3 - "I hate to come and run, but..." Stars.

I am a big fan of Robin Covington, having recently discovered her work last year. And although I enjoyed Her Secret Lover it didn’t quite meet the expectations I have of this author.

”After you’ve shared a sex toy, you have to be on a first-name basis.”

The banter between Kelsey and Micah was pretty good, but I struggled to feel invested in the story for a large part of the book, the connection between them for me was as little weak, but what really grated was the whole secondary trope with the VIP customer.

”I am more than a pretty face and a big penis.”

The whole scenario just felt really cheesy and outdated to me, and took away from the whole Forbidden aspect of the relationship between this couple, which to be honest was enough and could have carried the story well if it had been made the main theme.

”Drop your clothes on the floor. You won’t be needing them anymore tonight.”

This isn’t a bad book, the Lovestruck line of books are in themselves meant to be light reads, and it certainly delivered in that aspect. I just have higher expectations of the author, Robin Covington is absolutely stellar when it comes to telling a story, building an emotional connection between a couple and providing them with steaming hot sexy times, and on this occasion she only really delivered the last point for me.

Friends - Can I tell you a secret? I've never been to Las Vegas! So, when Entangled asked to write a story set there. . . I got to work on the research. I talked to people who grew up there and weren't in the business on the "the Strip" and folks who worked in the casinos and hotels. But the thing that struck me when I talked to them was how anything goes in Las Vegas. . . so I went with it and had so much adding in kooky businesses and people. The sky was the limit.

Kelsey Kyle is a Vegas girl, a local woman who has the chance at her dream job. Micah Holmes is a combat wounded ex-Marine and a romance author with a rabid fan base who freak him out. She's his concierge so any hanky panky is not allowed. . .but nobody ever made it big in Vegas without rolling the dice!

ARC kindly provided by Entangled Publishing, LLC via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

This is the story of Kelsey and Micah. I really liked this book! The story was nice and the plot was moving fast. The writing was direct and pleasant. The book was written by a dual POV but it wasn't indicated in the beginning of each chapter whose POV and I got lost a couple of times.

Kelsey is amazing! She works in Vegas and knows everything about it! She has a passion for her job and the challenge is presents! I really liked her and her way of thinking!

Micah is shy but incredibly sexy! I liked that he had lots of layers and with every page I turned another level of his personality came up!

Their interactions were fantastic!

The end of the book was nice! There was also an epilogue and I loved that I could see what happens after! That was my first book from this series but it won't be my last!

I definitely recommend this book to everyone who like a good spicy romance!

An adorable sweet romance!!!!! I have read a few books from Robin Covington and I must say that Her Secret Lover hits the spot if you are looking for a light, quick, sexy romantic read. Ms. Covington has me smitten with this budding romance of a hotel concierge assistant and a NYT Bestselling romance author.

#HerSecretLover

Micah Holmes is in Las Vegas for a Romance Book Convention, where tons of romance readers would gather to meet their favorite authors. Micah Holmes a former Marine, now turned romance author has fans flocking to see him. He is consider the next Nicholas Sparks. And as one of the top-grossing romance authors, he is consider VIP in the publishing community. So when he meets the personal concierge assigned to him, he couldn't help his attraction to Kelsey Kyle.

Micah has written so many books on love but never really could say that he was really in love that is until Kelsey Kyle walked into his life. Kelsey knew she should stay away from Micah since she was putting her job on the line. But this connection was something Kelsey was willing to risk. As Kelsey and Micah entangles themselves in this heated, tangible and palpable connection, what happens when her boss finds out that she is mixing business with pleasure? And what happens when Micah discovers a secret that Kelsey is hiding? Can something so wrong feel so right? Micah has been writing stories with that HEA ending that his fans love, so will this author be writing his own HEA with Kelsey?

photo fe90d08f95bff824ce30531c8d8f30_zps5gnaqmhw.gif “It was fast. They were fast. Many people thought it was crazy, but they knew. Both he and Kelsey knew that what they’d been holding out for was living and breathing between them, and all they had to do is keep it alive. It was the easiest and the hardest thing he’d ever done, and it was worth it. He woke up every morning knowing that it was worth everything.”

Her Secret Lover was a fast paced romance that is light on angst in which I found refreshing with the story of Micah and Kelsey. I loved that author kept the story engaging and was able to show this intense connection that Micah and Kelsey felt for one another. I also loved that the author still added a bit of playfulness with the story when describing how signings can be both nerve-wrecking for both author and fans. So if you are looking for a romance that was fun, sexy and romantic, then I would definitely recommend this book. Thank you Ms. Covington for reminding us that we write our own story and happily ever after.

