Wicked Trinity #2

The Rebirth of Sin

Rate this book
Keaton Mara once lived through a hell created by the most detestable malefactor she has ever known. Ready to put the worst behind her, she returns to the life she once abandoned with Noah, the man who arguably broke her and saved her simultaneously, at her side.

Noah Oliver is on what he believes to be an ordained mission. Purging the evil from the world is a crucial element of his personal vendetta. The seduction of the tormented souls, enticing them to give in to their temptations, accompanies his central mission.

Without Noah’s sanctuary to keep his more depraved desires satisfied, and with Keaton attempting to adopt a normal life, Noah faces an inescapable conflict.

Can Noah keep the devil off his back, or will the individuals he has the grandest plans for witness his wrath when they fall from grace?

Content contains descriptive violence, coarse language, graphic sex, minor horror elements, and scenes that most readers would find objectionable. Reader discretion is strongly advised.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! The Rebirth of Sin, book 2 of 3. Keaton tries to return to life outside of cult, but is caught between two men both claiming to be her savior!

“The sex was meant for his pleasure and my absolute destruction.”

Books in Wicked Trinity series should be read in order:
Book 1: The Sect
Book 2: The Rebirth of Sin
Book 3: Seducing Virtue

In The Sect, book 1 heiress and socialite on the run, Keaton Mara, Princess aka Mute. ended up at The House of Rebirth, a depraved cult, where she was coerced into sexual submission by the sinister Reven aka Shiloh Oliver and his volatile right hand man Noah Oliver.

The Rebirth of Sin, book 2 follows Keaton, in the aftermath of the cult, struggling to adapt to life. But the game is far from over. Soon she finds herself caught in a web of deception drawn to two men with agendas in what appears to be a struggle between good and evil.

Told from multiple POVs, it’s a dark, violent, shocking, deceptive mindfuck dealing with addiction, control, lust, trust, revenge and power. Looking for truth and clarity in book 3, Seducing Virtue which concludes the trilogy.

What a disturbing and twisted story! I loved it! If you loved 'The Sect', wait until you see what this book has in store for you. 'The Rebirth of Sin' will leave your head spinning. Just when you think you've figured everything out, you'll realize that you know absolutely nothing. What you thought was good, is evil and vice versa.

After escaping the cult at the end of 'The Sect', this book picks up with Keaton trying to reintegrate back into her old life. Noah and her are living together in D. C. as her mother begins to campaign for a seat in the Senate. Little by little, she's finding the pieces of herself that were lost.

As Keaton begins to acclimate to her life away from the cult, Noah struggles to find his way. The more Keaton tries to be what he needs, the more he demands. Eventually, she comes to realize that she cannot be what he wants, how he wants it.

Whereas Noah was Keaton's savior in the first book, he's anything but that in this one. Noah is one sick, sadistic monster. The revelations in this book about his character will force you to question everything.

This time around, Braedan, a mysterious philanthropist and campaign supporter for Keaton's mother, proves to be Keaton's knight in shining armor. He's there to support her and help her heal. Yet, he's got a secret and it will again, change everything!

I could not pull myself away from this story. It was intense and morbidly fascinating. There were so many twists and turns that I was constantly on the edge of my seat. It does end with things still very much up in the air, so prepare yourself for the wait for the next book. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in this series to see where Ms. Lane's twisted mind will take me. I loved every minute!

5 **didn’t see that coming** STARS

“You haven’t scratched at the surface of it all, and because your vision is obstructed, you may never see what’s right in front of you.”

This is by far the most difficult review I have ever had to write. The Rebirth of Sin was such a complex and mindboggling book, hours after I finished reading my mind is still spinning, trying to put all the pieces together and most importantly attempting to figure out where it will all go next.

There are very few authors who can pull off such a risque balance right on the edge of going too far and pushing limits way too much, while keeping the reader engaged, curious and a little baffled as to what is going on. Without giving anything away, this book answered some of the questions I had after The Sect, it revealed a lot more secrets and put so many more layers on top of all I thought I knew, that it basically twisted the 'reality' we learned in The Sect completely on its head.

Are you confused yet? Well, let me tell you one thing. After I finished reading this book I felt for the first time since I started the series everything made sense; in a twisted, suspend your disbelief kind of way.

