Do you ever wish you could stop time, just long enough to catch up? Have you forgotten how to slow down and enjoy life? Are you constantly on the go, without a minute to spare? What you need is BALANCE.
Being balanced is the opposite of being stressed out and overwhelmed. Balance bespeaks a spirit of calm, not a bundle of nerves. It entails temperance and moderation rather than excess and extremes. Balance is what allows us to attend to daily necessities competently and efficiently, with time left over to enjoy things that round out and enrich our life.
BALANCE: THE ART OF MINDING WHAT MATTERS MOST will help readers think in new ways about what living a balanced life looks like, and to give them strategies for achieving the balance they so desire.
Jennifer Flanders graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a BS in Mathematics, then went on to do two years of graduate work in the same field at Southern Methodist University before she and her husband started their family, which has grown now to include twelve children and four grandsons (so far). She loves to read, write, teach, work in the garden, and do all sorts of handcrafts. LOVE YOUR HUSBAND/LOVE YOURSELF is her first book.
I don't really enjoy reading nonfiction. If I did, it would've taken me much less time to read this book. While I liked this book well enough and found several of the author's points insightful, I thought that it could have been much better edited because not only was the format awkward (I could see no reason for the groupings of chapters into book 1, book 2, and book 3) but the author repeated herself far too often; if her writing was more concise, her points and, therefore, her book would have been more powerful. Overall, it was a decent Christian self-help nonfiction book.
