Right from chapter one, I was drawn in. The writing in this story is beautiful! Everything is so well described that you're in the book with the characters, watching everything unfold. It flows so well that it's really difficult to put down.

I love a good paranormal romance but this was jist so much more with its mysterious Elusti and action right from the beginning. Ella is a strong, badass woman despite everything she's been through (trying not to give any spoilers) and her relationship with the tough Marcus is one of my favourites. I really can't wait to read the next one!

This is one of the best paranormal books I have read. It is a captivating, exciting, thrilling romance complete with mercenaries and so much more. It is about Ella who is a soul-shifter who has lived 4 times before in a span of 500 years and this will be her last life unless she finds her true mate and to complicate matters she is accused of murder and chased by FBI agent Marcus. The plot is so well developed and there is so much to this story and you are continually learning more about the characters. The love scenes are so beautiful and fit the characters so well. I loved how this book ended and really look forward to reading the rest of the series. It is my favorite paranormal story. I adore this amazing author and love her work.

Capturing the Last Welsh Witch is the story of Ella and Marcus, a story that spans time and space. Ella is not who she seems to be. Ella is from the clan of Ariana, and is a being that has lived before. She has always had flashbacks from her prior lives. She is well aware of her incarnations prior to this one.

The book opens with Ella in the thick of it with a very bad man. She comes to battered and bruised, aware of having had an altercation, much of which she can't recall right away. Vampires and Soul-Shifters and Witches, oh my!

Her memory comes back to her in bits and frightening pieces, as she tries to figure out how she got to where she was and hey, what the hell happened, anyway?

She is soon joined by Marcus, the FBI agent assigned to bring her in. There are multiple layers to his being as well, of which, unlike Ella, he is only just becoming aware.

Their lives intertwine and are underwritten by a tumultuous love story, as they both try to figure out who they are to each other, and what to do with that knowledge once they have it. At the same time that Ella is running from The Elusti, Marcus in running toward them, adding to the tension in the story.

welsh witch

Ella's sad story is that all of the men in her prior lives have betrayed her, leading to disastrous outcomes. Now she has to decide if past history will predict the present situation, or if she can risk trusting a man.

Marcus is faced with a moral dilemma that many of us have also faced on the job. Should he follow the orders from his supervisor that make no sense, or follow his gut? And just like in real life, when he follows his gut, his true path emerges.

Full disclosure: there is a little more violence in this book than I usually let into my comfort zone, but the nice love story made it worthwhile.

The best quote in the book is this one, said to Marcus by his mother Josephine (p. 84):

"Listen with your heart, not your mind."

Side note: The references to Wells (my town!), Maine definitely made me happy. YAY! WELLS! The friendliest town in Maine!

The last welsh witch is about a woman named Ella has lived and relived betrayals but this time her life goes differently. She is on the run for her life after possibly committing murder. When she meets Marcus. J.M Davis does a really good job with keeping you entertained with the story. I enjoyed how Davis portrayed the chemistry between Ella and Marcus. I recommend it and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Great story

I enjoyed this book. I didn't really like the sex scenes because the words used just seemed weird to me. But that's just my opinion. I loved the characters and the story.

Good story not sold on the characters

So I was really captured by the story
Basically Ella Masters is a soul shifter who’s 500 years old trying to survive the curse the the men in her life will cause her death and have done previously
It’s not clear if she reincarnated (ie reborn) or changes like doctor who because it kind of references both subtly
And that’s kind of my main issue with the story
It’s not really clear like her original incarnation I assumed was lady Elizabeth because she goes back to where it started which was that incarnation but that doesn’t tally with the story line
She’s also classed as the last witch but she meets another witch
And her personality changes a bit so at first i thought she was scrappy and bright then she becomes mopey and running away constantly
I loved the flashback and some of the sex scenes but it became repetitive

Ella Masters’s soul is five hundred years old and in each life, she has been fatally betrayed by men. I mean, come on, if this line doesn't capture you're attention, you must be dead!
Anyway, Ella Masters’s is wanted for the murder of her latest boyfriend and on the run from the FBI, as well as the ruthless group the Elusti, it doesn’t bode well for any would-be suitors.
Marcus Drayton has a sixth sense when it comes to knowing people, which has helped in his career as a special agent for the FBI, as well as his previous stint as a Navy SEAL. His latest assignment is to deliver Ella Masters. What could go wrong, right?
Paranormal romance isn't a genre that I usually read, but this was an exception. Great read.

He was a powerhouse, a force to be reckoned with when it came to getting what he wanted and he didn’t play fair.

I read the prequel before this book, and I was pleasantly surprised at some of the reveals that happened in this book that started in that one. Marcus and Ella complimented each other very well, and the dangerous adventure they went on together often had me on the edge of my seat. I never knew what would happen next. The author did a great job at continuously surprising me.