The Rebirth of Sin is the sequel to The Sect and picks up a few months after we last saw Keaton and Noah in the café. Rebirth is gone. They are home in D.C., back with Keaton's family and friends. Keaton is trying to adjust to her new and yet old life. She lives with Noah and what might surprise people, their 'relationship' is kind of worse than when he held her against her will at the pseudo cult.

Noah has always been a mystery wrapped in a riddle. Hot and cold at any given time, but this time around I felt like I was confronted with a completely different character. Despite his shortcomings and you know....torturing Keaton all the time, he did show some semblance of humanity before. Now? Not so much. I guess the saying is right...people always tell and show you who they are, we just choose not to see what is right in front of us.

“I lie to you constantly Keaton. The sad thing is, I don’t think you’ll ever know what’s true and what’s false about me.”

Case and point.

Well, Noah is one sick motherfucker. No redeeming qualities, as far as I can see. I'm putting this here with a warning. The book is divided into two parts. Part one lasts until around 56%. And that is also where a lot of people might want to give up and just quit. I know I wanted to DNF....because yes, my limits were pushed past the point of no return. And my threshold for mindfucks is pretty damn high.

So, why the 5 stars and why did I love this book after all? Well, what comes in the second part completely blew my mind. Talking about deception and misdirection. Ms. Lane is a brilliant mastermind as far as I'm concerned. I can only urge you to trust the author and hold on for dear life. It is so worth it, I still can't believe what she did there.

I’m like a broken record when it comes to Courtney Lane. She completely twists your mind and takes you on a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions. If you are willing to read something dark, graphic and deceptive, look no further. This is an author who will deliver every time. Just be prepared to be on the edge of your seat, confused as hell and a little frightened maybe. ;)

OMG WOOW! I'm speechless right now.. This book made me so nervous and also so excited. It was really really good! And God, this story made me scared. When I read Noah's words, I was really scared of him... Keaton, she was so brave. She sacrificed herself just because she try to save her beloved ones... And Braedan. That guy left me speechless too. He was kind, thoughtful and so fucking sexy!!! And when I found out his secret. Shit, I wasn't really expected something really twisted thing. Courtney Lane, you really surprised me! :)

And that ending!!! WTF actually happened? I need more answers!!! Dammit, I'm totally mind fucked right now but I really enjoyed every damn minute of it.

Genre: Dark Erotic Thriller
Type: Book 2 of 3 from Wicked Trinity trilogy
POV: First Person - Multiple
Rating:

Months after she survived the cult Rebirth, Keaton Mara tried to move on with her life. But everyday became harder and harder when new scars kept coming while the old ones still haunting.

Noah Oliver had everything planned out. Believing he had a higher purpose, he was determined to start anew his mission and continue his crusade no matter what it cost.

When I read book 1, I was slightly disappointed when it wasn't as dark as I expected. Well... looks like this one made my dark heart pitter patter lol!

It was a power trip I was hooked on, and I didn’t know the severity of my addiction until she came along.

Not everyone would be able to appreciate Noah in this book. He was brutal and calculated. Half of the time I wanted him dead and another half I wanted to pat his back.

There was one place she fit perfectly, and that was with me.

I Iike seeing Keaton struggled with her body and her mind. She was constantly pushed beyond her limits and it was interesting seeing her rationalizing her choices.

"I’m going to darken your soul so severely you’ll never know the definition of light again—like I promised you I would. Welcome to the first day of the start of your real rebirth.”

As mentioned, this book is dark. There were many points where I cringed in fascination. And I love the direction of the story. There were three parts and each one has its own "life". I had a feeling about something and I was right. It certainly made the story more interesting.

If you like hard fucking (in every sense of the word) this book absolutely delivered - pain, pleasure and everything in between.

She was mine, completely…finally.

The Rebirth of Sin is a deliciously dark and twisted continuation of the series. I'm looking forward to the conclusion hopefully with an epic showdown.

“You think this is rebellion? You think you’re fighting? You’re running straight to what you should be running away from.”

Once upon a time I thought Pepper Winters was the master of dark books. That was until I read one of Courtney Lane's book: The Sect. As I said in my review for the first book, it was probably the darkest book I've read. The Rebirth of Sin definitely measures to the Sect... It's even worse.

description

The book is divided in three parts and you will need time to process everything you read.
Part one is brutal in every sense of the way. You absolutely have to read The Sect in order to comprehend what's happening here... And I'm not sure you will fully grasp what's really happening.

