one as I did & think it’s a little slow keep trudging through they get faster paced as the story unfolds!!! Don’t hesitate on this one. You won’t regret it.
A fast paced sequel, set mostly in Asia, packed to the gills with action and intrigue. Jet carries the day, but her war against bad guys, who aren't always who we think they are, has increasingly high personal costs.
'Betrayal' was an action packed story. The story line was well written and well thought out. I love Jet and her way of dealing with what aver comes her way. She's a total bad-ass. I can't wait to read more.
Every bit as good as the first one of the series as the female Rambo cuts a swath through the bad guys. Rather surprising ending but perhaps the next step will clarify.
Didn't like this one as much as the first but still overall a good story. I really like RB writing style. Far superior to many I have read in this genre. Don't know how far I will go in the Jet series but on to book 3
This novel is very entertaining. Much of it takes place in Thailand describing sex trade and drug trade. It pits Jet against some rogue CIA agents. Maya has become Jet, a very dangerous woman.
Russell Blake did it again. This is the second “Jet” novel I’ve read from the author and was once again kept intrigued as to what would happen next. The story line was rich with suspense and continued action.
Another exceptional entertaining installment of the series with the escapades of the lethal and capable female agent who seems to outwit all comers and had nothing but bad luck with any eligible companions. eager for the next installment.
Everything about this story is wonderful. The main character Is powerful, intense, charismatic. All the characters are very well presented to establish their roles in society. Very enjoyable read!
