Traveling Gypsies, Sick Kitties, and Attempted Murder
When one of Sweet Home’s seniors is conked on the head and left for dead, it’s time for Lily and Jules to figure out the who and the why. But with the holiday markets in full swing, a group of gypsies in the middle of the fracas, and a sick Miss Pickles the cat, the girls and Officer Eli have their hands full.
Find out what happens as Lily’s entire life changes.
Constance Barker lives in the Midwest with her husband and two Akitas where she can look out from her screened porch onto a wooded area brimming with activity. Since she was a young girl she read mysteries, often given to her by her grandmother. She loved figuring out who the culprit was and sometimes she was right and other times startled at who the author picked as the assailant. Now she enjoys writing mysteries herself. When she isn't writing stories, she can be found in her favorite vacation spot, Las Vegas or shopping for bargains.

I love a great cozy mystery and this was one of those. It was a quick audiobook at just around three hours long. I didn't want to stop listening so I put it on every chance I had.
There are a couple mysteries that take place in this small town where everyone knows everyone. Who is making the cats sick and who hurt the older lady in the market square? Lily and Jules will figure it all out. Super cute and a lot of fun, this story makes a great Christmas mystery read/listen. A lil romance and mystery all rolled into this story.
Narrator ~ Angel Clark: The narrator sounds like she had a blast doing this book. I love how she changes her voice for all the characters and I didn't find any of them to be annoying to listen to. I found she has a great voice for story telling and can't wait to listen to more by Angel Clark.
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars and look forward to reading/listening to more from this author.
Peppermint Pandemonium: A Cozy Mystery by Constance Barker
I didn't expect to like this little novel as much as I did. Featuring a mix of characters of ages and ethnicities and set in a Holiday Market, this book was a fun read. Very good editing and proofing, as I found only two errors. Both were omitted words (and both were 2-letter words) -- one near the start of the book and the other near the end. Good pacing, easy to identify with characters, and a dandy mystery go this little cozy 3 stars. The fourth star came from the authors respectful treatment of the Romany characters, something that I see happen far too seldom.
So, if you're looking for a pleasant read that involves a Christmas setting, this one may be for you!
The fantasy of a friendly small town continues and I like the characters more and more. The mystery in this is even better than in previous books in the series.
I enjoyed reading this book especially now that it's time for Christmas. It had a mystery no one was killed, everyone was happy and a marriage proposal
This was by far the best Christmas book I've read so far this year so far. It is just the right amount of fun, mystery and romance without being too mushy. It's worth a read.
I listened to the Audible audio version of this book.
" A Great Series and the Third One I've Listened To"
PEPPERMINT PANDEMONIUM is another cute cozy in the Sweet Home series. I really like these mysteries. The characters are fun and even funny. This one takes place before Christmas but it's good anytime. Eli is a funny character. I also liked the "gypsies." CONSTANCE BARKER does a nice job writing these stories. It makes me wish I had a fireplace to snuggle up near while I listen.
ANGEL CLARK does another great job narrating these cozies. She has an amazing way of differentiating the character's voices. And there's many good characters. She's a great reader and I look forward to more in this series.

This is the fifth book in the Sweet Home Mystery Series and it's been the most delicious one so far. Constance Barker just has a way with words and once you begin to read or listen to them, you don't want to stop until the very end. Someone is pretending to heal the cats after they mysteriously fall ill. But they keep on relapsing - Someone is bashed over the head and lands up in hospital. And the hunt is on! After these mysteries are solved there is a most romantic and delightful surprise, but to find out what it is, you'll have to read this book. I've listened to the first 3 books in this series and enjoyed them. It felt like I was back with old friends, getting ready for Christmastime . We got more than one mystery to solve. Quite a fun quick listen. Now I realized I missed book 4, so I visited Amazon and it is on my Kindle...................waiting.
