Felicity was a silent partner in Brock's ranch, so when her attorney's suggested she use some time to think about what she wanted to do with her money and her life, she decided to go stay at the ranch.
Brock disliked her on sight, while the other males including his brother were drooling over her. Felicity liked Brock, she just wish he liked her. She knew Brock was sexually attracted to her, so why couldn't he want all of her?
As the time went on Felicity and Brock's children grew attached to each other and Felicity wanted to stay at the ranch but Brock didn't want her to, so he sent her packing back to New York. Brock's kids begged to have her back so finally Brock's brother, Tyler called Felicity and told her to come back to the ranch and not give up on Brock's love.
Felicity came back to the ranch and fought for Brock and this time she wasn't letting him get away. However Brock believed in the Logan Curse, that a Logan's bride will always leave. Over time once again Felicity proved she loved him and would stay.
This book was a really good typical harlequin I have to say. There is nothing special or stand out about it, just another one that follows a series.
No one is waiting on a semi - critical analysis of a Harlequin novel, but here it is anyway.
This was maybe not as trashy as I had expected, but still. This kind of book is I guess a genre on its own. It reads like childish, over the top fanfiction. But good news: it falls into the category "so bad that it's good". I don't think authors of these kind of books don't even pretend to take it seriously.
The motivation of Felicity to be at that farm makes no sense and even then is resolved in about 4 lines.
The struggle of Brock with his feelings is written so over the top that it's funny. Oh damn 'the curse of the Logans, that will ruin his life'. Get over yourself, dude.
The smutty scenes read like pure fanfiction, with lines as "his presence was as necessary to her as oxygen" and the obligatory "but you're so big" moment.
The thing with these kind of books is that you don't seek to be amazed by the author's skills or lose yourself in a terrific plot. You just want some escapism and in my case, have a laugh at the over the top romance. And in that sense I had a good time reading something like this.
