I have to admit, I was not expecting much out of A Sissy Diary after the first few pages. It seemed like just another story of a self-hating crossdresser and his cruel, unforgiving wife. As much as I love stories of female domination, I do get tired of seeing sissies cruelly punished for something that should be a pleasure.
Fortunately, Shaun Putaine shares that disdain for the cliche, redeeming it with a surprise twist, and then breathing new life into the genre with some lovely sentiments.
While Scott's wife needs time to cope with the discovery, it is the lies and the secrets that bother her, not the crossdressing itself. Fortunately, her sister and brother-in-law have some experience with alternative lifestyles, and they are prepared to guide Scott (now Sallyann) into a new life as a sissy, while her wife assumes her role as dominant cuckoldress.
Where Putaine breathes new life into the genre is with the focus on self-acceptance. Sallyann has to recognize that she's the one being intolerant, that her guilt and shame are self-imposed. Once she does that, she can really settle in to her dreams and enjoy being pampered (and punished) as a sissy by her new Auntie, who makes a girl of her, and by her new Uncle, who makes a woman of her. The level of detail there, both physical and emotional is just delightful, as Sallyann really gets indulged in her femininity.
This is only the first part of her story, howver - it is A Sissy Story where her wife takes control.

I stumbled across this author and I had to read it. This is a definite spank-bank book. This is a sweet and erotic story of sissification. Mr. Putaine pens a smooth and sexy story of a man finding his happy place.
The style of this book is written in a diary format. It's fun, cute and the sharing from "Sallyann's" perspective is delicious. This first book is just a teaser. It sets up for the next book which I had to read immediately after this one. The characters in this story are straightforward and simple. The plot is actually believable and realistic. I can see this happening and it is arousing.
Recommended for kinky readers trying out sissification by dipping their feet gently into the bath waters.

This is one of those rare works of erotica that has a psychological and emotional depth beyond the turn-on, though it certainly has a lot of that as well. What happens if unorthodox sexual fantasies of a sort usually seen as shameful really come true?

This review is for the audiobook edition. Pavi Proczko's narration is well executed and captures the characters without any hint of stereotyping. He handles the diary narrative deftly as well as the scenarios that spring from the diary entries. Both sissy fans and audiobook lovers will be pleased with his performance.

Scott is a closeted cross-dresser/wannabe submissive who gets “caught” when his wife comes home unexpectedly and finds him indulging his fetish in full costume, complete with his wife’s wig and makeup. This discovery isn’t well received and Carly storms out in anger.
Interestingly, the entire story is told through diary entries. This device facilitates the conveyance of Scott’s angst as he struggles to save his marriage by agreeing to a one-sided open marriage arrangement that allows his wife to indulge her need for sex with a better endowed lover, plus enduring “little girl” training at the hands of his brother and sister in law, who have some kinky secrets of their own. It is the latter scenario that makes up the bulk A Sissy Diary. Ultimately his immersion in age-play allows Scott to realize his fondest fantasies in addition to restoring his wife’s trust in him.

Well this was certainly the kinkier side of erotica and had more to it than expected. Not only does Scott's wife get involved but her sister and brother-in-law too. Well written and well narrated and hit's the right notes if you want something a bit spicy to listen to. The only negative is that this is supposed to be the first in a series but 5 years later there's still no sign of a sequel. I'm kind of interested in what happens next.
