The royal family of Orsidia has been targeted by assassins and their only survivor is their son. Raised an orphan, Daniel discovers his supernatural abilities and is thrust into a world on the brink of civil war. Wicked forces have long eyed the Orsidian throne from the shadows, now that the emperor is dead. Only the true heir can stand against their onslaught.
As a Harry Potter and Myers-Briggs lover, I really got into this book, which is kind of like Harry Potter meets X-men meets Lord of the Rings. If you are a fan of any of these favorites, you’ll love Miraclist. Each of the three main characters have clear Myers-Briggs types (I’ll leave it to the reader to guess what they are) and their different personalities and magical abilities are strongly developed and play off each other well. As students in a magical school, they must prove themselves not only as students of magic, but as key players in a larger political upheaval that grows increasingly imminent. Both dark and innocent, serious and silly, Miraclist is a thoughtful, imaginative, well-crafted story. On to book two!
Considered to be one of my favorite books I have ever read, very impressed by the detailed writing, character development, and vivid imagery throughout the story that kept me wanting to know more after turning each page.
Book Club pick (not my usual genre) and yet I ended up really enjoying this book and cliffhanger have to read the next. I will say I feel like the Author is very much influenced by Hunger Games and Harry Potter, it felt like a combo of the two but flowed like Hunger Games.
Wow!! So well written with drama and heroism. If you enjoyed chronicles of Narnia, lord of the kings or Harry Potter this is a must read!! I can’t wait to read the next book!!
I told a friend about some of my favorite aventure book series (Narnia, Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Wingfeather Saga, and the Unwanteds) and he encouraged me to give Miraclist a try. I couldn't be happier with the recommendation!
The book jumps right into the story line and while it is lacking in some backstory details at the beginning, the writing content and style quickly catches the reader up and before long you are engrossed in the story line. I can't wait to start on book 2.
If you're looking for a new series to binge read, give Miraclist a shot...you won't regret it!