With instant attraction, rules to be kept or broken, a manipulative diva out to have her own way and a brilliant author and you just know this is going to be a great addition to the ‘What Happens in Vegas’ series!

This time, take a local lass, Kelsey Kyle, who is up for promotion at the hotel where she’s a concierge. Make it her job to ensure that one of the stars of the Vegas romance readers’ convention has everything he needs and then let him be her favourite hot romance author, an ex military man, a hunk who would really rather be somewhere else - in fact just about anywhere else - but definitely not at a romance writer’s convention with crying, adoring and manipulative fans! Have the two of them been instantly attracted to each other then throw in a manipulative man-eater who is out to have a very personal one-on-one experience with him and things just aren’t going to go smoothly!

Kelsey is a feisty, independent and innovative young lady, used to organising and getting things sorted. Micah is an enigma, a man capable of writing enthralling, romantic stories that are adored by readers but reticent about relating to them individually and with a traumatic experience of love that has left him personally wary, despite how he writes. The two are great, complex characters with plenty of angst and turmoil making them more believable. Kelsey’s friends are also great characters, especially Sabrina, though Lilah and Aidan are great, too - I hope my daughter will have brilliant friends like this in her life. The plot is well formed and developed, with plenty of history to keep the reader enthralled. If you like your romance to be steamy, your hero a nerdy, combat wounded ex-Marine hunk and your heroine a hardworking, determined and considerate young lady you’ll love this entertaining Vegas romance.

Thanks again to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for gifting me an ecopy of this book in exchange for this, my honest review.

So disappointed :( I loved the beginning of this book - the meet cute was one of the best I’ve read and I love that the hero writes romance novels. However, I didn’t love that he hates writing them. I much prefer books with authors who are romance novelists with pride instead of shame.

Also, the fact that the hero gets groped by the woman who the heroine is secretly trying to manipulate him into spending time with and she doesn’t immediately refuse to continue trying to set up a time for them to spend together was gross. She also implies that watching it happen was worse for her than it was for him?! I just kept thinking about what people would think if it was a man groping a woman and the hero had that response after watching it happen…

Every once in a while you run across an author who really has the knack for telling a story. From the very first page of this new release that I was able to review I knew that it was going to be a book that I would remember for a long time.

This is the first book I've read by this particular author but it certainly is not going to be the last. Robin Covington has crafted an amazing story that is smokin hot with characters that you just absolutely fall for. I can't really express what it is about the book that makes it so different. I love the twist on the Las Vegas story. I love the character development. I love the male lead with his sweet West Virginia manners, his shyness, and his ability to take romance to a whole different level. I love the fact that he's not afraid to recognize that this girl is different and someone special.

The author brings us an tantalizing story that takes love to a whole new level with steamy hot scenes that are oh, so memorable. Whew!

I don't even know how to explain what it is about this book that makes it stand out for me. Other than the authors skilled and detailed descriptions that transport you to another level. What I do know is I fell in love with this book! I fell in love with the authors writing and I fell in love with the fact that she wasn't afraid to develop characters that are cognizant of their feelings for one another regardless of the cost.

So if you're looking for a book that has every element romance readers love you've gotta check out this one I don't give five stars very often but this book has every element that I look for and it's not one to be missed.

I really enjoyed Her Secret Lover, it was sweet, fun and very entertaining read.

Loved both Kelsey and Micah, they were likable and well developed characters. They had amazing chemistry and their sexy times were HOT! *fans self*
The drama towards the end was handled well and I was very happy how it was resolved.

Overall Her Secret Lover was a well written romance with an entertaining storyline with great characters that will having you turning the pages until the end.

I highly recommend this book and if you've not had the pleasure of reading Robin Covington's work before I urge you to start now, love her writing and all her books have been very entertaining.

Kelsie and Micah met in the city of sin and got themselves a little piece of forbidden lovin. The book was good and I love the author but I've gotta say that this is not one of my favorites. Can't pinpoint exactly what it is but something was missing for me. It felt too much like they had just a physical connection more than anything emotional.

Kelsey Kyle is young and ambitious...she’s busy climbing the ranks at the Vegas hotel/casino she’s working at and is “this close” to securing a spot in the highly competitive management trainee program. All she needs to do to earn one of the hotel’s VIP customer’s recommendation is to arrange a one-on-one fan experience between the VIP’s wife and best-selling author Micah Holmes. Should be easy, since Kelsey’s been assigned as Micah’s personal concierge this week, right? Uh, wrong.

