Fear Is Louder Than Words by Linda S Glaz is an amazing nail biting Christian thriller. I was literally on the edge of my seat for the whole read. It was exciting. It was heart breaking. It was Horrifying. It was faithful.
Some books are really easy to review. This book was really hard as it was all so fabulous. It is difficult to know where to start. The whole book is packed full of good, sound godly advice juxtaposed with breath taking action. It is an unusual combination but it works really well and I want more, more, more by Linda Glaz.
There are many themes covered within the novel but running throughout is that of God and of faith. Rochelle had a strong faith but it wasn't always that way. She used to be so angry, as she says she was "wearing anger like a fashion statement. And my hate ate me from the inside out." Rochelle realised that there had to be more to life than anger. She realised that anger made her a prisoner and she needed to deal with it. She was angry at people. She was angry at circumstances. She was angry at God. Rochelle needed to repent of her anger and she needed to learn to forgive. Only then could she be free to be the person God intended her to be.
Anger is a thread running throughout the novel. It has the power to destroy lives. It ruins futures. It kills relationships. The source of the anger needs to be identified and the fire that motivates evil put out.
There is discussion within the book about what it takes to be a Christian. Some people think that they have to 'be good', but being good doesn't mean that you are a Christian and it doesn't mean bad things won't happen to you. To be a Christian is to surrender your life and your heart to Jesus. To always be motivated by Him and to live for Him.
Linda Glaz highlights some very sensitive issues and deals with them in a caring way. There is a case of PTSD following Desert Storm within the novel. War changes people. It damages them. They do things to escape what they have seen. There can be a fall-out that affects their families and others. This is portrayed well and sensitively in the novel and it is heart breaking to see the generations destroyed by war.
The other very sensitive topic is that of eugenics. Prospective parents all want strong healthy babies but there can be a high price to pay for some.

She does not know the identity of her attacker but the reader knows his name and his intentions, just not why he targets her. I must admit I was jumping at times as I was so caught up in the action.

However as fear threatens to take over her life, she needs to find some-one who will help her feel safe. She recognises her need as she says "I don't doubt God is always with me. It's important on occasion to have a person in the flesh to make you feel safe." I could certainly empathise with this.
I was completely enthralled by Fear Is Louder Than Words and I just could not put it down. Reading was the last thing I did at night and the first thing I did in the morning. There are so many amazing godly truths in the novel as well as a total roller coaster of a read. I cannot urge you enough to pick up a copy of this book, and then plan on doing nothing for several hours. Absolutely excellent.

This story had more twists, back trails, and turns than a politician's promises. At times, it was like reading two separate stories, but they came together in a rush at the end. Suspense, romance, and a solid underlying thread of faith and forgiveness gets it five full stars.
Rochelle Cassidy has a radio talk show and she's been known to tick off a fan or two. But when one fan becomes obsessed, she finds herself in very real danger. Ed McGrath is a hockey player. He's used to being the sports hero, but when he foils an attempted rape, he finds himself in a more personal hero role. And he likes it. At least, he likes the lady who makes him feel that way. But Rochelle's life is a little more complicated than Ed is used to. And half the time he's not sure she even wants him around. Will his lack of faith and her need to reconcile the past keep them apart? Or bring them together?

Rochelle is a Christian radio announcer who’d no-nonsense views earn the contempt of many listeners in the liberal Motor City, some more than others. When she digs a little deeper into a few locals her world is turned upside down.
Hockey star Ed isn’t looking for love, in fact, he’s quite happy with the non-committal groupies who surround him, until he finds a woman who has been attacked in a parking garage, instead of her life flashing before her eyes, his does. This one woman turns his self-centered lifestyle on its head.
Linda’s tale is like life, multifaceted and interwoven. You start reading along and just when you think you have it figured out what is going to happen, another enigma is added. The suspense portion of the book will get your racing, who am I kidding, so will the romance portion, except that part won’t keep you up at night. Parts of this book will have you checking to make sure your door is locked and entrance light is safely on. Though the romance is expected, the suspense will leave you guessing, the ending a poignant reminder that our God can turn any situation.

