A graphic novel adventure from the world of Erin Hunter's #1 nationally bestselling Warriors series!
In the first book of the Ravenpaw's Path manga arc, find out what happened to Ravenpaw after he left ThunderClan in Warriors #1: Into the Wild.
Ravenpaw has settled into life on the farm, away from the forest and Tigerstar's evil eye. He knows that leaving the warrior clans was the right choice, and he appreciates his quiet days and peaceful nights with his best friend, Barley. But when five rogue cats from Twolegplace come to the barn seeking shelter, Ravenpaw's new life is threatened. He and Barley must try to find a way to overpower the rogues--before they lose their home for good.
Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astronomy and standing stones.
Wow, this was a really great book. Just wait until you read the ending.:-)
In this comic so cats in need come to the farm to seek shelter from the snow. Barley thinks there's something suspicious about them but, Ravenpaw is to happy having other cats around to see what the roughs are planing. Then a horrible fire burns part of the barn down, and something even more horrible ochers. What will Ravenpaw and Barley do next? Who will help them regain there home? And Will Starclan send them a sign?
It's fun to see the cats in manga form. This is the start of a three-book series that's perfect to read right after finishing The Prophecies Begin series of novels. It tells a story about Ravenpaw and Barley on the farm. The graphic novel format allows the story to be less intense than the novels, with more space for humor.
After I've seen some of the beautiful artwork of Japanese manga, I'll never look at other comic books/graphic novels the same: but the story was the main draw anyway, since I love Warriors so much. I just wish there was a little more of the story in a book that's only 90 pages and mostly artwork.
Well so I was going to take a break from the series but it wasn't as long as I planned it's just so good and I missed it. I even wanted to try one of the graphic novels, this was really good and I liked it a lot but I like the books better than the graphic novels.
This was a really good even as a stand-alone and a great start to this trilogy! A very coherent and interesting story and it clearly opens up the rest of the books. I love getting more of Ravenpaw’s story and the art in this was pretty similar to what I had imagined.
Ravenpaw is an former clan cat. But, he and Barley have left that life behind, and settled into a barn at a twoleg farm. They are very happy with their new life. ------------ One day, a pack of clan cats come to stay with them, so that an expectant mother can birth her kits. The kits grow up loving Ravenpaw as well. However, Barley has suspicions of the cats. Ravenpaw brushes this off, and carries on as normal. However, it comes to pass that the visitors set the barn on fire, and eat the hens. Ravenpaw and Barley try to set things right with the chickens, only to be caught be the twolegs in the henhouse and banished from the farm forever. This excites the visitors, who taunt them and take claim on the farm. ------------ Ravenpaw and Barley travel into the highstones to the Moonstone, where Ravenpaw receives advice--from Starclan--that he should go ask Firestar for help. He becomes sure that Thunderclan will help them, so he wakes Barley up, assuring him of this. ------------------------- This volume ends on that note. I wish it had been longer. I really enjoyed the story, but do not have the other 2 volumes.
I do not usually read Manga, but my 10 year old nephew is currently obsessed with all things Warriors. On a recent visit to the library, he urged me to borrow it. Although he had moved on to the actual novels, this is the book that got him hooked. I can see why.
Especially for young readers, it has a classic story of the young hero who turns his back on the world, only to question that decision. If we are looking at archetypes, Ravenpaw has entered the classic "liminal space" where we go to heal, and grow, and learn about ourselves, before returning, reborn. This is the middle of his story. There is much more to come. (Which is great for young people to read, because, of course, they are in the middle of THEIR stories.)
Despite being in the middle of the story, I was not confused at all. I only wanted to read more because I was interested in the characters.
I recommend this to all readers, but especially for those grownups who have voracious young readers (or even reluctant readers) in their lives. It is fun and thoughtfully constructed.
In this book there are two mane ceriters Ravenpaw and Barly. Barly= Barly used to be in the blood clan he new they evel tride to exape.y doiing that the blood clan leeder (Scorg) threten the life of his sister. In all Barlys life was and is hard! Ravenpaw= ravenpaw used to be in the thunder clan. His best Kit mate is now the leder of the thunder clan. As you read on thunder clan is (very) help full. Ravenpaw is the one how (will allways) sind a way to cheer Barly up.