Micah Holmes is in hell. Or his version of hell. He’s at a one week romance reader’s convention—surrounded by hundreds of people. The only thing that’s making things okay is his concierge, Kelsey. There’s an immediate attraction, but client-employee relationships are grounds for immediate termination. Neither one can deny what’s between them—especially after their sexcapades at Kelsey’s apartment. But what happens when the truth comes out? Will their attraction be enough for Micah to look past Kelsey’s hidden agenda? Can Kelsey prove to Micah he means more than a promotion?

I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet, hella sexy and well written, if not a bit predictable. Both Kelsey and Micah were extremely likable—and hell, who doesn’t love the thought of hooking up with a hot romance author? It was a perfect afternoon escape read—get a snack and a drink because you’ll read this in one sitting. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

Robin Covington brings her reader a light sexy romance with a very likeable couple. Down-to-earth, introverted, successful romance author Micah Holmes has a following who be can somewhat overbearing and has him on a bit of a pedestal--a romance reader's convention is the last place he wants to be. Kelsey Kyle's job as hotel concierge is to keep her guests happy, whilst sticking to the no-fraternising policy. A huge fan herself, she's ever the professional but the chemistry between this couple is clear from the start.

description

Whilst their story didn't bring any particularly surprises and did have an air of predictability, it mattered not as the romance between this couple just carries you along. Her Secret Lover brings passion, humour and some moments that are touching; although not my favourite from Robin Covington, it is a worthwhile read and, with a good cast of secondary characters, I hope she treats us to more *coughAllencough*.

Her Secret Lover,  Robin Covington

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:   Romance

I’;m writing this review ahead of publication, its actually 24th December and yesterday I wanted something light and easy to read, something I knew I’d enjoy, that would take away a bit of Xmas stress....I’m sure lots know that feeling, not just Xmas but other family holiday times. Anyway, I knew I liked Robin’s writing style so this one came out first choice.

Its a fun read, perfect blend of hot and sensual romance with a hint of vulnerability from both leads. I loved Kelsey, love the way she was devoted to her sick mum and determined to help her dad support her. Getting the promotion to management training would make a huge difference. Then one of the hotels High Roller customers wants a one on one fan day for his wife with author Micah Holmes who’s staying there at a Romance Writers Convention. He hates publicity though, really struggles with that side of fame and has so far always refused to do a one on one day. If Kelsey can somehow swing it her promotion would be guaranteed, conversely its indicated that if she doesn’t get it fixed it won’t go well for her. They’re not a couple used to being turned down. They added yet another edge to the novel, I really enjoyed them as part of the story. Reminded me of some people I’ve met in the past!

Micah is lovely, a really genuine man, though jaded from his past experience with romance. Despite writing about True Love and making millions from it he doesn’t believe that for him at least it exists. Then he meets Kelsey, his assigned concierge for the duration of his stay – wow – what a great introduction they had. What an icebreaker – it made me snigger... a lot! The attraction on both sides is instant but they hide it, Kelsey because it’d mean she loses her job and she’s had bad past experiences, and Micah – well, he’s kind of gobsmacked and confused. He doesn’t usually get that kind of reaction to meeting someone.
Eventually of course they both admit their feelings, and they manage to covertly have some very sensual and erotic encounters, though they’ve both agreed its a short term just till Sunday fling, but both are feeling more than just attraction. Kelsey still has the fan day experience to arrange though, it never seems the right time to ask, and the closer they get the more she can’t bring herself to do it – but she really needs that promotion. It doesn’t help that the lady making the request is ....well, you’ll have to read but I loved it, and it added an edge to what seems like a simple request.
Of course secrets always come out at the wrong time, and what her friends had warned her about happens, and that leads to some intense drama and disaster for Kelsey. I love drama that plays out over time, that hits just at the right moment, right at the peak of attraction and developing feelings, and this was timed perfectly. I was waiting all the way through, thinking “ is this going to be where it gets out?” at several opportunities, but Robin keeps the reader waiting till the perfect time. I was so upset for both of them, what they had was special, more than just the attraction of lust.

Stars: Five,it’s a fun read, with some heat and drama in it. Its got a perfect ending too – fits really well with what had previously been discussed. I’m not sure I’d reread it but as a one off it was perfect for me.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

The more I read author Robin Covington the more I love her work and Her Secret Lover was simply fantastic. A smart, witty and ambitious woman, a man who is every bit as swoon worth as the heroes he writes and a connection they both try to ignore but cannot made this one engaging and extremely sexy love stories.

