Sloane Monroe Stories - Mystery Novella Series (with characters from the main series)
I loved reading about Sloane Monroe. She's the most REAL sleuth ever Sloane isnt perfect and she's got her quirks like the rest of us. Her loving but messed up self solves mysteries with her overloaded OCD brain. I'm buying more!!!
I will start with my objections first: I get very annoyed when authors use a singular noun with a plural pronoun; and that is a frequent issue with Bradshaw's writing. I made many notes when I encountered them. The other thing I really hate is when an author insists on writing dialog with a speech anomaly shoved at me with every line I read. The supposed Wyoming accent was so irritating, I nearly stopped reading. If Case had to use the annoying "accent", why wasn't his daughter's speech similarly written? She, too, lived in Wyoming! The stories are well told, and I find the lead character, Sloane, a fairly sympathetic character. That is why I kept reading, despite my objections to Bradshaw's style.
I truly loved this series! A real page turner as they say! I can't say that I have a favorite out of the six...they were equally exciting and had me on the edge with every turn of a page! Sloane Monroe is an extraordinary character so well written she will be with me as one of my favorite heroines for a long time to come. Without her amazing ability to solve crimes as well as her fearless 'do what it takes' attitude...I don't believe the police would ever solve a case which makes her very unpopular with them. ALSO: What an incredible deal to be able to purchase them in a box set!! I really prefer to purchase a series this way to be sure that I am reading them in the order they were written.
Exciting mysteries, well written and plenty of suspense. And NO GRATUITOUS GRAPHIC SEX !!! How I hate it when a writer inserts pornographic language in an otherwise entertaining novel. And it was no wimpy, badly written Cozy Book. I like Sloan Monroe and moved by the depth of her personality. Feisty, outspoken, brave and driven. She had emotional issues like the rest of us. Commitment issues, personality issues, psychotropic medications like a lot of us. A girl after my own heart.
I love Cheryl Bradshaw's books. This is a very well written series with an intelligent and fearless PI. I couldn't put the books down and finished them in less than a week. I loved the characters development and the fact that there was minimal foul language and no explicit sex scenes.
What a great book. I love authors that bring their stories to life. You can almost see the characters and feel like they are really alive. I hope she doesn’t end the series after 6 books.
I bought the boxed set of Cheryl Bradshaw's Sloane Monroe series 1_6. The novels are compelling and dramatic. I bought the last novel in the series and I'm on to that one.
I read all 6 books in 4 days. I could not put it down. Cheryl brings you into Sloane's life from the time her sister is murdered till she finds the man she is supposed to be with. I normally do not read mysteries but I am so glad I read this set.
Finished all six books so far in this series, about Sloane, who is a PI, who solves all of her cases she takes on. The storyline in the books are outstanding, great characters and more twists and turns. Highly recommend reading!
Well, I just got through reading the first 6 books of this Sloan Monroe, PI series and I have to say I like this author’s style. The stories are great, love ‘em.
Not edge of seat novels but comfy ageless stories that make the characters feel real and the stories believable. You will never regret immersing yourself in this series.
Love all the characters in this series! Sloane Monroe, P.I. Love love her and who doesn’t want to identify with her? Didn’t stop reading until I had consumed the whole series, the books are THAT GOOD! Thank you, once again, Cheryl Bradshaw, for your creativity!!!
I enjoyed reading these series of books. Love mystery, suspense and love all wrapped into one story. And enjoyed the parts where Sloane does things her way and not always the lawful way, but she gets the job done.
Loved every story from start to finish. Couldn't stop myself from jumping into the next story right away. The characters are so real and exciting. The flow from one page to the next wouldn't allow me to take breaks. Buying the next two books already.
I loved reading this series. Sloane Monroe is a PI who doesn't give up and always solves her cases - but not without loses. As you go through the series, Sloane struggles with her personal relationships and the loss of her sister who was murdered.
Can she get past her loses and ever find herself and love?
Even though this book contains several novels or novellas, Sloane is always the leading character. She solves mysteries: murders, kidnappings; she is very good at what she does. Sometimes she gets burned out and has to take a break. The last book comes about at the end of one of those breaks. It's a good summer read. Hope you enjoy it!
