In MOMFRENEMIES, the momfriends are back for more in this no-holds-barred sequel to the bestselling novel MOMFRIENDS. No one ever expected this trio to get along so well, least of all them. Newish mom Ruth is just starting to get the hang of the motherhood thing when her husband loses his job and all the pressure is on her to do everything. Earth mother Kirsten realizes the only thing worse than a preschool bully is his mother. And freshly separated Type-A Claudia is tired of being the playground pariah just because she’s single. But at the same time she could sure use a little action…if only her own mother doesn’t ruin it for her. But now a nasty Brooklyn mom blog is undermining all the choices these mothers have made. Somehow the blogger knows everything, and the momfriends start to suspect everyone they meet, including each other. Are these friends really frenemies? Is it every momfriend for herself? From sanctimommies to kindie rock groupies, Ariella Papa once again explores the world of motherhood with honesty and humor. Momfrenemies… keep them closer.
Super fun book that gives you an inside look at the moms of Brooklyn! The friendships in the book are real and engaging. You want to be friends with these girls!
It was almost as if this book was written for me and my friends. I'm a new mom and the first year is definitely challenging, all the struggles are real and we have faced them at one time or another. The dynamic of the characters was interesting, they are meant to represent a specific style of parenting and a type of group and sort of had all the stereotypical qualities associated with that group. I can say with certainty that not all of Brooklyn is as described in the book. Despite this small flaw and a simplistic view I really related to everything else in the book. The emotions and feelings and even situations were powerful. I was able to figure out who was behind MKB early on, so I wouldn't call this book a mystery but it was a very fun read.
Such a fun read! It was so great to revisit with the girls! There were so many fantastic relatable parent moments but I think it would be a really enjoyable read for non-parents too!