I love a strong heroine and Kelsey Kyle defines that word; she loves her job as a concerige and has ambitions of going into the management training program of the hotel she works at in her hometown of Las Vegas. She lives to please the clients she serves but when a very wealthy client and his wife ask for her help with a famous writer she is conflicted and the fact that she likes the man and admires his work only makes it more difficult.

Reader conventions are somewhat of a nightmare for Micah Holmes and while he appreciates his fans he really isn't sure how to relate or deal with them. While writing romance has made him wealthy and afforded him the life he enjoys he has ambitions of writing thrillers, but until he can make that a reality he knows interacting with his romance fans are a must. Having his personal concierge help him through the convention is great, but Kelsey makes him want more something he hasn't wanted from a woman in a long time.

First off I really appreciated this couple's first meeting and the way they both handled it with humor and style but man the sparks flying between them were obvious from the start. I appreciated that Kelsey tried to keep her distance knowing that becoming involved with Micah could get her fired, but I loved that she was good with accepting responsibility for her actions should something happen. Kelsey was tough, having had her heart stomped on more than once by a tourist she didn't want a repeat but there was something about Micah that made her push the boundaries and Micah was very boundary pushing worthy. I loved that Micah thought he was nothing like the characters in his book but that he proved time and time again he could be. While at times his dirty talking felt a little over the top for him, there was no denying the intensity and the heat between them and their sexual encounters were wild, fun, sensual and intense. More than that though, I love how much they both respected each other professionally and personally.

It was crazy how easily these two meshed both in and out of the bedroom and how Kelsey was able to understand from the start Micah's hang-ups about meeting fans and worked to help make it better for him and it was fun watching him realize how much his fans adored him and how his books gave them comfort and pleasure.

For a lover of romance I adored the way these two met, the intensity of their feelings and the way they worked out a future that worked for both of them. Her Secret Lover was simply a fantastic romance from start to finish.

Hot, sexy, and sweet!!!
Micah Holmes can be my secret lover anytime!!! He's a very successful romance writer, sexy as sin, a former marine (yum!), southern gentleman, and I LOVED his dirty talk! HOT. AS. HELL!!! What's not to love?! Micah is in Vegas at a romance writers convention, which is definitely not his idea of a picnic. One look at his concierge that will be assisting him for the entire time has him thinking it won't be so bad after all.....
Kelsey Kyle, a hotel concierge who is looking to be promoted so she can help pay for her mother's care, has been given a challenge that could ensure her the position in the management trainee program. The moment she meets Mr. Holmes, she is unable to deny their attraction to each other and is hoping that it works in her favor to ensure her promotion. However, she is determined to keep things strictly professional.
As the sparks fly and the passion ignites, the lines get blurred and before Kelsey and Micah realize it, they are both in over their heads. When Micah realizes Kelsey's first intentions, things get turned upside down. Will he be able to forgive her or hear her out?
Absolutely loved this book. This story has is it all and was a truly enjoyable read! Looking forward to reading more from this author and series!

Loved it!! A great addition to the What Happens in Vegas series of books. This one is quick, fun, and so damn hot! Micah is shy, reserved, and the most sought after author at the romance convention. Pretty funny since he doesn't believe in romance anymore. The last thing he wants to do is spend more time then he has to with the conventioneers. With Kelsey, his personal concierge, by his side though things are a bit more calm and bearable. Too bad she has that strictly professional vibe going on. Things change though when Kelsey finds herself needing to convince Micah to participate in something she knows he wants no part of. How far will she go for the job??? Or is that just her excuse?

Great read. I highly recommend it.

“Sensual, erotic, lustful, emotional, Her Secret Lover was a delight to my senses. The characters enthralled me, the storyline engaged me, the love story entranced me. Ms Covington you have done it again.

As is sometimes the case with me, I jump right into a book not realizing, till I am hooked, that it is halfway through a series. Even though this is #11 is the series, they are all standalone and are written by different authors.

What do you do when faced with the choice of something you've always wanted professionally vs. something you never knew you wanted personally? Something you're quickly learning is essential to your happiness?