While at first The Sect was meant to be a stand-alone, I understood immediately the need to go further. There was something unfinished in Keaton's story. I was happy how it ended but there was a taste of not enough.

“Because you’re in love with me. It’s a very, very dangerous state to be in around me."

I thought I knew everything when I started my ARC for The Rebirth of Sin, I thought I knew how the story would go or I was hoping for some stuff to happen but I was so wrong! Nothing went as I planed.
Courtney Lane took EVERYTHING I knew and everything I took for granted and CRUSHED it. I was speechless! I didn't know what to believe, what to think. I was lost but damn it was GOOD

“I lie to you constantly, Keaton. The sad thing is, I don’t think you’ll ever know what’s true and what’s false about me.”

What I've come to know about Courtney Lane is that I can't tell you much about the story itself. It will ruin the effect for you. Her books are most certainly best experiences without knowing a lot.
Even telling how I felt during my read can be spoiler-ish. I'm scared you'll know what details is important and you will expect to feel a certain way.

Courtney Lane has this capacity to captivate me from the start! I read the first part of the book in a matter of hours. I have to admit I needed a small break after everything I witnessed. It was a lot to take in

In part two, a lot of things begins to make sense. I have to admit if Courtney Lane planed this all along she is a fucking genius!
I dare you to tell me all your theories! I got many. Some stuff happening crossed my mind but to actually read everything, I can tell you many of my theories weren't true!

I have no good advice on how to experiment the book. Just know you will want to DNF the book, Courtney push our own limits to the maximum and certainly beyond. But you have to trust her to bring some sense into this madness.
I'm anxious, thrilled, expecting and even hopeful for the future. This being the second book in a series of 4 makes me restless to know more. I want to be a small little mouse or even a bee to know what Courntey has in store for us.
I know just one thing: I won't believe anything until the end! I won't make any other judgement and I won't take for granted anything before knowing what's happening and before the word END is on the last page.

A New Design

MY THOUGHTS?

When I read the first book I wasn’t quite shock, ‘cause as you all know I’m used to read quite dark & rough things, and this one had a quite light version of it, at exception of some dentist issue, of course. But let me tell you that the warning of the first book, comes mostly in handy for THIS BOOK.

The author touches the surface of contemporary themes that are a bit conflict nowadays, such as the misinterpretation of certain religions to certain texts, the hypocrisy of the higher masses & the need to find a way to conquer our fears.
A New Design
A New Design

I liked the complexity of the book. Wasn’t too erotic, rather a really awful version of rough BDSM, until Breadan comes into scene
The story is high paced, told from the POV of ALL the principal characters, and throws all your sympathy, all the thoughts you might have at certain point about the characters right though the window, every now and then.
If the first book made me remember to that Tom Cruise movie Eyes wide closed…this has nothing to do with it, so I’d go with an extreme version of 50SoG for a couple of chapters…I guess.

TOTALLY RECOMMENDED

STORY
So, do you remember these guys?
description

Well the first book leave us with the premise, that they were gonna give it a go in order to make things work out , in the real world. So we get to see their lives in their brand new reality and how things that used to be well cimented for us in the first book, take an interesting TWIST

So, everyone would thought that NOAH would struggle with his inner demons in the real world in order to be with Keaton, right? But what we didn’t’ see is that he would actually EMBRACE THEM FULLY, and that Keaton would become in a huge part of his plans.
KEATON, well she’s finally back at home, back to her fortune, her parents and her friends, back to the life with the big socialite…right back at the place where she ran from.

She’s actually struggling with herself, her fears, weaknesses and real demons…in other words she’s at the mercy of anyone who can seems to bring her a bit of light & balance to her caothic life.

