Power of Letting Go: Break free from the past and future and learn to let God take control
We all tend to hold onto things that have happened in the past. It can feel like we are pulling a cart behind us with all our troubles and worries, it slows us down, we can become tired, depressed, even jealous, as life seems so easy for others.
All we need to do is LET GO of the cart, and we will feel lighter and free, but often we have held onto it so long that it has become part of us. Many of the people we know are also carrying carts so that it can seem normal. We talk about how heavy are cart is with anyone that will listen, at no point do we realize that we can set down that heavy cart that is keeping us from Gods love.

Avoid! Mindfulness is NOT Scriptural!
Mindfulness is a dangerous polytheistic eastern religious practice primarily derived from Buddhist monks. It's demonic and ungodly in origin! God never tells us to empty our minds...our hearts to Him maybe...but never our minds! He always tells us to focus on Him, cry out to Him and to cast all our cares upon Him! All throughout Scripture God has demonstrated time and time again that He is always willing and able to help out his repentant children. Books like this, while appearing seemingly helpful, are actually very unhelpful as they hide evil anti Biblical philosophies under the surface. Here is God's error proof formula for dealing with everything in life. First, repent of all sin and ask in faith for The Lord Jesus to save you- He will! (Romans ch 10 verse 13 "All who call upon the name of The Lord will be saved"! Second, trust Him. Third, follow Him. It really is that simple. We have His promise to help us, to advise us and to guide us. Let us honor and glorify Him by crying out for His help and reaching out for His hand! My friends, God is NEVER going to come up short with you!

When I first decided to order "Power of Letting Go" I will admit that I was a little concern about the brevity of the narration (30 minute) and how that would relate to the depth and complexity of the read. Unfortunately, I should have listen to my initial concerns because this read was nothing short of a watered down version of the subject matter. The truth is the first chapter is nothing but the author reading off how many chapter there are (13) and what the titles are. The last chapter is nothing but the author providing his background.
If you are a novice Christian, this book will give you a cursory view of how God works for our betterment when we let go. It is not an in depth study nor does it provide any help in how to let go. This was a very lightweight review for me and didn't really add much substance. I believe that even if you learn one new thing from a book then there is benefit to the reader. While this book did nothing for me, it might be useful to someone else thus the reason for my 2 star review. Next time, I will follow my first mind and skip books that are suspect.

This was a perfect read just after completing war room. I had some lump in my throat because of something that I had refused to let go as I felt it was unfair and the frustration, the disappointment and the feeling of lack that came with it made me angry. It drained the joy and the peace within me.
After this I got into my war room surrendered all to Him that holds all the answers. He then bestowed on me a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
I am now a new person. Happy, lighter and liberated. I don't even have the words to describe how I feel. May God help you to let go of some of the things you are holding onto, you will come into breakthroughs, to promotions, to peace of mind.
As long as you are holding onto the old, you can never experience the new.

Great book
Thank you Rev J Martin. I never really review books I've read (I know I should!) but had to give this wonderful little book 5 stars. It gave simple, no nonsense, biblical advice (with Scripture verses noted). The real life stories were an inspiration and showed how God works in our lives behind the scenes ! We only know in part , but He knows the full story of our lives. I have had a friendship end that I thought never would, but the advice in this book put things in perspective and has given me hope for the future. I have the rest of Rev Martin's books and am really looking forward to reading them. The advice in "The power of Words" so far is brilliant. Buy them all

Helped me so much.
I literally couldn't forgive some people on my past and it was making me angry ALL the time. They didn't deserve my forgiveness.. this book put into perspective that it's too great for me and to trust God. And I do. And I forgive, and I'm happier for it.

Not much biblical substance
This book didn't really contain much biblical text to back up the author's claims abd it ended by suggesting using eastern mindfulness excercises. No thank you. I will stick to Jesus

Great book