Kelsey, a Junior Concierge, is personally in charge of writer Micah Holmes during his stay while he's attending a book event hosted at the hotel she works for. She's a big fan of his work and has always found him adorkably attractive. (Yes, I created a word. It fits him.) Upon introducing herself to him, their mutual attraction is obvious and their flirty banter is verbal foreplay. Thank goodness Kelsey has that big box of sex toys with her. Wait, what? LOL Okay, that's just a coincidence as she's on her way to deliver them to the representatives of a sex toy company and of course, the box breaks and the toys go everywhere. What could be a very awkward situation becomes funny instead and Micah and Kelsey fall a little deeper, now leaning towards the "I really like you" category.

Kelsey has never had a problem putting her job first as she desperately needs the income to help her Dad pay for her Mom's medical care and she likes her job. So when Mr. and Mrs. Forsach, Saul and Baracuda, err Babette, request a day with Micah, her favorite author, everyone easily assumes Kelsey will make it happen. But Kelsey makes it very clear that Micah has repeatedly refused that option and she can't meet their request. Saul, who caters to his new wife's every wish, offers to help Kelsey get into a concierge management position, something Kelsey has dreamed of, if she'll use her position to change Micah's mind. However, this time she's torn because she genuinely likes Micah and knows how strongly he feels about his decision. Psst...it's quickly crystal clear that Babette doesn't want an interview with him, but she does want to become very acquainted with him. No wink, wink here. She's a Micah hungry shark and he's not interested at all. However, he is very interested in Kelsey and vice versa, but the rules state no employee/guest relationships are permitted. *stupid rules*

As Micah and Kelsey decide they can no longer fight this attraction (cue REO Speedwagon's "I Can't Fight this Feeling." Ha. You're welcome for the earworm.) they decide that Micah needs a tour guide and Kelsey offers to be his guide after work. Now I'll wink, wink, as they're essentially going on a date, yet camouflaging it as work. Very sneaky people. Nicely done. As they grow closer and closer, Kelsey continually feels guilty over not talking to Micah about the request, even though she knows she won't use their relationship to help Babette, who wants to devour Micah.

Of course, we all know this has to backfire and Micah will think Kelsey is just like everyone else, wanting something from him, instead of wanting him for himself. After a beautiful and emotional night together, Kelsey doesn't make the necessary stealth exit she needs to from his hotel room. Yeah, you know trashy woman, I mean Babette, spots her and quickly tattles to the boss. Saul and Babette are willing to let everything slide if Micah gives Babette what she wants. Kelsey refuses as she loves Micah and will not let Babette touch him. So, bye bye job. But Kelsey is at peace with her decision because she realizes Micah was always more important.

So now what happens? Is this the end of Micah and Kelsey? What happens when Micah finds out Kelsey was fired even though she was offered a chance to save her job at Micah's expense? Will Micah understand that she made a mistake and that she truly loves him? Will Micah take a chance, personally and professionally? Will Kelsey find the true job of her dreams working for her favorite author? You know what they say, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."But will Micah be happy staying in Vegas?

I highly recommend this story as it brings the feels. It's cute and definitely worth a read. My fingers are crossed that Robin will write books for Kelsey's best friends, Aiden, Sarina, and Lilah, and Micah's friend and agent, George. So go one-click this book now. Happy reading.

HER SECRET LOVER is one reason why Ms. Covington's books are such a delight to read. An embarrassing but funny first meeting, strong characters who mesh from the get-go and the perfect balance of sweet and steamy are just some of what I enjoyed about this book.

Kelsey Kyle is smart and ambitious, with plans for her future that would take her straight to the top. As a concierge, she's always up for the challenge of providing her VIP clients with the best experience of their stay in Vegas. When a client requests one-on-one time with her favorite romance author in exchange for providing Kelsey with a reference for the management trainee program she's had her eye on, Kelsey is willing to pull out the stops to make it happens. At least until she gets a dose of the tall, dark and sexy Micah Holmes.

Getting up close and personal with hundreds of his fans at a convention is the least exciting part of his career as a romance writer but one look at his assigned concierge gives him hope that the experience won't be so bad. Unfortunately, the company's strict no-fraternization with clients policy means that Kelsey risks losing her job if she gets involved with Micah but it's a risk she's willing to take. Throw in the pressure from the sleazy, scheming client and a perfect storm of trouble is about to be unleashed.

I really liked this story, especially the characters and how in tune they were with each other, both at work and at play. I like that while Micah had served as a Marine, he wasn't portrayed as a jacked-up, muscled commando, but that he was a brilliant author able to thrill his readers with his writing but slightly shy and protective of his privacy. Kelsey is a strong heroine in every sense of the word. She's independent and really dedicated to her job, and in spite of having been burned in previous relationships, she was willing to get back in the game and even take risks when she found a good thing.