So
SHE needs a knight in a white armor that makes her feel safe
HE needs an innocent and broken girl that abides to his will
• Put both together and what will we get?
A New Design
A New Design

Remember that they are now in the real worlf, right in front of the eye of everyone to see, and you should know that our lovely Noah…is a terrible actor, so everyone that cares for Keaton would do the impossible to help her and knock some sort of sense inside of her thick head.
A New Design

Now, remember that Keaton needen a Knight in white armor?, well… looks like her family ran right into the perfect one.
A New Design

But Keaton, being Keaton and with all her inner issues…well…
A New Design

But, a warning comes with this taleNOT EVERYTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS & WHAT IT SEEMS SOMETIMES IT ACTUALLY IS!
A New Design

That my dear friends, is all I can say… otherwise I’ll be telling you the whole story. But f*ck let me just tell you that you will be completely
description

By the end of the book…oh right! & a bit grossed as well!! That is a warning I can’t forget

OMG!!!!
This was soooo good, can't seriously wait til I get book 3 I'm my hands. Please that day couldn't come soon enough!
So many themes, so many twisted, so many things.
I believe that the warning of the first book comes in handy for THIS book 'cause definitely this is not a love story!
I'm in shock & also I'm in awe! I don't have a clue who's the good guy anymore! But I can't deny that I also fell in love with Braedan... And the way he talked about Keaton in the past and now....f*ck! The things Noah did!! That guy really made me afraid sometimes.
I just ...wow!
I love when a book throw me out of the curve and leave with confusion after so many twists.
Lets just say that the full review to come is gonna be really long!

So glad I could get myself an ARC
Totally recommended for those who can stomach things quite rough! And not rough in a sexy meaning of the word oh and a bit disgusting... The last scene... Totally gross!!! But they deserved it! Hell yeah they did!

3.5* anything but love STARS!!

“You aren’t an exception to the rule, Keaton.
You never will be.” ~Noah

After the end of The Sect, maybe we all believe Keaton and Noah are gonna ride off into the sunset. Right? With The cult is burn to the ground and the leader, Reven or Shiloh Oliver is death also her demon. Keaton Mara finally has her freedom, but not for long until Noah Oliver back to her life. To claimed her. What they had isn't for mundane people. But Keaton never argue because she's fall in love with Noah even he never said it back.

Keaton is back to living her normal life. Working again at her company also hanging around with her old friends. While her parents and friends keeps nagging her about Noah's absent, Keaton became agitated. She could feel the difference with Noah. He's still pushing her beyond limits and it scared her. With the truth about the cult from Noah, Keaton's loyalty tested between him and her outside world.
“You haven’t scratched at the surface of it all, and because your vision is obstructed, you may never see what’s right in front of you.” ~Noah

Poor Keaton. As much as she loved him, Keaton wants to believe Noah will change for her. I'm amazed with her optimistic mind for him to Forget everything about vigilante mission also the cult. She just couldn't leave him easily. Noah keeps whispering sweet promises that taste like poison. Noah is totally blindsided Keaton and me.

This time, Keaton isn't alone. Her parents and friends are ready to help her. But Noah isn't going to give her up. His madness is going escalated to the worst in the form of sexuality. She was brutalized by him to remind her place. Noah's head was so wrapped with the rebirth of his new cult. I already knew something's fishy about him. His obsession towards Keaton finally answered by another person.

Right now, Noah is very resourceful and powerful person. He isn't afraid to use everything he had including to involve his accomplices. A new face, Braedan Michaels appears to be her new savior. He claimed that he's one of the victim from the cult and Keaton believe him. With Braedan's help, she succeed to ran from Noah's evil grasp.
“... We all have our roles to play, Keaton. Some of us play it better than others.” ~Braedan

The story told from multiple POVs between Keaton and Noah at first, then Braedan. We finally know the truth from Noah's POV. Pieces by pieces everything's start to make sense. When Keaton is still maintain what's left on her soul, she was still naive borderline desperate. It took damn too long for her to realize that Noah is the real master mind. Also another truth came from Braedan that totally shocked all of use. See? There's no way in hell someone's getting involve this madness with no agenda.

Another unpredictable ending from Courtney Lane. I couldn't put this book down! I was searching for answers instead I got my mind fucked really hard. The story was well-written with the crazy level of intensity with so many twists and turns. This one really make me hungry for more.
Everyone who ever wronged me would pay dearly, and the woman who was stolen from me would become my most fatal weapon to kill the individual who wronged me the greatest. ~Braedan

Holy shit.

Holy mother fucking shit.

(This review contains spoilers)

I just finished this book a few minutes ago and my head is still reeling with what had just happened. This book went above and beyond what I expected. I tried to guess where the story is going to go next and find myself constantly being proven wrong.

