It’s the sensational debut of a bimonthly, overstuffed, oversized team-up series in which Harley meets (and almost certainly annoys) the greatest heroes and villains of the DC Universe! First up? The incredible Wonder Woman! There’s a plot to assassinate Wondy, and Harley is convinced that only she could possibly stop it! (Hey, you want to tell her about all the other options? We tried.)
Happy New Year Everybody! Presenting my first review of 2017!
Very good! So I got read this first issue of what I believe to be a series? Basically its "Batman: Brave and The Bold" in that Harley teams up with a different hero each issue, this one being Wonder Woman! So basically Harley uncovers a plot to kill Wonder Woman, and we discover that Harley is a closet Wonder Woman fan; so she tries to help in her own Harley way! Story overall was very good, and Amanda Conner's Artwork is amazing as always!
4.4/10 That was a bit disappointing. The very short version of the story is, Harley goes to London to save Wonder Woman from a guy named the Barmy Bugger. Now the idea of the story is not bad, so why the 2 stars?
Well I didn’t like the fact that everybody in London sucked on what they are doing. The London legion of superheroes is useless, and the villains are not so bright either. Also there are scenes that make no sense at all.
When Harley learns of a plot to kill her favorite superhero, she's off to London! Turns out Harley's had a bit of an obsession on Wonder Woman ever since she was a child. Now Harley, Wonder Woman, and the London Legion of Superheroes must save the day! This issue is a blast and a half. Harley is funny, the action is great, and I loved watching Harley gush all over Woman Woman. Plus the art of Connor and Timms is gorgeous and full-color. Everything one could want in a Harley comic!
Following Harley and her gang of Quinns, we find ourselves stoping a chemical attack that is planned as a way to take out Wonder Woman. And you know what? Harley is a BIG fan f Wondy, as she calls her. So, here she goes to save the day. Or try to, at least haha It is a fun ride, with very funny moments, but not as fun as Harley's main serie. Although this doesn0t mean it's bad, only just not as good.
Man this was a long comic! A fun read and fantastic artwork. Harley is a great "newer" character. Interesting to get some preview into her origin as well as her obsession for Wonder Woman. Overall a very enjoyable comic and a series that I will be looking forward to in future releases.
Harley's Little Black Book is cute, funny, and full of mischief as Harley meets her hero, Wonder Woman. Great art and beautiful colors with a great story for an enjoyable read.
Me encanta la Harley de Conner, y esta "Cita con Wonder Woman" me ha divertido mucho. Viene un póster central que creo que nunca arrancaré, pero me encanta :D
A fun little read showing Harley being a closet fan of Wonder Woman. Although showing the age difference when Harley grew up and now, I have a bit of a difficulty lol
you know you can just...not set your comic in england if (evidently) no one on your creative team has ever spoken to someone from this country in their lives
Harley and her "gang" stumble on a chemical smuggling operation in New York, which leads to a bigger plot to capture Wonder Woman in London. Harley jumps in to save the day and hopes for a long-desired meeting with her idol!
This book had a lot of the humor that's been missing in Harley's main title. While I've found that book flagging a bit lately, this one had all the humor and craziness I've been missing! Harley's hair-brained scheme, let alone its implementation were fantastic, but the scenes in which she decides to pose as Wonder Woman are priceless! There's a lot of similarity between this relationship and the one that Harley shared with Power Girl, but the jokes still work and had me chuckling.
There were a few flashback scenes to Harley as a grade-schooler that build up her "fangirling" of Wonder Woman, but also set up her future - both as a psychiatrist AND a villain. These were really fun scenes that I would love to see more of. These formative years could be a great little treasure trove of future character bits!
Always a pleasure to see Amanda Connor's artwork, especially on Harley! She has a great take on the character that has become iconic! From facial expressions and body language, to the action scenes and panel flow, its all just fantastic and has become the definitive Harley Quinn! And I won't short-change her take on Wonder Woman either!
Altogether this was a fun book, with great art and well worth the time spent with it!
So having been enjoying DC Bombshells so much I thought I'd give a super "hero" comic another try because the cover art of this was just too damn cute to pass up. I LOVED that Harley had a Wonder Woman obsession from childhood (I knew there was a reason I thought she was great). That she had a twisted plan to save Wonder Woman and it kinda worked. It was cute and funny. The only thing that let this down was the HIDEOUS English slang by the British super heroes. It was like someone had looked up a list of British slang on wikipedia and decided to use all their examples without ever having heard British people speak. (I don't think I've ever heard anyone say Bloomin except for Dick Van Dyke! Still despite that an enjoyable comic, though I don't think I'll be rushing out and getting any more. (Well unless there's a poison ivy issue)
Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti had me in stitches throughout Harley's Little Black Book, volume one. It had to be one of the funniest storylines I've read in a long while and the illustrations by Amanda Conner, John Timms, and Dave Johnson were nothing short of outstanding. Their artwork was spot on, beautifully drawn, and absolutely perfect.
My favorite scenes/images had to be with the costume switcharoo. If you think Wonder Woman looked hot before, wait until you see her in Harley's costume. Her hotness reached a whole new level. ;)
Oh and I loved how Harley snuck in an ass grab on Wonder Woman. Can't say I blame her for the squeeze and wouldn't expect anything less from her. Amanda, Jimmy, and John, fantastic job all around!
This was so much fun. Nice, funny, little one shot. Seemed to pick up right after the last Harley Quinn volume, but absolutely a fine jumping on point for newcomers to Harley.