Fear is Louder Than Words is the chilling story of one woman’s repeated encounters with evil. As the target of a madman’s hatred, Rochelle struggles to keep a grip on her sanity, continue doing her job for those counting on her as a voice of truth, and talk sense into her foolish heart. The trouble is, the guy she’s falling for makes her feel safe, and she can’t need that. If she can’t get control of her fear, she can’t give over her heart. And what’s worse, she’s becoming so traumatized by ongoing threats and shocking discoveries that she’s no longer the person she used to be.
Rochelle soon realizes that everyone she meets is a potential lunatic with a diabolical scheme, and we can only wonder if she ever be able to stop looking over her shoulder. This story is a chilling, romantic suspense with twists and surprises that lead to more questions. Definitely a page turner!

Linda Glaz kept me turning pages with this cautionary tale of stalking and fear. When the heroine finds herself falling for a protector, she struggles with discerning between emotions of love and the need for protection. The stalking/stalker changes how she perceives herself and others and it affects her job.
If you love suspense with romance, this is a must-read. Loved it.

Ooh I love a good suspense and this book didn't disappoint. Just when I started thinking I knew what was coming BAM! A twist. All the way up to the end, I couldn't finish fast enough to see what was going to happen and how all the threads would weave together. And boy did they.

Definitely A Page Turner!
Rochelle Cassidy, radio talk show host, is known for her big mouth and conservative views, which sometimes brings out the worst in her listeners. And on occasion she gets a threatening letter, or two or three. Usually it's not a big deal until the words become actions and you find yourself face to face with a crazed killer in a dark parking lot.
Hockey Star, Ed McGrath was living the good life, at the height of his career, partying almost every night with a different beauty until the night he rescues a woman in a dark parking garage from her would be killer. Saving someone's life has a way of making you take a closer look at your own life.
Rochelle is grateful for her hero, but after being mistreated in her past by a deceitful boyfriend, she is happy to send Ed on his way with a simple thank you. Ed on the other hand would love nothing better than continue being her protector. With a killer still stalking her, will Rochelle learn to trust again and let Ed take care of her or will she turn him away, facing her fears on her own?
If you are looking for a book that keeps you turning the pages, this one is for you. Loaded with lots of suspense and almost too many twists and turns to keep up; but that's what makes for a great story, right? Well done Mz. Glaz!

