The last thing hot new model Axelle expects to find at a photo shoot is a top stylist dead on set. But as a high-heeled, runway-ready secret sleuth, she’s just the girl to solve the mystery of who poisoned Elisabetta.
With gorgeous Sebastian by her side, Axelle plunges into a world of dirty rumours, sparkling jewels and high-speed chases to track a ruthless killer. Could this be Axelle’s most dangerous investigation yet?
I'm Carina Axelsson, author of the MODEL UNDER COVER and ROYAL REBEL book series.
Model Under Cover stars sixteen-year-old fashion detective, Axelle Anderson, and combines three of my favourite things: mystery, fashion and, of course, romance!
My love of detective fiction inspired me to write the series, and my experience as a former fashion model has inspired many of the scenes in the book. So if you're looking for a pacey read with adventure, romance and a young, sassy detective, then give MODEL UNDER COVER a go - no magnifying glass or high heels required!
My new series, Royal Rebel, is for slightly younger readers. Follow the adventures of Her Royal Highness Lilian Athena Isabella Marie the Crown Princess of Waldenburg ( the world's only QUEENDOM!) and find out all about Lily's HUGE secret - something the palace would definitely NOT approve of...if you like girl-power, palaces and ponies, queendoms and comedy, dogs, secret turrets - plus a big sparkly dollop of DIY fashion - then get your tiara on and crack open Royal Rebel!

I'm so sad that this is the last book of this series, but agh it was so so good, especially this one ♡
The case was set in Milan, and Axelle witnesses a death right in front of her while she was doing a fitting for Amare, more specifically for Elisabetta, from the scene of the crime she found three tarot cards; the magician, death and the chariot
I love the fact there were tarot cards incorporated into the case and they actually are a big part of the mystery :)
Spoliers!!
It was Francesca who poisoned Elisabetta...by using a Monkshood leaf (they're poisonous) sprinkled on a bruchetta (yeah I know) that was given out in a party that Ugo had started last minute for Elizabetta. She didn't die till the next day that Axelle saw her (it really traumatised Axelle bless her)
All this, for some gems...because Francesca believes that she deserved the gems left behind from her Uncle because she's an 'heir' (she related to his uncle that's all' so she did all this because she was also jealous of how close Elizabetta and her Uncle (Falco) was INSANE, she's insane!
When she got caught in the act trying to find the gems (thanks to Axelle) in the graveyard and was eventually caught she acted so crazy like she needs to calm down, she literally nearly killed Axelle and with no remorse because she just 'taking back what's mine' be so for real!
Anyways, this case was definitely satisfying to read, I had a slight feeling it was Francesca that did it since she had the biggest motive to do so, nevertheless I was still gagged at the ending!
Axelle and Sebastian's relationship and general dynamic has a special place in my heart, they're so cute together it's criminal! (did you see what I did there?) ♡
Also, I LOVED the ending like I'm obsessed with Sebastian giving a gift to Axelle that fit her perfectly. It was a charm bracelet with a key, heart, a small Duomo and a gold disc with their FREAKING INITIALS ENGRAVED RAHHHH!!! ♡ (I love them)
He even said "I figure can add charms to it every time we solve a new case"...WE. They're PERFECT for each other!!!
I'm so glad I read this series! I love love LOVED it so much!! Definitely more suited for teenagers but regardless it was still really enjoyable and a super fun read! ♡ xoxo

This wonderful book is the fourth and last in the series, such a pity... It starts off with Axelle at a shoot in Milan and as she is behind the curtains getting ready, a murder happens in the same room. Between a series of investigations on the photographer, the designer and the hairdresser, she will manage to unmask the culprit. Will she manage to do so before her mother (who strictly told her about no more detective roles) lands in Milan?
Predictably twee-cute, with positive messages sprinkled throughout. I still don't love the Sherlock way of solving mysteries (that is, Axelle keeping all relevant information to herself until the end, at which point she explains how every single one of her improbable hunches proved to be correct), but on the plus side it does make the reveal more of a surprise.
But: if I ever find myself in a relationship in which all the conflict is 'he is being nice to a hot girl how dare he obviously I must immediately throw myself at somebody else to make him jealous'—please drag me to therapy, stat.
I love the storyline, absolutely amazing! I love how Carina doesn’t just say who killed Elizabetta, but explores the different characters, each of their possible motives and the build up to Axelle solving the case. 100% recommend.
i really liked this book as it showed a different point of view of everything that is hidden behind all the cameras and the whole modelling industry but i did not really like that the story strayed from the main plot quite frequently which lead to a bit of confusion but apart from this its a great book.