The connection between Kelsey and Micah was intense, the banter was fun but the passion between them was hot enough to set my tablet on fire. After reading so many books about damaged characters who fight their feelings because of past hurts, it's refreshing to read one where those past hurts don't result in self-sabotage. The best thing about this book for me was that even though both Micah and Kelsey had had bad experiences with love, their past was not the driving force behind the choices they made in their present.

HER SECRET LOVER checks off all the right boxes for a sweet and fun romance for me and I'll recommend it to anyone looking for something like that.

HER SECRET LOVER is a quick, light, entertaining read that I couldn't put down. If the gorgeous cover isn't enough to hook you, the superb opening line certainly will:

"Who knew a box of dildos would weigh so much?"

Yeah... once I read that, I knew it was time to grab a bottle of wine and settle in for a sexy tale with a lot of laughs. Robin Covington did not disappoint.

Micah absolutely hates writing romance novels because they don't show the misery that can happen after the epilogue. (True, but whatevs.) The problem is that he's really good at it. Like best-selling, Nicholas Sparks-level, screaming and crying fans good. Oh, and he also hates crowds and one-on-one time with those fans. He's kind of a boyishly charming beta male (y'all know I love my Betas!) who really lets loose when he's comfortable.

Kelsey won't let herself fall for someone because she's been burned. A lot. She throws herself into her job, which she is also very good at, and has high goals for herself. In other words: the perfect modern heroine. She saves Micah's ass numerous times and that makes me love her.

The romantic plot here is totally plausible. The ultimate meet-cute with instant attraction that they both fight, Kelsey much more than Micah. It's paced well for a shorter novel (about 150 pages) and I love the writing. I also loved all of the side characters, particularly Kelsey's friends Sarina and Aiden. This is my first experience with the "What Happens in Vegas" line from Entangled Lovestruck so I'm not exactly sure, but my fingers are crossed that these two were being set up for them each to have their own books.

This takes place during a romance readers' convention in Vegas so I asked the author for a guest post on survival tactics. You can find that here.

This is a page turner. The best contemporary romance novel I've read this year. Kelsey and Micah have undeniable chemistry and I loved their characters. This is a love story of a famous romance writer and his concierge during his stay at a hotel in Vegas. Both are wary of the opposite sex but decided to take a chance on each other, not a good idea considering how busy Micah is with his book and how Kelsey can lose her job if their affair becomes known at the hotel. Her carrier will be in danger.

Kelsey is very good at her job and she happens to enjoy it too. She is the best in her hotel and whenever there is any difficult guests in residence she is the one who handles them. This time though things she might not be able to deal with the situation without getting hurt. Her job is simple to keep the guests happy. Sometimes it isn't as easy as it may sound. Some guests just ask for the impossible things. Right now she is dealing with one such guest. The problem is that this time her heart is on the line as well...

Micah is an introvert. He likes to keep to himself which isn't easy considering that he has hoards of fans every where. That is a con of being a famous romance writer. As much as he loves his fans it is not easy for him to spend one on one time with them. as long as he has a script he can stick to it's all good but as soon as things get real he becomes nervous. But this time Kelsey is there to help him. She has become more than his go-to girl and now there might be more at stake than just his comfort...

A beautifully written romance novel, this is a must read for all book lovers.

I loved this story! This is a story that will make you laugh and get you hot! The Heroine Kelsey, is a junior concierge at a Las Vegas hotel where they are having a romance convention. The hero, Micah, is the romance author she is assigned to help for the convention. The heroine is told that she needs to get Micah to agree to a one on one romance excursion with a VIP of the hotel and she will get to join the management trainee program she wants. She agrees but that's before she meets Micah. Let the shenanigans ensue from there!
This book was great! It was funny, steamy, and also endearing. I loved Micah! He is my favorite kind of hero. Sweet, sensitive, funny and sexy. He is also an introvert and awkward in public, which I totally relate to. Kelsey is more outgoing but she is perfect for Micah. They have great chemistry right from the start. The story was very well written and extremely entertaining.
This book is definitely worth reading and I'm glad I got to read it. I was given this ARC for an honest review.

I love the premise of the this story!! I mean you can't go wrong with a sexy, sweet story about a romance writer and the woman who catches his eye but is keeping a stupid secret that could break his heart and ruin the idea of love once and for all.
Micah was a perfect blend of awkward and confident. I can totally appreciate a guy who isn't a super cocky manwhore but also isn't an inexperienced nerd who suddenly finds the hidden sex god within because of a woman. If you add in the fact that he writes romance novels for a living, Micah is exactly the type of man women want for real, which makes him a perfectly written book boyfriend.

