What a great conclusion to an exciting series! I read the first two books over 3 years ago, but re-read them when I purchased these last two. Having now read the entire series from the start to the end, the “Hand of God” is one of my favorites.
The action, dark humor and gore notwithstanding, the religious and philosophical implications are still paramount to this storyline. Many believers still ask why God doesn’t do something about all the evil in the world and non-believers use that same question to declare God dead.
Victor is a most irreverent (but wonderful) character and Winston is a great wingman. I can visualize Kurt going from wimp to badass and Samantha, Elizabeth and Linda are definitely NOT Stepford women. In the background is Joshua providing guidance and giving assignments to the Hand. Fascinating book!
Great characters, well-developed storyline, solid series.
Throw in a whole bag of legend and Bible lore, mix in explosively heart stopping action, season it with some of the most truly horrific scenes you're sure to dream about later and what you have is the recipe for an awesome thriller. Revenge is the fourth book in the Victor McCain series and although I highly recommend the series as a whole this book is probably one of the most terrifying. Some of the scenes even rival those of famed author Stephen King, an awesome feat in and of itself. So, if you enjoy your bad guys bad and your good guys slightly tarnished, then this is most definitely worth your time.
