I hope John Grey and Angel get together. Is that what was supposed to be happening? Oh please, I beg you Mr. Gaimam, in your divine mercy please spare thee potential gay characters a happy ending, lol. It was only like 3 pages and featured only intense eye contact and musings of freedom, but it was still the hottest romance i seen all year in our shitty years of 2020.
Jest aside, I'm completely serious. The issue surrounding this paradigm was pretty good too. I think I am finally okay with Magneto being who he is in this. It's like they're pitting two ideas of belief at each other. I usually see Xavier as MLK and Magneto as Malcom X, and I suppose you can kinda fit that in here. It still seems a bit hypocritical of the Inquisitier to be that bigoted, but once I saw Javier praying in this issue it became clear to me what was being conveyed. It's basically a "pray for the sinners" vs the "pray the gay away" setup.
This is still one of the most beautiful comics I've read. When I think of beautiful and elegant experiences, this is one of the first things to pop to mind. Bravo to all involved!
One of the wilder books to spring from the depths of Gaiman's bottomless imagination.
The Marvel Universe has been written over England of the early 1600s.
