Doing the wrong thing doesn’t always make you a bad guy.

Shad is sick, and he knows he has very little possibility of getting better. He would have to get his hands on the pills Glass used to give him for the information Shad had on the pride, but Glass isn’t there anymore. There is someone else, though, and Shad has to decide whether to betray his brother, his mate, and his pride again, or let his illness slowly kill him.

Gabriel has been isolating himself ever since he got to Whitedell. He hates the tiger parts he sports since his time in the company’s lab, but he’s decided he’s had enough. He wants to feel like himself again, and that means coming out of the attic.

Shad and Gabriel have known they’re mates for months, but circumstances had made them decide to keep their distance. What will happen when Gabriel decides he doesn’t want that anymore? And will Shad make the right choice when his life is at risk?

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.
She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.
She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

This was book 15 in the "Whitedell Pride" series. Shad is sick again him and his twin brother Darin were rescued from one of the labs from the Glass company while he was there he was infected with a virus and blackmailed into helping Glass get information on the pride he was given some kind of pills that were keeping him alive and now that Glass has been captured by the council he can no longer get them and he is getting sicker. Gabriel was held in a lab for three years they were blackmailing his brother Adrian. Gabriel is left with tiger parts that won't go away and he has been in the pride for months but hasn't been seen he is a photographer and he takes pictures at night without being seen. Shad and Gabriel have known for months that they are mates but neither one of them were ready to accept each other and when Gabe notices that Shad is getting sick he knows that he needs to do something. When he finds out Shads secret he knows he needs to tell Dominic and he is tired of being lonely so he begins to go to lunch with the others and dinner. When they tell Dominic and Nate what Shad did and why they are both upset Nate more then Dominic turns out the pride has a mole into and they set a trap to catch whoever it is. Shad and Gabriel agree to start spending time together and start having sex. This was a really good book I felt bad for both of these guys they are both insecure Gabriel about the way he looks and Shad for what he did to the pride. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to finding out who the mole is although I have a good guess. I was also happy that Jayden found his mate.

What the hell kind of name is Shad? Isn't that the bottom feeder fish they use for fake crab?

The beauty of photography is that you can sell a copy and also give one to the model.

Argh!!! He was sick, so sick, which was so great, but then nothing. So much potential for a death bed scene and nothing. I keep getting robbed!

I had to look up sugar gliders and OMG they are so adorable!

Whitedell Pride 15

Doing the wrong thing doesn’t always make you a bad guy.

Summary:

Shad was stuck between a rock and a hard place after he was experimented on the glass scientists forcing him to choose to save not only his life, but his brothers too by spying on the very people he came to care for. Gabriel was human until the same scientists altered his DNA by crossing him with a tiger forever changing him. Gabriel's physical changes make him shy away form people, even his mate Shad. The two are fighting the bond between them until things come to head as Shad illness comes to a head after his pills run out. Opening yourself to others is never easy especially after the trauma both Shad and Gabriel have endured. It was inspiring how many of their pack members were more concerned with Gabriel's welfare than how he looked. Shad's nonchalant attitude went along way to helping Gabriel accept himself. This fast paced story never let up until the end and I for one can't wait for the next book in the Whitedell Pride series.

Shad is a sugar glider that we met earlier who did some unsavory spy work to save his brother. He’s now sick from the time he spent at the Glass Company and not sure he deserves to be saved due to his guilt conscience.

Gabriel is a mixture of tiger and human- permanently stuck partly shifted who hides because he doesn’t want to face people as a an “abomination”. He and Shad know they’re mates but fight it for their own reasons.

Eventually they decide to give mating a try and get their own HEA.

**

Sometimes I really resonate with the books in this series and sometimes I’m left a little cold.

I didn’t really get overly connected to either of these guys. I thought that their avoidance of their mating diminished it’s value to me so I wasn’t as gung ho about them finally agreeing to mate as I usually am.

I liked the unique trials and tribulations they had to overcome and I’m always happy when two guys get it on… but it wasn’t that great a story for me. The writing is good and I’ll keep reading because in general I love this series ☺.

Reviewed for Prism Book Alliance

I will admit, even with my recent re-read of the series, I had to search my brain to remember who Shad was. I guess he just never made a huge impression on me. Lievens, however, is a master at making stories for seemingly insignificant characters, so I shouldn't be surprised.

3.5. Not as good as some of the other books, but it was still a good book. Finally got to read about Gabriel and Shad. Shad was doing some things to get the meds he needed to stay alive. Gabriel and Shad knew they were mates but didn't push it for their own reasons. I'm still wondering about this mole, I do have my thoughts about who it could be.