Plot= The plot of this sorire is... Ravenpaws and Balys home has ben taken over by roge cats. They need help geting it back. So they go to the thunder clan. WATE its ben a day all redy and there not even haf way there. Can they make it??? (gasp)
I read Warriors; Shattered Peace; Ravenpaw's Path because it looked like a cute graphic novel to read. In language arts class we had to read a graphic novel, so I chose this book. I have also always wanted to see what this book was about.
My opinion on this book is that it is a cute and friendly. Ravenpaw is a nice cat who will help others- like the cats that came to Ravenpaw and his friend Barley. They needed a place to stay while their kittens were being born.
I think that anyone could read this book. It shows good honesty and integrity. Anyone who wants a good book that can sort of relate to reality and sort of relate to fantasy, this is the book to read. There is a whole series that I will also be reading soon!
This is the first book in the Ravenpaw's Path series of manga/graphic novels, which details the experiences of Ravenpaw and Barley when cats from Bloodclan threaten their peaceful existence.
This is an entertaining story and gives the reader more background about Ravenpaw's experiences on the farm and his relationship with the clans that we'd never read about in the main books.
It's a fast read and the illustrations are very good. Our youngest really enjoyed reading this book and we are both looking forward to reading the rest of the Warriors Manga graphic novels.
Ravenpaw wanted to have a peaceful life in the barn, but a group of rouge cats invaded the barn. So, Ravenpaw and his best friend Barley tried to fight back against the rouges. Then, there home was no longer. Warriors Shattered Peace is a story about bravery, courage, and peace.
it was a good book. these cats were living in a barn. then some cat need a place to sleep so they let them stay. the cats that where staying there ate chickens and then the owner kick the cats out. the farm burnt down. the cats save the dogs.
I liked it. Its about two cats and one of them were in a clan but he didn't want to be in it anymore. He lived on a farm but the barn burned down. He helped other cats but they betrayed him. He got kicked out of his home so now he living in the woods,
Premise: Ever since he first came as a ThunderClan apprentice fleeing from his murderous mentor Tigerclaw, Ravenpaw has lived happily as a farm cat with his best friend Barley. Though most days are the same – spent hunting mice, sleeping in the barn, and exploring the surrounding property – both cats are content. One winter day, a group of rogue cats arrive, seeking food and shelter. While Ravenpaw gladly welcomes them, Barley isn't so trusting. And it's only after a fire strikes that the black tom starts to think his friend might be on to something.
Story/Writing: Poor Ravenpaw. His past as a Clan cat keeps coming back to haunt him. Though, that could be either a negative or a positive depending on whom you ask. If anything, it makes for great drama! And that's what I'm here to read! Plus, it's always fun to read in a different format every once in awhile. If anything it means it doesn't take as much time to read them, at least for me. But back to business, even if no one on the actual Erin Hunter team technically wrote the script (from what I know, anyway) you can feel their collective guiding hand telling the story as you flip through the pages. Whoever wrote the script really adapted the narrative well into the graphic novel format. Then again, that's a plus for all the graphic novels I've read so far in this series.
Artwork: I recognize the art style from the manga chapters at the end of each of the super editions I've read so far (with the exception of "Firestar's Quest"). I gotta admit, I do kind of prefer this style to the other two from "The Rise of Scourge" and the "Tigerstar and Sasha" trilogy. I don't know why, maybe that's just the first style I was exposed to, and it's the one used the most often in the graphic novels. But still, I really like this style and it's even better having it in color! Each of the characters look distinct and the environments make you feel like you're looking at them from their point of view. My favorite was StarClan – I mean, it looks gorgeous! The way it's drawn and colored makes it look at beautiful as it should! I also like that the humans have a different font when they speak, since the cats of course can't understand them and vice-versa.
Ravenpaw and Barley – Of course, Ravenpaw is the main character, but I liked Barley just about as much. You can tell these two are best friends and have been through a lot together. And since Barley is a good bit older than Ravenpaw, I always thought of them as having a sort of uncle-nephew relationship. Ravenpaw himself is no longer the shy and timid apprentice he used to be, but he still keeps his most likable traits as a grown cat. He's kind and generous, has integrity (as evidenced by leaving the farmers' chickens alone), and is always willing to help, whether it's cats in need (seemingly) or even a couple tied-up dogs! I also thought it was really interesting that Ravenpaw was trying to figure out if he belongs on the farm or in the forest, especially when you remember he keeps his apprentice name for the rest of his life, always reminding him that he was Clanborn in the first place. Not to mention he's the only one who goes to StarClan when he and Barley fall asleep at the Moonstone. Speaking of whom, I thought Barley was charming. A simple cat wanting a simple life. A lot like me actually. And of course he's there to keep Ravenpaw from getting too in over his head. He doesn't really get as much development as Ravenpaw, but I liked their comradery.
