The Ex

“Colin? I feel so awful lying to you so I have to tell you what happened..today,” Frankie blurted out, nervously cracking her knuckles as she stared at her boyfriend from one side of the living room.
Colin’s bright blue eyes danced. “What is it, sweetheart?”
“I…I bumped into my ex-husband in the elevator today.”
“And?”
Frankie exhaled. “And we had sex. In the elevator.”
There was an interminable silence before Colin smiled. “We’ll work through this, honey. Don’t worry.”
“Work through this?” she spluttered in disbelief. “How? How can we, when all I want is for him to do it again? And again, and again, and again, and…” She trailed off, sighing.
It pained her to see Colin’s hurt expression, but then again, it pained her to know that Konstantin had made her climax in that elevator more times than Colin had in their whole relationship…

Kimber Lee comes from South Africa and commutes to class on an
elephant named Bill (not really). She started writing horror stories
as a child and now, she writes erotica as an adult. Her favorite kind
of hero is exotic and probably has a heavy accent. He’s weak when it
comes to the heroine and a total badass outside the bedroom.
If Kimber Lee could find a surgical way to be permanently joined to
her laptop, she would. But until then, she’ll continue to be a night
owl and write until dawn. When forced into daylight, she enjoys
reading scary stories, Indian food and EDM. She dreams of going to
Greece or Sweden because… accents. Oh, and the scenery.

Same comment as in The Handyman and The Dilf.
I wish she worked on extending the books, making it a full fledged novel because the plot is A-one like the other two books.

Francesca and Konstantin both had too much pride in their bodies so they just let things happened and ruined their marriage. After 2 years of being divorced, they met again. And Konstantin, being aggressive as ever, made Francesca cheat on her current boyfriend. It was quite frustrating how Francesca accused Konstantin of infidelity and doesn't discussed how and what he did to be called as a cheater. And then, confused Konstantin just let it passed instead they always end up having a hot sex. Sex was great. It blew the readers mind off as well. It's just that Francesca and Konstantin lacked the talking which I believed all they needed to do to understand why their marriage was ruined.

It was a nice read. Recommend this to those who want to read a short but really erotic book.

Frankie and Kon are super toxic but Idk I just like how its short, steamy, sweet and fucked up !
Probably gonna read this another million times, every once in a while, whenever the actual book I'm reading doesnt give me the feels.

Where do I even start with this book? This is definitely a book that you'll like if you like the tropes and plot behind it but if not, maybe don't pick it up. It's a short read about Francesca and how she reunites with her ex-husband, Konstantin. There is some sort of cheating that happens in this book, alongside some miscommunication and dub-con. There's a lot of angst happening and a lot of moments where the characters do frustrate you but I have to say that I just like my books like that. Don't ask me why, because I don't even know but I definitely recommend this book as it's a quick nice read.

You can read it here.

When I first saw the short story "The Ex", the first thing that came to my mind was, "I hope this isn't another cliche book where the main character sees her ex and jumps into their arms." However, I was pleasantly surprised when just in the first chapter the author had skipped the cliche scene of the main character catching her husband in the act. The fact that the author doesn't reveal what caused Francesca, the main character to file a divorce until the end, made me wanting to reading more and more.

Also, I love how the author made sure that Francesca wasn't completely dependent. She was smart enough to have a small library to provide her money even though her ex husband was very rich.

Although this book is fictional, I enjoyed that it still had a realistic touch to it. Such as the fact that the divorce between Francesca and Konstantin, the husband wasn't peaches and rainbows. Their divorce was full of bickering and low blows. In addition, although some may argue that Francesca shouldn't take so long to get over the divorce, I think it made the book seem more authentic. I feel this way because usually books make the main character move on too quickly.

Lastly, this book is only fourteen chapters. Therefore there is no time for long unnecessary filler chapters. All the chapters had meaning and contributed to thickening the plot.