A perfect addition to this series of standalones that take place during the Romance Writers conference in Las Vegas this story was sweet with very little angst and the perfect amount of heat. It was a fast paced, light-hearted read that put a smile on my face and, for that alone, it gets my seal of approval.

Kelsey took the biggest gamble in Vegas and lost it all. Micah tried his luck and rolled snake eyes.

That is how you can describe the budding relationship of the concierge and NY Times Bestselling Romance writer. Lust at first, Hi. The eyes of the snake tried and temporarily succeeded to ruin it all. It took one request for the truth to be revealed and the hunt for a jackpot to get underway. Use what you write about to win the girl like your heroes, Micah. Oh, and do it with flare in the middle of a sexy toy shop. That works wonders, that is what got the laughter rolling in the first place.

This was a nice romance and was steamy and fun. The heartwarming truth in a form of brushing hair and reading a book that calms even the most disturbed soul. Vegas conventions should be this fun.

What a wonderful what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas story.

Micah is very sexy, ex-military now romance story writer is in Vegas to attend the romance writers convention. Kelsey is enlisted as his concierge for his time there. Instant attraction but Kelsey doesn't blur the lines and follows the rules when it comes to no fraternizing with the guests. Well that is until Micah makes her an offer she can't refuse and to help fulfill another guests request.

The heat these two give off could cause global warming in Vegas. But of course this is not the whole story and in order to get that you really will want to pick up this book for yourself.
Great characters, a nice back story to further acquaint us with our main characters and an ending that is sure to please.

What’s not to love about a romance writer, who’s an ex-Marine, who actually blushes and is a perfect gentleman! And sexy as hell! Robin Covington has written a sexy and beautiful love story with two fabulously engaging characters. Kelsey and Micah are a superb couple with so much chemistry, it’s almost literally palpable. HER SECRET LOVER is one of the loveliest contemporary romances I have read recently. There are no distressing issues, nobody’s tortured, and the relationship is respectful and so tender and loving. Micah is a modern Prince Charming; just beautiful!

Take one adorably shy romance writer who would rather be writing thrillers, one concierge who will do what it takes to further her career, add in a romance readers convention, a trophy wife who won’t take no for an answer and chemistry hot enough to start a fire and you get Robin Covington’s latest must read Her Secret Lover.

I loved this book from the opening line that had me laughing out loud, seriously, “Who knew a box of dildos would weigh so much?” to the last that had me finishing it with a big fat happy sigh. I will never pass up a book by this author and this one again showed me why. Be prepared to fall head over heels for Micah. I know I did.

This is a hot, fun, hot and touching read that will you will not want to put down once you start.

“Move it, or my friends are going to get an up-close-and-personal view of your junk.” “What? Are you afraid that if they get a look at my personal assets you might have a fight on your hands?”

Micah the hotter than hades writer who is in town for a convention and to get his book done. Sounds easy enough right? Not so much when you he is an introvert and no longer wants to write the stories that made him famous. So he is assigned a concierge for the week to help him but one look at the beautiful woman that appears at his door and things start to look more tolerable. One touch and he’s lost.

“Oh yeah, you want it as much as I want to give it to you.” “Micah,” she said panting against his cheek as he lifted his head and nuzzled her neck, licking and tasting the sensitive skin just below her ear. “I want this.”

For concierge extraordinaire Kelsey, no request is too hard to fill. If she can accomplish it, she will. She wants in on an exclusive training program and will go the extra mile to get there. Even if it means dealing with a Barbie trophy wife’s demands she meets her favourite author. Good thing she has just been assigned as his personal concierge for the week. But all it takes is one meeting with him for plans to change.

“Kelsey, I need you.” Oh that was so good to hear because she felt like she was drowning in her own want, sinking into a riptide that she was powerless to resist.

Though Kelsey is forbidden to follow through on the instant attraction to Micah, they find a way around it and soon lines are crossed and clothes flung as they give into the passion that sparks whenever they are near each other, Consequences be damned. But what was meant to be a fling quickly turns into more than either expected. Something precious and worth fighting for.

But when the truth of what is really happening between Micah and Kelsey comes out and harsh words are spoken, can a grovel worthy of the hero Micah writes and Kelsey loves to read win her back or was it really meant to be just a fling?