This was certainly a fast paced read. I'm not sure what all to say about it that won't result in spoilers, but I'll give it a shot.
There are three almost completely distinct storylines running through this book, the only element really tying them together is Rochelle. So the reader is watching Rochelle dealing with the terror her attacker has generated in her, while she is fighting her attraction to the man who saved her, and we're watching Kyle as he progresses and escalates his hatred for Rochelle - for unknown reasons until nearly the end - and then there is Maggie and Erik and the PhD clinic.
The threads are woven together well, and kept me interested and guessing what was going to happen next. I'm happy to say there were a few things I didn't see coming, but after the fact I thought, "well of course..." Which means they were set up well, but not made out to be blatantly obvious gimmies.
The main characters were for the most part complex and very well developed. I could totally picture Kyle as played by Giovanni Ribisi, particularly the character Gio played in The Postman. I couldn't find a good picture of that character, but this one is close.
I worried for a little bit that his reasoning for hating Rochelle so much wouldn't be sound, but it was totally compelling. Yes, he creeped me out, but I appreciated having his perspective in the book.
I loved Ed. He felt quite human and had his flaws, so he wasn't "too good to be true" but he was very much a stand up guy and someone to love having on your side in a pinch. He might have been a bit too much of a super-hero toward the end, for reasons I can't say without dropping a spoiler, but that is dramatic license and I'd lump most of it under "things you can do when fueled by adrenaline" and call it good. The only thing that bugged me about Ed was the way his falling in love with Rochelle was portrayed. It just seemed a bit weak. Perhaps because the "I don't know why I'm attracted to her" card has been played out so often in books. I do think it's a real thing - often people don't know what draws them toward others, but he didn't seem to know what it was about her for much of the book, and I guess I like a hero to know his own heart a little better, and be able to pinpoint what it is a little sooner.
Rochelle. Rochelle, Rochelle, Rochelle. I don't know what to say about her. On the one hand, she was strong. Strong in her beliefs, strong in her will to fight against her fear, strong in her faith and convictions. The fact that she spent much of the book afraid didn't detract from her strength to me. It takes a lot of strength to continue living life despite that kind of fear.
But there was a lot of things I didn't "get" about her. I did several eye-rolls at her when she fled over misperceptions of Ed and Alicia. It's understandable and a common element in romance stories - common and overdone. It is a pet peeve of mine when people run away instead of confronting a situation more than once. I get that we can't all be strong enough to stand there and hash a thing out in the moment every time one comes up, but for me, I much prefer to see that kind of growth sooner rather than later. The more times a character runs rather than faces a confrontation, the less I like them as my heroine. It has become a weakness I despise. A personal bugaboo of mine. Does that make this book terrible? No, but I think it accounted for half of that missing star.
The whole thing with Danny perplexed me. I didn't know where he fit into her timeline, how long they were together, (I'm sure it was listed, but I didn't get a feel for what that time meant to her other than "he treated her horribly" which didn't give me the sense of why she stayed with him, or why ) It felt like a plot element that had been forced into the story, and it didn't really fit.
The rest of the star loss comes from the secondary characters, who were a bit like cardboard cutouts to me. Again, treading lighting to avoid spoilers, there was the drunk, scorned wife, the over the top doctor with secrets to hide, the wanton woman - two of them, actually - and the best friend with the seemingly perfect life. I didn't feel connection with any of them most of the time, and it just left me wanting to see them more clearly, for how they affect the main characters.
The final element I want to address is the presence of religion: faith and conviction. I'm not someone who likes being preached at, and this book definitely did not push me off with overt "bible-thumping" or a holier-than-thou-attitude. Believe me, I wouldn't have finished if I'd felt put upon. No, the threads of Rochelle's faith and how she lived it, and her dreams for a life steeped in it, were very present but not overwhelming. The way her faith affected her relationship with Ed was touching and one especially beautiful moment even got a tear in the corner of my eye. So in short regarding the religious aspect, I think people who like a strong element of faith in the books they read won't be disappointed, but neither will the casual reader be turned off by it.
Overall, I recommend this as a clean read that retains plenty of suspense and excitement. The rating would be PG-13 - with an added caveat for violence. Any survivor of sexual violence and may be triggered by scenes in this book.

A very enjoyable book! The characters were very real, not perfect but with faults like we all have. The author did a good job of showing how God can work in our lives and bring good from bad situations.

A good reaf

Really good read
This author really knows how to drag her readers in. I was sucked in within the first few pages. I loved Rochelle, she is such a strong character and even after meeting Ed, she remains so. The characters mixed well with the storyline and each other. I wish there was more

Linda S. Glaz has written a spine tingling suspense interlaced with a romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. From page 1 I was pulled into the story and the strong characters and plot kept me turning the pages.
Chapter 1 begins:
Chistmastime is near
Happy time of year
But Princess.... you deserve to die.
Talk about intriguing. Rochelle Cassidy, also known as Motor Mouth Princess, works at WNIC as a talk show host. She is known for her controversial show, but more so after her interview with Detroit Councilman Bennett and his fall from grace. Now with this last stalker note she's convinced Councilman Bennett is behind the notes and trying to use them as scare tactics. The attack on her in the parking garage shook her to the very core. Strangely enough the only time she felt safe was with Ed McGrath, professional NHL star, who was nicknamed the "Pain Machine". Ed came to her rescue during the attack and as the days progressed became her friend also. Both were attracted, but Rochelle was not comfortable persuing a relationship at this time, plus Ed led a lifestyle she hated. Rochelle vows not to let the stalker see how much he's shaken her and refuses to let fear control her life.
This was a wonderful story that kept me reading long into the night. As the story progressed and a new plot twist was added I would think just one more chapter.lol
Needless to say I really enjoyed this story.
Linda Glaz is a new author for me, but I will definitely be reading more. She literally pulls the reader into the story with an engaging plot and strong characters. I loved Rochelle, but felt she was a bit reckless at times, of course given the same situation I may have reacted the same as her. She was someone I could picture as a friend and having a cup of coffee with. Ed stole my heart when he talked about wanting to be a better person when he was around Rochelle. The lifestyle he had grown comfortable with no longer held the same appeal.

