A MESSAGE FROM THE AUTHOR:
I've always loved science fiction, fantasy, and horror, but it wasn't until I combined them with pulp thrillers and noir that I found my voice as an author. I want to leave my readers breathless, want them to feel the desperate longing, the hope and fear my heroes experience as they struggle not just to survive, but to become something more.

According to the author, there is only one rule about writing male characters. The rule is: do not show weakness. The author does a good job providing examples of what showing weakness means and what being tough looks like. He uses the Die Hard vs. American Beauty example in the differences between tough men and weak men. Like writing realistic women, you want your characters to develop to remain interesting and make the novel powerful.

Great craft book!

Resources come in handy for your story. He explains the difference between Die Hard and American Beauty male heroes. Do you want a fairytale character or one more down to earth? He can show you how to make your men realistic.

This is a short guide on how to write men as they really are and not how most women perceive them. The author talks a lot about weakness, conflicts and how men respond to that differently than women. For a female author, this is a good book to read if you need a way into a man’s psyche.
That said, only around 30% of the book is about the subject at hand. Promos for other books take up the rest of the 70%.

Everything You Need to Know. This is a fantastic help book with a lot of insights on how to write realistic men. Jackson Dean Chase explains different ways to present male characters so that they're not flat or one-dimensional. He does it in an easy to read and understanding way to get into a male character's head. This book covers everything you need to know to create strong male characters. I highly recommend it for authors, blog writers, and English students.

Rip off

Less than 40% of this book is about how to write about men. The majority is a bunch of ads for the author 's other works.