There is so much to love about this book from Micah and Kelsey to her friends (a bunch that I want as friends), to Perry, Kelsey’s boss who I wanted to kick till the last part of the book. And there is one moment in particular that will melt you heart and panties. If you aren’t falling for Micah by then you will be after. I’m still swooning over it.

There’s no surprise that this book is going on my keeper shelf, anything Robin Covington writes does. I have my fingers crossed that my new favourite friends Sarina, Lilah and Aidan all get their stories, greedy I know but they need a HEA too.

This fun and sexy romance, part of the What Happens in Vegas series (all standalone titles) takes place at a romance writer's convention and is the story of Micah and Kelsey. Micah is a bestselling romance author, here at the convention at the request of his agent Allen when he'd much rather be in his small country town than Sin City. Truth be told, he'd like to branch out into military thrillers but his success has been built on his romance books and he's in a quandary over what to do. Kelsey is a junior concierge at the hotel where he's staying, and assigned as his personal assistant for his stay. One look, and they are in insta-lust. But of course, Kelsey can't date (or sleep with) a guest of the hotel without risking her job. Not only that, but she's been tasked with convincing Micah to have an intimate meet and greet with a high rolling hotel guest, something he personally dislikes and tries to avoid (not to mention that the guest herself is rather obnoxious). Can Kelsey afford the risks to getting involved with Micah? And what happens when the weekend is over and he's supposed to head home?

I quite enjoyed this story! I like the setup of the romance convention and I've enjoyed the other titles in the series, featuring all sorts of different characters at the convention (from authors to bodyguards to attendees, etc) by equally talented authors. The plot is somewhat predictable - you know the conflict will be due to Kelsey's job and her assignment. Both characters are attracted to each other right from their first meeting. The result is some super steamy scenes between them as they connect. But more than that, they develop a solid friendship too, and are willing to share other parts of their life with each other. I liked how their relationship developed, fast as it is.

There are great secondary characters in the story too. Micah's agent Allen was funny and gave us a bit of the bromance that is popular in romance novels these days. And Kelsey's friends were equally fun, including Sarina, her best friend who owns a sex shop (which added to the romantic comedy bits with the scenes involving sex toys (not their use in this case, just their abundance). I also really appreciated that the cover reflected the couple in the story! This was an enjoyable, lighthearted and entertaining story. 4 stars.

Micah stood close to her, his head dipped to look her in the eye. Kelsey felt the urge to lean into him, wanted to feel the solidity of the muscles she could see outlined under his shirt and jeans, and it must have shown in her eyes because he shuffled forward until their thighs and chests brushed against each other. She sucked in a soft inhale when the tips of her breasts tightened at the contact.
It had been a very long time since she’d stood so close to such a hot guy, and even longer since she had found one she actually liked. Micah Holmes might not think he was like the heroes in his book, but he was pretty damn close.

Kelsey Kyle will do whatever it takes to get into the management trainee program at the casino where she works. So when she’s given the opportunity to get a VIP customer’s endorsement for the program, she jumps at the challenge. All she needs to do is arrange a one-on-one fan experience with the woman’s favorite author, tall-dark-and-intense Micah Holmes.

An entire week at a Vegas romance readers’ convention, surrounded by hundreds of people, is Micah Holmes’ idea of hell. But one look at Kelsey, his assigned hotel concierge, and the attraction is immediate. Maybe this week won’t be so bad after all…

Anything beyond a “strictly professional” relationship will get Kelsey fired, but she needs to get close to Micah to get the super fan experience her client wants. Hot sex in her apartment pool begins a game of “undercover lover” that quickly escalates to something more. But when Micah discovers her secret agenda, all bets are off.

Review:

I have read other stories by this Author and I know I can count on them to be fun to read and sexy. This is no exception.

First thing, I love that the hero is a romance writer. It brings all kind of fun scenarios and that he is more of an introvert makes scenes where he is interacting with his adoring fans more fun to read. He is a true romantic at heart, but was burned by his first wife so he is a little cautious. Kelsey is cautious from past burns too, plus she has her job to loose if she fraternizes with clients. Micah and Kelsey together are sexy and the chemistry is palpable. Having been to a few RT conventions, I found it fun that it is centered around a romance convention and that the next RT is in Vegas made it more fun for me to read. The dialog that the Author uses for her characters is fun to read and that is a big attraction for me when reading a book. This is as a stand-alone and I won't go into a lot of the plot, just because it is a shorter read.

On a side note, I love the cover and wish I had the body to wear that dress!

This truly is a sexy, fun, romantic, quick read. This Author is one of my auto-buys and recommend this read.

4Stars