Capturing the Last Welsh Witch set up an interesting plot for the rest of the series, and I’d be interested to know how the rest of it unfolds. For those who like a contemporary romance with a supernatural twist, this is a great book for you.

Paranormal romance isn't a genre that I usually read, but this was a fun and exciting novel, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys action-filled, sexy romances.

Kudos to J.M. Davies on a great book!

Must read

This book was incredible, just loved reading Ella and Marcus journey to find each other. It was also incredibly hot, I couldn't put this book down. My favorite part is when Ella tricked the new recruit. Ella's fighting spirit after all she has seen in her life is inspiring.

I enjoyed this book. I'm intrigued by the shadowy Elusti and what diabolical plans they have for Ella.
Ella and Marcus has chemistry and I enjoyed their scenes together. I would have liked to have seen them bond more - at times it seemed as if it was just a sexual relationship. Hopefully, we'll see more of a emotional relationship in book 2!

Loved this book!

I absolutely loved this story! Ella is very unique, strong fmc. She had lived several different lives and each life a man has betrayed her. This is her last life to find her true love. There is action in this book and never a dull moment. I didn't want the story to end.

Ella's Masters has unknown powers and her life is in jeopardy and she has had five lives and each ended in a horrible death and in this life it will be her last unless she meets her true soul mate. Marcus Drayton FBI agent wants to arrest her of suspected murder but then changes his mind and vows to protect her. I really loved this book and plan to read more of this series.

Written well, but the description didn't say erotica. I enjoy a good erotica as the next person, but that was not what I thought the book was going to be centred around. Would not have purchased if I knew this was the case. It has what I would like to say is a good concept, but I don't truly believe what I am saying. I did read all the way through, as I bought it and can't really return it on my kindle, and I was kind of hoping for more story. There was more sex in it than story.

And if anything, she used her powers, what? Once at the start then once at the end, and once in a memory? Thought it would be more magical. But no. I will not be downloading the next book. Thank you.

If you are a fan of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, you will love this book. In a smart move by the author, the physical relationship that was lacking between awkward Bella and old-fashioned Edward, you will find between the buxom Ella and chiseled Marcus in Capturing the Last Welsh Witch.
The heat between the two main characters is undeniable and tantalizing. The plot is fun: attractive girl on the run for a crime she may or may not have committed, smoldering, dark-haired guy on her tail (both literally and figuratively), throw in a dangerous and shadowy government agency, add a dash of special powers and unique bloodlines and you have yourself a recipe for one heck of a fun read.
Author J.M. Davies does a wonderful job weaving the growing tension between her characters with lush descriptions that allow the scenes to unfold quite enjoyably in your mind’s eye. The crisp, believable dialogue flows well throughout the book, keeping the reader entertained and the story moving forward at a fast clip.
Capturing the Last Welsh Witch is a must-read for paranormal romance fans and especially those who grew up reading Twilight and have matured into wanting more adult fun for their characters. Fill your heart with Ella and Marcus and you’ll soon be forgetting all about Bella, Edward and… oh, yeah… Jacob.

I've got a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I bought it in a bookstore in Salem cause I liked the cover and read the back. Then I looked at the reviews and saw 'if you like twilight you'll love this' and instantly assumed I'd hate it. It wasn't as bad as I imagined, but it wasn't amazing. The Main Love Interest is creepy, and his dialogue is awful. He isn't AS bad as Edward, but he's still one of those possessive men that you can easily see slipping into abusive.

I don't mind the supernatural sexual attraction thing, I've read it a lot, but I feel like the author gives nothing to the pairing other than they like having sex. Perhaps this is something explored in the in the future books. I simply didn't care about them being together. It just seemed Main Love Interest was awful and Leading Lady could do better.

The sex scenes are very good, and I absolutely love the author's writing style. The descriptions are very beautiful.

The plot kind of gets buried under the sex and the last few chapters feel like I'm reading the next the book, but overall I did like enjoy it.

I so enjoyed this book from Jennifer. I was so intrigued with how she brought two souls back together, after many lifetimes apart. Ella is such a strong woman and meeting Marcus changes her whole world. She grew up not being able to trust any one, then finds out the one she trusted the most, once again, was only planning on using her or killing her. Marcus was assigned to bring her in, but little did he know that he was working for the people who were trying to use Ella's ability for their own twisted reasons.

When your heart meets it's soul mate, nothing can keep you apart. I think Marcus and Ella both discovered they were always meant to be together, while at the same time denying themselves the possibility of happiness, forever.

Such a great read for romance and intrigue, with a little covet operations thrown in. I hope Jennifer writes more about the Orion group!