I don't even know anymore, Ms. Lane, you have done a wonderful job with this book. You have twisted my brain in such a way that I have given up trying to decipher what else you have in store for me. This woman has successfully and thoroughly fucked my mind, and I can't say that I hate it.

(spoilers start here)

All in all, I throughly enjoyed the story and I am diving straight into the third book. I am so curious with how all of this is going to play out

This book pinched my nipple and made me cry.

"Love is about how you are made to feel and not what your eyes reveal.”

This is the second book in The Wicked Trinity Series. Not a stand-alone.

WARNING: This is a dark book. If you like long walks on the board walk with psychopaths, well then enjoy. I'd like to classify this as psychological thriller meets twisted romance. Twisted fuckery.

SO, OMFG!!!! Did you read The Sect? Not everything is what it seemed, right? Well, this one is gonna BLOW YOUR MIND!! Hold on, I need a cigarette before I go on.

Right, ok. I need a shot of vodka too. Hold on.
I started this book thinking it was going to be a certain way, ya know. Like, the bad guy gets the girl, they live happily ever after in their twistedness. BUT, it turned out to be more complicated than I can explain. I mean, I'm like, you love her, don't you? I like mean guys, I do. but I started hearing that Taylor Swift song. "Why you gotta be so mean?" It was playing in my head. I wanted to beat his face in. Why? I have no idea, because this is my favorite type of dark, anti-hero. I was really thinking that Courtney Lane was a god and she was sent here to finally make me see my twisted ways. That's what I was really thinking. Noah is going on my I-Love-That-Your-Sick shelf. But if I saw you on the street, I'd run for my life. That's after I asked for your autograph though.

"I’m going to rip apart the shell you put on for the world and make you who I want you to be. I’m going to remove the dents from your soul, put there by people who shouldn’t be in your life. I’m going to darken your soul so severely you’ll never know the definition of light again— like I promised you I would. Welcome to the first day of the start of your real rebirth.”

Keaton is the people pleaser, annoyingly so. But, she takes the kicks and keeps on going. And every new revelation is like popcorn to her. I wondered if maybe she has some darkness lurking in the depths of her soul... Or maybe she's bringing the light. I'm not sure yet. Don't ever expect to figure out Courtney Lane's direction. You can drive up and down the street but you won't find her house of motives.

“The darkness hides the falsehoods about ourselves and helps us to reveal the truth."

I can't say much more without messing up your reading experience. This is a complex, multifaceted story that will leave you shocked. Pay attention because she leaves clues all over the place, I almost went back and re-read the first book. I blame Courtney Lane for my drinking now. I was on the verge of a breakdown, I have no fingernails left, and she owes me ice-cream. I need something to soothe my dark heart.

Hooked from the very first page!! Absolutely amazing dark romance/mindfuck read. I’m still Team Noah. The man brainwashed me good 😭 I appreciate book 1 even more now, especially as this book shares key flashbacks that develop the characters, without overdoing it.

5 FaBuLoUs StArS!
Courtney Lane takes her mind fuckery to another level!
Her characters suck you in and almost make you believe the same fuckery as the heroine. I was totally convinced that I had Noah figured out. Thinking of him as a twisted asshole who was just in denial of his feelings towards Keaton. I believe that's the same way Keaton seen Noah. She never loved Noah. She knew he was a mental case. Of course he's more of a nut job then I ever thought he was, the poor bastard.
Braedan Michaels.... **sigh**... LOVED, LOVED, LOVED him! He's definitely an angel (of sorts)!
Nadine.... I hope she's broken to tiny little worthless pieces!
I'm hurt knowing we have to wait until fall for book 3, Seducing Virtue.

You did it again Courtney!! You kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the other shoe to drop.
What I knew from The Sect, forget it!!! Who do you trust, who's in charge, what's going to happen next!!!????!!!!

I really liked Noah in The Sect, not so much this time around, he was down right rotten and more than once I wanted to beat the ever loving crap out of him. Now Keaton, need a good swift smack up the head too. But I can understand where she is coming from. She's confused thinks she deserves this.

The ending had me reeling and omg'ing out loud at my desk. You kept my attention for the whole book, with the twist and turns.

I cannot wait for the next installment.

Job well done!!!

