Cheesy. And the plot was so unnecessarily convoluted that the narrator staged a thirty-page explanation scene at the end, in which all characters were gathered together in one house to hear how the murders had actually unfolded. As if this trite scene needed explanation, the narrator actually writes, "It was like a classic scene from an old mystery novel..." Ridiculous. No wonder this book has been sitting on my shelf for 15+ years.