Talk about intriguing. Rochelle Cassidy, also known as Motor Mouth Princess, works at WNIC as a talk show host. She is known for her controversial show, but more so after her interview with Detroit Councilman Bennett and his fall from grace. Now with this last stalker note she's convinced Councilman Bennett is behind the notes and trying to use them as scare tactics. The attack on her in the parking garage shook her to the very core. Strangely enough the only time she felt safe was with Ed McGrath, professional NHL star, who was nicknamed the "Pain Machine". Ed came to her rescue during the attack and as the days progressed became her friend also. Both were attracted, but Rochelle was not comfortable persuing a relationship at this time, plus Ed led a lifestyle she hated. Rochelle vows not to let the stalker see how much he's shaken her and refuses to let fear control her life.
This was a wonderful story that kept me reading long into the night. As the story progressed and a new plot twist was added I would think just one more chapter.lol
Needless to say I really enjoyed this story.
Linda Glaz is a new author for me, but I will definitely be reading more. She literally pulls the reader into the story with an engaging plot and strong characters. I loved Rochelle, but felt she was a bit reckless at times, of course given the same situation I may have reacted the same as her. She was someone I could picture as a friend and having a cup of coffee with. Ed stole my heart when he talked about wanting to be a better person when he was around Rochelle. The lifestyle he had grown comfortable with no longer held the same appeal.

The motor-mouth princess, Rochelle “taking a stand against hell” freely opines from her conservative Christian radio talk show. Ed becomes Rochelle’s self-proclaimed protector, whether she wants him or not, and the two pursue a twisting and occasional rocky relationship. In a kind of weird parallelism, ghosts from Rochelle’s past and ghosts from a time of horror in international history haunt Rochelle and Detroit. Rochelle and Ed won’t let the past continue to destroy the future. These mysteries blend together for a suspenseful read.
I have to admit that I often buzzed through pages of “can I or can’t I” from Rochelle and Ed, but on the whole, Fear Is Louder than Words is an entertaining read. Wow! I've read some of Linda's historical novels and really enjoyed them. Now I think she's got a real talent for suspense also.
I was excited to receive a free copy of Fear is Louder Than Words to review. I was captivated by the end of the first sentence. And by the end of the book I am definitely hoping for some more suspense books from this author.
Rochelle is a talk show host. And a pretty popular one at that. When she is attacked, Ed McGrath Hockey player extraordinaire comes to her rescue. Things are rocky between them for a while. She's scared of her own shadow and he's trying to change his ways. But every time she is in need of a friend or comfort, Ed is the one Rochelle turns to. Why?
When Rochelle starts investigating a clinic that produces little geniuses, things get real interesting! There were some very interesting characters in this book. The issue of forgiveness is a recurring subject. There was a lot of action and suspense. If you are a fan of suspense I think you will enjoy this great read.

I'm currently rereading this book since I enjoyed it so much the first time a few months ago. Quite exciting. Good characterizations. Excellent writing. As an author myself, I find it hard not to be critical of everything I read, but Linda Glaz has given me very little to criticize.
Every romantic suspense novel probably faces the same challenge: how to have the man and woman meet in a realistic and meaningful way. Having Ed come to Rochelle's aid as a knight in shining armor (figuratively, of course) proved an excellent way to start. And the way they resist one another is wonderfully entertaining.
The secondary plot is equally engrossing. I don't know whether other men are accepting of romantic suspense novels, but I found this one to be an excellent read for both genders.

My thoughts:
So...okay. This is not your typical romantic suspense. I told my husband just tonight (and last night) that it's weird. But in a *GOOD* way!
There are three story lines in this book that are intertwined (to an extent). I don't want there to be any spoilers because there are really interesting things and twists and turns, but they all make sense in the end. You probably will pick up on hints and foreshadowing here and there, but that's okay; it really makes the story even better. The writing is excellent! Fast-paced, well-edited (and proofread!). The chapters vary in length, but go by so quickly. The story itself is, I would say, very unique. Overall, it's an excellent book, and well worth the read! So go for it!

Exceptional storytelling
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Rochelle and Ed, how their individual stories unfolded, how one heinous act brought them into each other's lives.
As part of her job being radio host, she delved into subjects many would not be comfortable with but, deciding a change was in order, she went for a human interest story about a medical centre which specialized in bringing super intelligent children into the world...but things were not as they seemed on the surface.
The suspense became palpable as Rochelle continued to receive phone calls and visits from her attacker. It seemed he had it in for her and nothing she could say or do would change his mind, but the end of their story was very well written...was beyond heartfelt.
I would have to say this is among the top 5 books I have read so far in 2016.

