“It was fast. They were fast. Many people thought it was crazy, but they knew. Both he and Kelsey knew that what they’d been holding out for was living and breathing between them, and all they had to do is keep it alive. It was the easiest and the hardest thing he’d ever done, and it was worth it. He woke up every morning knowing that it was worth everything.”

Five Very Happy Quills!!
HER SECRET LOVER is a quick, light, entertaining read that I couldn't put down. If the gorgeous cover isn't enough to hook you, the superb opening line certainly will:
"Who knew a box of dildos would weigh so much?"
Yeah... once I read that, I knew it was time to grab a bottle of wine and settle in for a sexy tale with a lot of laughs. Robin Covington did not disappoint.
Micah absolutely hates writing romance novels because they don't show the misery that can happen after the epilogue. (True, but whatevs.) The problem is that he's really good at it. Like best-selling, Nicholas Sparks-level, screaming and crying fans good. Oh, and he also hates crowds and one-on-one time with those fans. He's kind of a boyishly charming beta male (y'all know I love my Betas!) who really lets loose when he's comfortable.
Kelsey won't let herself fall for someone because she's been burned. A lot. She throws herself into her job, which she is also very good at, and has high goals for herself. In other words: the perfect modern heroine. She saves Micah's ass numerous times and that makes me love her.
The romantic plot here is totally plausible. The ultimate meet-cute with instant attraction that they both fight, Kelsey much more than Micah. It's paced well for a shorter novel (about 150 pages) and I love the writing. I also loved all of the side characters, particularly Kelsey's friends Sarina and Aiden. This is my first experience with the "What Happens in Vegas" line from Entangled Lovestruck so I'm not exactly sure, but my fingers are crossed that these two were being set up for them each to have their own books.
Micah stood close to her, his head dipped to look her in the eye. Kelsey felt the urge to lean into him, wanted to feel the solidity of the muscles she could see outlined under his shirt and jeans, and it must have shown in her eyes because he shuffled forward until their thighs and chests brushed against each other. She sucked in a soft inhale when the tips of her breasts tightened at the contact.
It had been a very long time since she’d stood so close to such a hot guy, and even longer since she had found one she actually liked. Micah Holmes might not think he was like the heroes in his book, but he was pretty damn close.