"I'm going to darken your soul so severely you'll never know the definition of light again - like I promised you I would. Welcome to the first day of the start of your real rebirth."

The compound that housed Rebirth may be nothing but smouldering ashes but like the phoenix of myth and legend Noah's vision to carry out the work of Lord will rise and be even stronger than before. Keaton is trying to assimilate in to her new yet old life in D.C. putting the tragic events behind her and wearing her mask of normality to help her mother win her campaign. Keeping the horrors of why she abandoned her lifestyle and ended up on the streets a secret along with the true nature of depravity she endured whilst at Rebirth Keaton's mask is slowly slipping. Unable to balance her persona for her family and friends with her relationship with Noah something has to give before she ends up nothing more than shattered pieces...

Noah, beautifully twisted and insanely wicked, is a man with a vision. Learning a little more about his motivations he is a man who is an addict, he has a dependency and unfortunately for Keaton it's her screams of pain that he needs a hit of to quieten the demons in his soul. With Rebirth gone Noah needs to feed the hunger he has before it consumes him. Plotting and planning Noah seeks guidance from God, believing he is the chosen one that has been entrusted with a mission to punish evil doers and provide them with ther penance in form of bloody retribution. Noah is a master manipulator, playing with the emotions of the weak, making them dance to his tune. And yet gone is the finer aspects of his manipulation as his inner darkness is let loose predominantly on Keaton's flesh. His behaviour reaches a crescendo and his mask of civility slips to reveal the darkness that is so consuming. What is his mission and why is Keaton the central figure in his plans?

Braedon, a new enigma, swoops in to play the saviour not only for Keaton but for her mother's campaign too. Liking to keep to the shadows he is a mystery yet oozes compassion and humility. Why is he so invested in Keaton and her family? Nobody does anything out of the kindness of their hearts, or do they?

This is a story of three parts and of three main characters. Honestly I have no winning side as they are all wonderfully broken as each other. Keaton is no lady in distress that needs saving as she welcomes the torment and punishment Noah exacts as a method of alleviating her guilt. Her secrets and need to be false causes so much more misery for herself and her loved ones. Noah is a total lunatic that cannot equate his actions with his father's as he believes in his convictions to his last breath. His hubris will be his downfall. As for Braedon hmmmmm I'm on the fence. I cannot neither profess my love for him or hate him yet I'm eager to learn more.

This is like a walk in the forest after dark; the expected is not the reality, the fear and trepidation build leaving you a nervous wreck and every reaction is heightened. It is a dark read there is no escaping that this book will push your limits as Keaton strives to be everything Noah needs but his thirst for her pain surpasses anything she has ever experienced. It's grim and raw , the way she accepts his treatment is frustrating and made me despise her a little for not being stronger than that. Her acceptance feels like a betrayal somehow. Noah is wicked but I love him for it as he makes no excuses for his behaviour. Braedon is a puzzle, one I can't wait to figure out. Overall this story kept me guessing and had me questioning everything, I need the answers!

A five star soul blackening read.

Now I want answers! And I have no idea who to root for. All I can say is that I loved Noah, mbut now I'm seriously afraid of him, what a complete jerk!!!

“He promised me freedom when my prison sentence was up, but I didn’t so easily believe I’d ever feel it again. Any place with him was a prison.”

5 sinful stars!! Dark, twisted and did I say dark?

I refuse to give anything away with my review. I will say that this book sucked me in from the very first page and I didn’t put my kindle down until I was done!! This book is a complete rush of emotions and darkness. The devil never seemed so appealing until now!! Great job Courtney another great book under your sleeve!!

I am completely wrung out from each punch in this dramatic story! I don’t think I’ve experienced the level of mind play that is present in this book….like ever!

Keaton is rescued from Rebirth and is now with her parents and her rescuer, Noah. Something is going on with Noah. He is slowly losing his grasp on reality. The walls of DC and Keaton’s family and friends are suffocating him. From blackmail to threats to physical altercations, Noah asserts his authority, his superiority as only he can. What’s surprising is Noah’s treatment and rationalization of his treatment towards Keaton. She is the key piece in this game of chess but Noah seems to have misplaced his important chess piece, chivalry. Keaton is determined to sacrifice peace and happiness to keep Noah happy. Why? A happy man means a happy (and in this case a safe) clan! Noah’s transition from book one to book two is very dramatic. I didn’t see his craziness coming! He played us like a well scripted play! His insanity is extremely evident in this story. Thank the book gods!!! Then there’s Braeden…….

