Three years have past since the horrors of Moorehead Manor almost took the lives of Emily, Adam and Jimmy. Now the legacy of Moorehead is pulling our heroes back into an even deadlier encounter of black magic and betrayal that they may not be able to survive.
The finale to the Moorehead Manor series concludes with book 3: To the Dark Room of Souls
I grew up around Orlando, FL. and have a background in medicine and computer science. I was always an avid reader, an interest encouraged by my amazing mother, who took all us kids to the library regularly.
I am a new writer, with a small body of work, and I am someone who is interested in many genres. Because of that, I think it will hard to pin down what kind of writer I am.
I've recently finished my horror series, Moorehead Manor; however, I do not see myself as a horror writer. At present, I am working on my next book. It's the kind of novel Jane Austen would pen, were she writing a time traveling, murder mystery (slash) gay romance. After that, I hope to dive into a WWII story that's been on my brain for years.
Yep. My writing is all over the place, and I don't expect people to follow me across all the terrain I wish to cover, but one thing I do hope to achieve is making you, as a reader, happy with what you do read of mine.
That stopped her. She bounded back up the seating at a quick pace. “Lower your voice. Do you want someone to figure out that we burned the place down?”
“Apparently, somebody already has.”
Emily’s eyelids tightened and her brow furrowed. “What do you mean?”
Creepier house and villain but didn't enjoy as much as the first.
Not a bad story, don't get me wrong... just couldn't get into it this time around as much as the first one. The ending tied it all up nice and neat but felt rushed in a few places (but exciting at the same time).
I did love Emily more in this one :)
All in all, would recommend if you want to see what happens to them next.
From the first page to the last this was so fast paced I couldn't put it down. I was afraid I'd miss something. Very good story line. I can usually figure out the ending to some degree but this caught me completely off guard. Nothing ended like I thought it would. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes a good story.
Absolutely worth reading this second book. Couple of twists and interesting developments. The paranormal plot thickened - these are not your average ghosts, which is refreshing. Really enjoyed reading this book.
This novella will keep you in its grasp from the beginning! We catch up with the trio from Moorehead Manor...Adam, Emily and Jimmy. They are now in college and separated. We learn that Jimmy and Emily have broken up and it takes Adam pleading with Emily to go to save Jimmy. As it turns out, someone has discovered that they were responsible for burning down Moorehead Manor. Now that someone, a real estate mogul, needs their help to save his grand daughter. Apparently another historic mansion is in the clutches of ghosts and they have kidnapped 5 yo Hannah. Armed with ‘ghostbusting’ equipment and trained guards, the trio enter another house of horrors...will they survive this one? Another great story with heart stopping moments. Narration memorizes you...much as the paranormal activity in the basement of that mansion! Would love a follow up story...can’t get enough of Adam, Emily and Jimmy! I accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
What a great read! This is the 2nd book in the Moorehead Manor Series and really expands the story line for Jimmy, Emily and Adam the main characters in this (to date) 3-book series. The author does a great job of creating a fast paced storyline that picks up with our main characters a few years after their original adventure in Moorehead Manor. Many background questions about the Manor in book one are covered in this volume, and yet...
Of course as the narrator I am biased, but I’ really looking forward to revisiting Jimmy, Adam and Emily’s adventure in my next narration.
This story had me wondering what was happening. A bit creepy.
No corse language. There was violence, but doesn’t go into gory details. The only bit which disturb me was a description of a killing of a baby.
The story is well constructed. Leaves you wanting more.
Narrated by: Steven Miller He does a wonderful job. With his low deep voice. I did listen to the story at a faster speed of 1.4x. He brings the characters alive with their own individual unique voice.
Really enjoyed this story.

Review
From the very beginning I was completed sucked in to this story. The mystery and suspense had me so hooked I couldn’t stop listening. Just when I thought I had it figured out wham! Plot twist! Really really good storyline that had me guessing and wondering with an ending I never saw coming
Narration
Steven Miller did an amazing job bringing the story to life! He moves in and out of each charachter so easily and add just the perfect amount of creep factor when needed.
A fast paced non stop action pack story in the second part of the Moore head series. The ending was a total surprise. I completed part one and two in one day. Could not stop until I finished the second part. Tomorrow I will start the third book of the series. Excellent read.
Just finished reading the second book must say I wasn't expecting it to be as good as the first one but I was pleasantly surprised I thoroughly enjoyed it a must read
Emily,Jimmy and Adam are invited to help a wealthy guy to get his granddaughter back, she appears to have been taken by an evil spirit and the guy tells the guys that if they don't help him he will tell the police what they did at Moorehead Manor three years ago.
This was another story that I couldn't put down, I wouldn't say it was better then the first but I did enjoy it, there was a good story line, plenty of plot twists and some romance with a happy ending.
I would recommend this book to everyone. It is short, clear and revisiting. I didn't want to put it down and when I had to, I couldn't stop thinking about it.
I also liked that it gave a little history and a glimpse into the goody religion. This was a good read.
The plot moves quickly, although the addition of more descriptive ambience would be useful to help generate tension. Other than a couple of minor inconsistencies in details, I found the book very engaging and would recommend it.
The second part in this series is definitely a lot better than the first part. That was a good story, gripping plot, with a twist. I really have enjoyed this book. I would have given five stars if it had more information on the main characters, Jimmy, Adam and Emmy it was cut a bit short what happened in the past with each other, and I didn't liked the End, specially after they saved Jim, bit more information on three days would have been helpful to get a better ending. Thanks for the entertainment it was worth it.
Excellent, suspenseful, executed fabulously.. Not a lot of useless fluff to fill in a story. This author actually had a focused and well thought out plot that didn’t need any extra fluff or mindless tidbits thrown into the story. I enjoyed the authors style of writing. I enjoyed this book (novella) immensely! A quick read that keeps you on your toes the entire time and makes you go back for ALL the books! No violent gore, sex or vulgar language or talk.. just a good, clean, spooky, psychological, haunted house ghost story!
I appreciated the fast pace of this book - it's an easy read. The first half was interesting, too, and I felt excited about the mystery. But then the book got weird with a satanic ritual, ghosts and a supernatural/paranormal focus. Overall, the story ended on a weird note that was disappointing to me but would probably entertain paranormal fans. It includes some cursing and sexual content. Also, this book is not a stand-alone book, so read Moorhead Manor #1 before you read this sequel.
Another fabulous read! The author captures your reading attention on page one and does not slow down til the very end of the story! My daughter heard me gasp as I was reading a few times and asked what I was reading. I replied " I cannot ruin it for you! You have to read it your self!" This novella keeps you and the edge of your seat until the end.
audible:This was a great follow up to the first book.In this,a rich mogul practically kidnaps the young threesome to go into another haunted house to find his granddaughter. They find out the first house and this house has history, and that there are more. Steven Miller was a fine narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
received as a gift from a group we belong to, this was a WONDERFUL story, in Audible format. Paer two of three, it was scary enough, not Freddy Kreuger level but still up there_.... with an exciting story line, I couldn't turn it off! Laid in bed listening late into the night ;-) How fun!