This book was AMAZING! I was immediately caught up in the detailed web of mystery. Linda Glaz did an amazing job of creating characters that drew you into the story so much so that while I was reading it - I tried to warn them - "watch out!" The ending was such a surprise and the romantic story between Rachelle and Ed will pull at your heartstrings. There was equal amounts of romance and suspense which is perfect in my opinion! I love everything Linda Glaz writes and hope she continues writing since she is brilliant and so talented! Buy this book, read it and make sure you have plenty of time - I couldn't put it down for fear Rachelle couldn't survive without my verbal warnings. =)

From the first sentences, in the form of a Christmas poem, my blood pressure went up and it stayed there through the rest of the story. Linda Glaz wove a masterful plot of intricacies, red herrings, and unexpected detours. Her characters have strong personalities and realistic dialogue unique to each of them.
The relationship that grew between hockey hero and motor mouth was exquisite! The tension elevated perfectly in pretty direct correlation to the intrigue. I also enjoyed getting to know so many characters. The different sub-plots uncovered all sorts of antagonistic possibilities.
Made for a great story! Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys equal parts of romance and suspense.

Wow and more wow. This being my first read by Linda Glaz I didn't know what to expect. It held all the genre' that I like to read, Christian suspense and Christian romance. It was spellbinding and amazing from the beginning to the end. The characters drew you into the story as well as having two stories in one that came together in the end in a surprising way. There was equal amounts of romance with clean kissing, no sexual scenes, and suspense with lots of twists and turns. I loOk forward to reading more from this author. I was given a copy for an honest review. I highly recommend this book

If you like sweet romance mixed in with suspense; if you like the idea of a radio talk show host and a rugged hockey player falling for each other; if you like the concept of a mysterious stalker or a sub plot involving designer babies; if you like a story that moves quickly but keeps you guessing; and finally, if you like a Detroit Motor City setting, then this is a good read. Glaz utilizes an interwoven story structure to carry multiple plots which eventually intersect, and it's fun to anticipate how and when all will converge. The message of faith and forgiveness is nicely present but not preachy. One of those books that you will read and pass on to a friend.

If you like suspense, you need to pick up this book. Rochelle is attacked in a parking lot. Ed comes to her rescue. But she is a Christian and he is a playboy. Will they end up together? How does it work? What is going on at the doctor's office that she is trying to interview? Who is out to get her? This book will be very hard to put down once you get started. Well written with plenty of keep you on the edge of your seat action. I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.

Another marvelous and inspirational read by Linda Glaz!
It's so easy to become entranced with her characters; they're all so full of life and personality. The same went for Fear Is Louder. A compilation of very different people, brought together in such unexpected ways. The element of suspense drew me in so much more, and the outcome was very different than what I had thought throughout the book. Excellent twist!

Linda Glaz has written a gripping - very real - very suspenseful story. Although I KNEW I had to be up early and at my desk by 5:30am - I could NOT put the book down - especially when I reached the middle of the story. No sagging middle there - wow- without spoiling this for any readers....I will say....it is worth the time it takes you to read it....the characters will stay with you for days.....the subject will hit your heart.....surprises in store...GET YOUR COPY ASAP!

Pretty standard fare, the young girl (on her own in the world) falls for the handsome, compassionate athlete. The thing that set this book apart is the Christian flavor. I use that word intentionally because it's just a taste and not at all overwhelming. It didn't scare me away while still making it's point. This is not a genre I usually read but I found it a passably entertaining read.

My only regret about reading FEAR IS LOUDER THAN WORDS is the little free time I have to read--sure wish I could have read this novel more quickly since it's an exciting read! The tension is crisp, the dialogue realistic, and the plot had me guessing about the identity of the true bad guy.

Received a copy in exchanged for an honest review. This is a good suspense romance book, but I did have a little difficulty with the lead character Rochelle. I understand the author was trying to make her scared and guarded, but in a lot of ways her attitude came off as just plain unlikable. It took me awhile to warm up to her. The overall story was well-written and the suspense had a nice twist.
