Above the Tearoom is a pleasant romance telling the story of the ever-changing relationships between inhabitants of a single, urban, neighborhood building. The ground floor is a restaurant colloquially named ‘the tearoom’. The second floor is headquarters to the building’s oldest resident: loveable, elderly-busybody Mrs. Stubin. The third floor has bachelor, player and banker Peter Lincoln. The 83,000 word novel is driven by the story of two painters sharing the studio/apartment on the fourth floor: Sarah Fergusson, who’s struggling to find her place in the art world, and Roberg, who’s recently been blessed with the success Sarah can only dream about. Friends and colleagues working closely together often discover more complications then either anticipated. The lives of those living above the tearoom, and a few others who are drawn in as well, are interwoven in funny, interesting, sexy and sometimes even frightening ways. Tensions build as relationships become more and more entangled and confused, culminating in an almost farcical climax. The characters living above the tearoom are sure to make you smile, and maybe even laugh right out loud.