Various Other Characters – I of course knew from the moment they showed up that the rogue cats were going to cause trouble for our heroes. And yet, they didn't seem like that at first, especially since one of them was a queen nursing kits. Speaking of which those scenes of Ravenpaw with the kits are just adorable! But I digress. I truly was not expecting them to be BloodClan cats, and looking back on it, it makes sense! I can't believe I didn't catch that! But still, I liked that Minty was willing to defend Ravenpaw and Barley, even if the only reason was probably because her kits took to Ravenpaw. Even so, I can't wait to see Ravenpaw, Barley, and their ThunderClan friends kick their sorry tails off the farm!
Overall: I will admit, I wasn't expecting too much with this first volume. Then again, that's not always a bad thing, because I thoroughly enjoyed what I got! The artwork is fantastic, the storytelling, while in a different format, stays true to the Erin Hunter team's style, and I can't wait to read the next two volumes!

I got the omnibus ebook from the library with all three volumes of this set, but I'm counting them each individually because I can. Sue me.
This was a cute little volume! It wasn't anything outstanding, as far as story goes -- pretty standard for warriors, with the intruders on a peaceful time storyline -- but very enjoyable nonetheless! The art is adorable; the whole page with Ravenpaw getting his tongue stuck on the ice was precious. I've missed Ravenpaw, since he disappeared so early in the series and then once the Clans move to the lakes he's never really heard from again. It's good to see how he's doing.
I also liked that this sort of works to semi-fill in the gap between The Prophecies Begin and The New Prophecy Arcs! The passage of time was a bit off, and I'll admit that irked me; they state that the visitors leave about a quarter moon after they arrive, but that's only a week and in that time Minty gave birth and her kits were able to walk around and be taught fighting moves? Somehow I don't think so. But once again, I am trying too hard to apply logic to cat soap operas. I'm only setting myself up for disappointment, really.
But yes, overall I quite enjoyed this! The fact that it's in colour now is really lovely. I hope I can snag a copy someday for my collection! Until then, it's time to move on to book 2 in OoTS: Fading Echoes! I'm hoping I can knock this one out pretty quick, though we'll see how things go. Onward~
It's great seeing Ravenpaw get his own small story. This manga reminded me of why I like him a lot. Definitely one of my favorite cats in this series. He's very calm, kind and helpful. He doesn't have that smug arrogance as the other clan cats in Thunderclan. Living away from the clans, I feel like it has given Ravenpaw some perspective that he otherwise wouldn't have had. He seems like the type of character to not look down on non clan cats or humans for that matter. Which was a very nice breath of fresh air.
It was also nice to see Ravenpaw determined to help the chained dogs escape from thr fire. Even if the dogs tried to snap at them once they were lose. I'm just these cats just saved you, why are trying to attack them?? 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Gods, I hope those dogs recognize and don't try to attack Ravenpaw and Barley in the future.
I also hope the elderly couple realize that it wasn't Ravenpaw or Barley that killed their chickens. Surely, the elder lady might know. I mean, the cats have lived their all this time. Why would they attack the chickens now, you know? Like yeah, the mice all died or ran away from the fire, but still. I hope they realize the truth that other cats arrived and invaded the place.
Let me tell you, seeing those poor cute baby chickens be killed. Ahhhh. I was like oh no!!! D:
Anyways, will be nice to see Firestar next time. He will help them out. It's Firestar. Ofc, he will!
I look forward to see what happens!

I had to drop this down from 5 stars because I didn't really think anything that important happened?
To be honest, I don't know why they made this trilogy in the first place. Even without reading the last two, I know that Ravenpaw will simply return to his status quo with Barley and things will just carry on... being the same. I guess this was made due to fan demand, but the whole thing is pretty pointless. Not to mention Ravenpaw and Barely won't become the couple we all deserve. They could have at least thought of a better story.
That being said, I LOVE Barry's artwork. The way he draws cats is so expressive in their movements, and it brought to life every page even though there was practically nothing going on. I do really like Ravenpaw's own self-conflict about who he is and where he really belongs, but its the same as Sasha's story on that behalf, and we can't just recycle things... come on?
I'm pleased I read it, but Ravenpaw is a sweet character that deserves a whole lot more than this.