Who in tarnation is this Braeden guy? He’s rich, gorgeous, and her family and friends are determined to see him with Keaton. He’s saved Keaton, her family, and friends numerous times. How did he become so involved in their lives so quickly? What is his purpose and is he too good to be true? What is his end game? Why did he throw the good loving at Keaton? Braeden is a master chess player and he is determined to win this game.

Keaton. Braeden. Noah. The three are on a dark and dangerous journey. Once THE chess move is revealed….truth and clarity are hard pills to swallow. Keaton doesn’t know what or who to believe. The game has finally broken her.

This series is one wild and crazy ride! This series must be read in order to appreciate the mind games at play. This story is dark so heed all warnings. For the ADULTS who appreciate a story with all the ingredients needed for complete and utter awesomeness, READ this book! For the pretenders, please keep moving!

5 gazillion stars for Noah, Keaton, and Braeden!!!

***Given ARC for honest review***

I'm so twisted up about this story that I can't even begin to know where to start my review. Courtney took everything I thought I knew from The Sect and pretty much just threw that right out the window. Some things now make more sense from the first book but we also find out more about what really went on. If you thought you were happy with how the first book ended, well get ready, because you will for sure have more questions after reading this book and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one. Keaton and Noah's relationship goes off it's rocker and seems to take it's toll on anyone that steps into it's path. I was angry most of the time in the first 65% of this book and my feelings changed for Noah. He can be very, very cruel and has a plan that he believes has to be accomplished. Add in a new player to the game (or can you really say that?) and things actually seem like they might change for the good only to find out everything is possibly just going to come full circle once again and not what it seems at all ! I don't know what to think and who will come out okay from all of this. AHHHHH!!! Must read series!!

So I have sat on this review for two days trying to find words to say what this book made me feel.
1) I always root for the bad guy... always, but this book changed that. But then is the good guy good? I don't know!!!!! - I have theories. I need book 3
2) I said WTF a lot during this book. A LOT!
3)I nearly smashed my kindle... I had to walk away, but I couldn't stay away and had to keep reading.
4)I said WTF some more - in a good way.
5)Vomit is now a limit for me .. gag. Yuck... no.. just I can't.
6) I loved every single bit of this story.

Courtney has a way with her words that draws me in, I have really enjoyed both The Sect and The Rebirth of Sin immensely and have added them to my "dark must reads list"I love dark stories and the emotions they can illicit from me and these books did that. The story pulled the feelings from me, taking my heart and soul with them.

This book blew me away!! A very dark, demented, mind twisting story. You must read book 1, The Sect otherwise you will have no idea what's going on. I really had no idea what to expect after finishing book 1 but I was definitely shocked and surprised. Sometimes I wanted to curl up in the corner and suck my thumb because things got so dang intense. Heed the warnings!! This book is very dark and not for the weak.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this review voluntarily

Courtney you have seriously done it again. This read is so dark it will darken you soul. It is so beautifully written, that you know that the author has put her heart and soul into this book.

Noah, is one seriously twisted, dark, messed up man. He feels that everything he does has a purpose and that there is no wrong in it at all. He feels that he has the right to inflict pain on the one person that he wants to keep. He is addicted to it all, and he wishes to isolate Keaton from everything and everyone but him. He wants her reliant on him in every way possible.

Keaton has suffered so much, and she feels that what Noah inflicts on her is what she wants. After coming back to her hometown things start to change, realisations are made. Secrets are spilled and a stranger enters Keaton's life, with the purpose of helping her.

Braedon, is a man that comes in to save Keaton and her mothers campaign. No-one knows his secrets and he is hiding a very big one at that.

Courtney has delivered a deliciously dark read yet again, I swear that her books get darker with each one she writes. This book was devoured by me, a real page turner, you are engrossed right from the start. Looking forward desperately to the next book.

Someone else said this book was better than the first. in a way it was. The author seemed less afraid to give details and play mind tricks. Noah is still not good. He is worse. Keaton is still struggling like me to know what the truth is. Braeden , what a sneaky devil he is. I guessed right about him but I am still dying to know what happens in the third book. Not out till Sept , it is such sweet torture to wait.
