Understanding Statistics

Rate this book
An excellent new text which meets the A-level requirements of Statistics as a subject in its own right and as a part of Mathematics. Also a very thorough introduction to the subject for students in higher education who need a grounding in Statistics related to other disciplines. The book is written in a friendly style, with lively text, interesting contexts, and potted biographies of significant mathematicians. A huge number of worked examples and exercises, and over 80 projects, give students the confidence to put theory into practice.

It has got few new topics that are not covered in "Introducing Statistics" by the same authors. It is very useful for students taking further math or reading in those disciplines that requires grounding of statistics.
